I’d rather have a fast campaign I can play again and again versus one that’s a slog to play thru.

Yes $70 is expensive you’re paying a premium to play it new just wait till it’s $30 or less if you’re just a casual fan of the series. Hardcore fans want to support Capcom because we want more Resident Evil. The series just scratches an itch I get. It’s the only mid 90s franchise that continues to get a regular stream of entries and that makes me happy.
 
Did anyone else laugh when you placed the detonator only to have it immediately explode? I mean there was no countdown to back away or anything, it just went off the second you hit the button. It just kind of caught me off guard because it was timed like a Looney Toons cartoon. It seemed like poor Leon just went through what was probably the worst part of the game and his reward was a bomb blowing up in his fucking face.

Oh dont get me wrong, I'm not saying they will do it; people just love the usual characters too much. Just from a narrative standpoint it is a bit stale.

Shame because RE5 actually IS rough around the edges and could benefit from some tweaks. A modern remake would probably cast Debra Wilson as Sheva, and there aint no way that tribal outfit is coming back.

Debra Wilson is union. One good thing about Capcom's hate boner for unions is we will never see Debra Wilson in a Capcom game. I don't even hate Debra. She was awesome in Madtv. But she's like the black gay female Pedro Pascal/Chris Pratt she's in everything. It's like how people eventually got tired of hearing Steve Blum and Troy Baker everywhere. Eventually people want to hear someone else's voice.

Also, 30+GameOvers the reason that data was shown was to point out that by including the retarded shit they did it provided more hype and thus sales for their game. Re9 is currently the best selling game in the series. You asked why Capcom did it and I told you why. Showing that it outperformed their best games and their most actively played games in both categories for sales and player count. Similarly the re7 demo has more players than re7. This is because re7 demo had the finger puzzle which is even more cryptic and retarded. Capcom knew it would make their game more popular to actually include the puzzle in the game instead of a demo. And it did. I never said it was a beneficial decision to me. I simply acknowledged why.

Except that's false. The remake hasn't outsold the original yet. I love how you used a chart that doesn't even have the original listed to somehow prove your point.

The second half is mostly Leon, there's a clear moment when you'll realize the game finally started.

The story is irrelevent, there will always be another bio terrorist with weak motivation to justify a game. The story has always been good guy beats bad guy.
