Claire was taking care of Sherry, not Leon. She only ever get to talk to him for few seconds (if at all) during the train ride before G4 Birkin came in and maybe a bit after that before they got picked up by Uncle Sam and seperated. Western icks that are grossly missapplied are the only problem here.

fuck no, the first thing Claire did was be a deadbeat mom after killing Sherry's dad. Leon was the one stuck with taking care of Sherry, there is simply no spark or chemistry between Claire and Leon, in fact the last time they saw each other, they hated each other.

This is old continuity and I was reffering to what was happening during the game, not after the ending.

Is this infinite darkness? I dont even know if that's canon. The last time they saw each other was degeneration anyway. Where Claire and him killed zombies together before Claire took some other kid to India.

all of the 3d movies are canon, not that they particularly "touch" the games plots.
They have done a good job of fleshing out more events in the franchise

Re3 states the opposite. Claire hardly ever sees sherry after re2 according to re3

surely you didn't think Ada was going to settle down and cook him stews while he went to work.
no she'd cook some wierd gook shit and henpeck him constantly. Demanding half his salary like most chink wifes do. I'd imagine she's hit the wall HARD. harder than Chris Redfield punches boulders if you will.

perhaps if Derek Simmons waited for the YF virus in his system to subside. (yellow fever). wait for Ada to turn into a little pug faced goblin. the events of resident evil 6 could have been averted and Israel wouldn't be false flagging Iran's neighbours with drones and BOWs.

Ada Wong's vagina is the real biohazard.

im one of the few people who liked Jake and I was kinda hoping for a cameo of him being with Sherry or at least protecting her when she had to hack into the DoD for the connections files

If Claire was eating Sherry's virussy every night everyone on twitter complaining wouldn't give a single fuck.

They'd call it stunning and brave lesbian representation and it would get 10,000 GLAAD awards.

The hypocrisy is real indeed. I personally still think it should be Jake considering they had good chemistry by the end of 6 and Sherry and Jake didn't meet when one of them was a child. Leon makes more sense as Sherry's godfather than husband and I think Helena or Ada should be Leon's wife. Though no matter what I think we can all agree Victor is down bad for Spencer.

i think that the Sherry x Leon ship is overblown by Sherry's use of "anata" in the Japanese dialogue, its still a very respectful use of "you"

unless Sherry calls Leon "danna" or "otto" or Leon calling Sherry "oyome" or "oku", its still up in the air

I've beaten the game a few times now for the collectibles and the more I play, the more everything just feels like something that came before it. The lift sequence with enemies jumping on it, knock off Krauser fight, Mr X fight, final phase of the final boss. Even the Grace sections felt like The Evil Within or the stealthy parts of RE7. It all just feels like a worse version of previous things.

I also noticed how many forced walking sections and slow animations there are. I don't mind the game not being long. I'm currently playing through Nioh 3 and honestly it's refreshing to have a game I can beat in a few hours, but, I wonder just how short RE9 would be if they removed all forced slow sections and animations. Even the Sherry conversations arent skippable despite the Hunnigan ones being skippable in RE4R.

Story wise, I don't even care to think about much cause RE has never been Shakespeare but this being a sort of 'greatest hits' of Leon moments makes me think they really wanted to kill him off but chickened out. I actually kind of liked the ending where he got domed, it was a shock to see and really refreshing. Main characters just don't get killed off in stuff anymore.

I'll be a scrub and play the next sloppy game they release in the series but yeah, this one was like a 6/10. OG RE2 still the most fun and replayable.

With the whole Leon/Sherry thing, I don't think they're married. Leon wasn't interested in Ashley who was a few years younger than him and has only ever shown interest in Hunnigan, Ada and that chick from the one movie (Degeneration, I think?) My money is on Ada. But my heart tells me they're probably swingers or something weird like that. Ada strikes me as the type.

the cg movies are. Infinite Darkness is the netflix series that follows the re2make leon/claire. To me, those versions of them aren't even the same characters.

Fun fact: that girl, Angela Miller, is voiced by the same person who voices Helena Harper and is basically playing the same character. They even both tragically kill their mutated sibling. She also voices last of us 2's Abby and in that game often breaks character and starts to sound like Helena/Angela (older) especially when whispering

To be even more fair, this is Sherry all grown up.

As much as I hate to be "that guy", and I do, because I absolutely meant what I said earlier about REmake.... It would peak my interest seeing a 3rd person rendition of the good ol' spencer mansion in RE engine. I never thought I'd see the day, but RE1 is actually VERY reserved and logically down to earth compared to how truly batshit RE became. A grounded reboot would do some good to drastically pull things back to where even 1 single zombie in a hallway is a serious threat and the most terrifying thing the protagonist has ever seen. But I totally get if people don't want it touched.
I honestly do love how zombies got beefed up to hell and back in RE2. Eating bullets to the face like it's candy. Add that with crimson heads? Oh that could work nicely in part 1. I'm not sure I really want another mr x situation with lisa though.

A poll by ign on who Leon should be with, made me laugh my ass off.

Sherry somehow wins.

"This is your fault bitch!"
"You split the vote!"

There are way too many hints in this game that he married Sherry for it to be anyone else. Especially when you consider that none of his other potential love interests from the series are even mentioned in the game. Closest is Claire who appears as a charm, but lore enjoyers know that Leon and Claire don't like each other at all and are ideologically opposed. It's also hard for me to believe that when Leon is on the verge of death he wouldn't have a moment where he mentions his wife or at least asks Sherry to tell her something. The only way that makes sense is if he was talking to his wife the entire game and she already knows the stakes and is with him until the end.

For some reason, so many people think fanart and fanfiction are cannon when it comes to this series. Leon and Claire did not adopt Sherry and raise her, the government snatched her within hours of RE2's ending. They were only able to see her rarely throughout the years and RE6 implies that it's been a long time since Leon and Sherry last saw each other.

After RE6 they started working together at DSO. That's probably when they actually got to know each other, became close, started dating, and eventually got married.
