To be fair, it is kinda creepy when you realize he was taking care of her since the Raccoon City incident until she turned 18 and then in RE6 her first job is at the same company Leon works for. Even though obviously very unintentional, he kinda groomed Sherry. Though at least I will say he doesn't sound like the guy who would intend for any of it.
To be even more fair, this is Sherry all grown up.

Finished Requiem today, liked it way more than I thought I would. Far better than 8, but not as good as 7. I kinda enjoyed it more than the 4make. With the ending and Grace's report, did anyone else get the vibe that they're kind of wrapping this storyline up in preparation for maybe a game or two more, then a full-blown reboot?
As much as I hate to be "that guy", and I do, because I absolutely meant what I said earlier about REmake.... It would peak my interest seeing a 3rd person rendition of the good ol' spencer mansion in RE engine. I never thought I'd see the day, but RE1 is actually VERY reserved and logically down to earth compared to how truly batshit RE became. A grounded reboot would do some good to drastically pull things back to where even 1 single zombie in a hallway is a serious threat and the most terrifying thing the protagonist has ever seen. But I totally get if people don't want it touched.

I never said Sherry was wrong for the adult men to shag. I just said it's creepy it's Leon considering he practically raised her. If Chris or Jake shagged her nobody would bat an eye because it's not the age gap that's the problem, it's the fact Leon was helping raise her after she was orphaned in Raccoon City.

Yeah, according to logs in RE6, Sherry is basically a lab prisoner being tested by the government most of her life and Claire and Leon visit her frequently, Claire more so. I don't have any problem with that developing into a romance, the problem is it doesn't, We see them interact in 6. However, there's actually cute moments between her and Jake, they cuddle together in the cabin in chapter 2, there's a silly bit in chapter 3 where jake runs in on her half dressed and gets embarrassed, there's actual chemistry between them. But her and Leon there's nothing.

Meanwhile Leon has a love interest setup for him with Ada, she literally says she fell in love with him in the original 2. If they chose Claire that'd be fine too, even though they always meet due to circumstance more than anything else. It's really baffling they'd pick Sherry.

It's funny how often Kamiya directed games had very clear setups intended for sequels that got ignored. Like how DMC1 setup Trish to be Dante's companion and then that just never happened.

Can't put the genie back in the bottle, it was terrifying for the crew in July 24, 1998, but ya gotta realize that it isn't for us anymore.
Wild to think so much happened in that year, by December Code Veronica occurs and that has all SORTS of wild shit show up that would blow the socks off the cast at the start of the Mansion incident.

there's a 5 year period from Arklay Mountains stuff to Raid of the Spencer Estate were just so much shit happens.

the problem you have is you get shutter shots of their lives, we have, out of the 28 years of Leon being in the story, a couple of weeks tops of his life shown to us.

That's an argument of realism the reality is that in a story you have to develop characters and if you're not going to do that he shouldn't end up with anyone. But they've laid the seeds for love interests for both of them anyway. Sure they could always get together off screen cause there's years of stuff we'll never see but that's not a satisfying answer from an audience perspective and they still have no chemistry even now. Like they chose an answer nobody would ever be happy with.

surely you didn't think Ada was going to settle down and cook him stews while he went to work.

This was the first RE game that I've played. I enjoyed the main Rhodes Hill and East Raccoon City section. Unlike the rest of this sequence of insane set-pieces, these two sections felt purposely designed in their gameplay. I would also extend this to the Rhodes Hill basement section (Amnesia: The Bunker vibes).
The writing was absolute slop.
I hope a gamemode or mod allows me to play a specific character's portions of the campaign.

So, what's /v-- I mean the Kiwifarms Resident Evil thread verdict on Requiem? Are you goys happy with your 69.99$ purchase?
I watched part one of a playthough and got bored halfway through. It looks like Grace was just a retread of RE7/8 and Leon was just a retread of the last three REmakes. I feel like if I bought it I probably would've wound up refunding it in the first hour.

its kinda like 7,8,remake4, amazing on first playthrough, not that good on replays

unlocking unli ammo is basically Grace with proper fbi training lol

My buddy pointed out it looks like Leon puts on a wedding ring as he walks away from Grace at the end. I think he's right after rewatching it. It's also in the concept art.

So he shacked up with Ada finally. At least two people have sex in this series.
People seem to think his married to Sherry but that would be weird.
It's kinda pathetic how much /v/ is actually pushing for this, not because it's fun, but because they're all pedos.

Kamiya unfortunately never made a sequel until Okami 2. He always let other people make them instead.

I was thoroughly entertained so yes indeed. It's ultimately a product of entertainment and it kept me entertained quite well. It fulfilled its purpose as a form of entertainment media by being media that entertained me.

Is it AAA slop? Absolutely. But it's good AAA slop. It's the equivalent of wendys. It's ultimately still slop. But it's the best of the slop. Is it going to be as good as silksongs dlc or mewgwnics? Absolutely not. But it is a good game. Which should be bog standard but sadly isn't. Id rate it a 7/10. Good. But nothing noteworthy or special. Fun and enjoyable but not a masterpiece.

Claire was taking care of Sherry, not Leon. She only ever get to talk to him for few seconds (if at all) during the train ride before G4 Birkin came in and maybe a bit after that before they got picked up by Uncle Sam and seperated. Western icks that are grossly missapplied are the only problem here.

Good blend of RE experiences in one package.
Grace segment is a nice blend of RE1 and RE3 with Stalker-archetype, Mansion-East Wing-West Wing 3 floors exploration to grab 3 gizmos and open the door and tight item management (realistically though the game always gives you more than you need to handle any situation)
Leon segment is sort of open world (wide street with 3 side buildings really) action pack mix of RE4 and 6 with member berries and weapon/item shop.
Played on Casual and it left me satisified. Gearing up for no-heal run, no-blood collect run and then Insanity run with infinite weapons.

It does seem that they want to lower the curtain on REngine and start fresh. One of those two games should be RE5make in order to properly recharacterize Ozwell Spencer because in the OG RE5 he was a megalomaniac until the very end. That badly contrasts with his new characterization where he regrets what he did and wished to make amends with Elpis.
