with RE4 remake, 8 and 9 using a lot of gameplay elements from Evil Within, it just shows that Shinji Mikami needed a tard wrangler. that game was so close to greatness, if it wasnt for some retarded decisions like the story, letterbox shit and other stuff
The big problem with Evil within was the lack of originality to the settings and the insane amount of one hit kill bosses in tiny areas. I really had to play it on easy because that shit was getting ridiculous. Otherwise I really do like how it's an R rated re4 with a clint Eastwood like protagonist. ( I was very VERY impressed with the motion capture for his face, Dude is very visibility trying to hold together in the face of all the insane shit)

Evil within 2 I liked even better for its scares and setting but I unfortunately can't give a final verdict as I lost the save file. Still the best open world horror game I've ever played. If RE did an open world game like it id be supportive.

So I'm hearing Jill was supposed to be the third major character for requiem before they cut her out. This was apparently late enough data miners found a full blown model for her, but I can't find it.

I know Chris has a huge gay fanbase and a lot of fans like to say him and Jill are both super gay but I don't buy it. He always gave me the vibe of someone who wouldn't settle down but instead sleep with the odd meaningless affair. When RE5 came out, they did this fun promo series of live action shorts where Chris is dealing with PTSD bought on by the game. In one, he's on a date and dissociating. I'm showing my dorky fan side a little too much now by speculating on character ships but I did always find it weird how capcom shows us these now 40-60 year old characters with no information about their relationships. Bit sad to think they're all meant to be single bioterror fighters forever. Give them some kids and wedding rings, they've earned it!
Are you sure it's actually fans that think this and not just some retarded fujoshits being loud and obnoxious about their preferred ship?

Seriously.

This site somehow attracts people that are just miserable in life and want to bitch about literally everything. Constant complaining about the most trivial shit in every video game / movie / tv thread. Shut the fuck up and try enjoying things for a change.

This game is great and I had a ton of fun playing it.
Consume the slop! Enjoy the most generic third person shooter possible! Made with reused assets and nostalgia! Where every puzzle is find the 3 things scattered around the hub, then spend an extra hour there to pad it out even more.

The Ark isn't bad. It's actually pretty decent as far as modern RE goes. I would say it's enjoyable at points and makes some decent use of the enemies there. My issue is it's like 10 hours into a boring and bland game. There is nothing here you can't get better else where. There's nothing unique, there's nothing special. If you want a walking sim play a better walking sim. If you want an action FPS play a better action FPS. This is all nostalgia and that's a real fucking problem when your gameplay and the look of 50% of your game is taken from the PS3.

I'll finish it off later tonight. But I wouldn't recommend this to any one unless you're getting it for bundle prices. Nothing here is special, nothing is unique. The enemy variety is "you get to fight 2 special zombies per area" and even those are reused assets. I'm trying not to spoil stuff here, but there isn't even anything worth spoiling.

It just brings the conversation to a screeching halt if you just call everything brainless slop and do nothing but shit on <current thing>.

I don't call everything brainless slop. I call a game that has no original ideas in story or gameplay but a huge marketing budget slop. I'm basically at the last boss now and I've seen nothing here that wasn't in a previous RE game. Some of it just straight up copy and pasted.

Is there any genre more over saturated and smoothed down so there's not a single edge left than horror TPS? I can't tell the difference between this game and SH2. And SH2 was shit on for being a generic, bland slop adaption when it came out. It's not <Current thing> It's <PS3 thing> + <20 fucking years>. I want something new, something innovative. Not the same Zombies we've been fighting since RE4 with the same AI and then adding 1 or 2 specials per area as mini bosses. I will post a proper post later detailing what I mean by this but I think any one who's played RE since the gamecube era can spot every single enemy is a reskin.

It's definitely brainless slop. Though it is also a 30th anniversary title of a 26 game series. I would expect it to be mainly just a fanservice slop game. Which is what we ended up getting. Is it all just fanservice for what people liked about Resident Evil over the years? Absolutely. But that's kinda what a 30th anniversary title should be. If I want original these days I go indie anyway. And there's plenty of original indie games to enjoy. RE9 is what I wanted from it. It had good gameplay and fanservice for the series. However if I want something innovative I'm going to play something indie like MIO or Mewgenics or The Forest 3 when that comes out.

Ive heard good things about 9 but i haven't played an RE game since 5. Which ones between 5 and 9 would you all recommend i check out, and which should be skipped?

6, 7, 8 and the remakes of re2 and 4 are all good games. (the 3 remake is also good but shh dont tell anyone here that)

We are still getting dlc.

these fucking jews want to charge 70€ for a 8 hour singleplayer game. I think RE9 looks really good but no way am I buying this until a huge sale happens (or the denuvo gets cracked). just gonna replay the RE2 remake
Remember goyim, inflation isn't a thing. We get the same games but somehow 50 turned into 70. That's the effects of fiat currency debasement in real time. Thank your AIPAC State government for making you poorer, and for unbacked fiat derivative trash for allowing the scheme to even be possible in the first place. L'Chayim!

Speaking of over-priced, content-cut trash...

6 is bad. 7 is very good. 8 is decent. Remake 2 is good. Remake 3 is pretty bad. Remake 4 I don't like but many others do. Revelations are also worth playing.

I don't mind fan service if you have something to back it up. I mind the generic slop with no flavour.
Mr X is back. Why? Because RE2 exists. Does it make sense for him to be there? No. Does it make sense that Leon is spitting up blood but defeats it in melee combat? No. When you get to RPD it starts playing RE1 music, the RE2 hall theme kicks in and plays for the entire area for no good reason. And then you find Jills fucking hat. The place is nuked, there is shit every where, it's totally collapsed. But Jills hat is sat perfectly on the desk in the stars office? Why!?

RE7 was a pretty generic horror game trying to copy the walking sim/amnesia style of horror. Designed for VR, it was heavy on the streamer bait. But it had heart. Some of the areas were well done and it referenced old stuff but didn't lean too hard into it. I don't consider it slop because it's really well put together. RE9 has 1 enemy for 90% of it's run time. Every area has Zombies, unless it's an event you don't get any special zombies and they're so obviously telegraphed it's painful. Literally the exact same
light brown boxes.
That signal as soon as you pick up an item an enemy will break through them. They only appear in that specific colour if they're an ambush spot.

Despite what people may tell you, RE6 isn't all that bad, and if you have a friend to play it with it's even more fun. Remake2 is pretty great, but it's by no means perfect and when you notice it's flaws you can't un-notice them.

Avoid the remake of RE3. Even if you get it for free you'll still feel like you were cheated.

I finished the game. It took 11 hours and I think that's a fair price for a £40 game, which is what I paid from a key shop. I'm happy to pay that much for a game of that length. I'm not happy with the content.

Sherry is a likeable side kick and I enjoyed her performance.
The ARK is fun. It's good RE gameplay that includes a variety of combat scenarios.
The guns felt good even if the combat was dull. I liked the area where you shot the glass. The mortar was also okay.
The early scene with The girl is very creepy and got under my skin.
I like that I could pick first or third person. I didn't want to play a stealth game first person when it was this basic.
I thought the chef was cool.
The model of the residence was cool.
Leon dying was obviously not going to happen. But the visuals of that segment were beautiful. Shame the gameplay SUCKED. Hold W to watch a cut scene.
The plant stuff was pretty cool. That was an okay boss fight.

I am sick of motion capture cut scenes where everyone over acts in a blue void. It spoils the cut scenes.
The game is woke as fuck. Constant darkies and it's disgusting.
The parry system makes the game a joke. I played on normal difficulty and just parried everything with Leon. Maybe it's because I'm a dark souls player but the axe is busted.
Why the fuck is hunk a boss fight? It's clearly supposed to be Hunk even if it's not him.
Wesker being back was weird. I was expecting it to be revealed he was the real one but then he just dies. Not even a boss fight.
The game is way too fucking easy. I picked up barely any upgrades or charms and I breezed through everything. I was never short of ammo or healing except once and that didn't matter as the game gave me more. I cannot feel scared or worried knowing the auto balance will feed me shotgun shells.
The Girl was very creepy at first but the maps for her are awful. Every map has an obvious box to circle. It got repetitive by the time I got to the mine. She was way over exposed.
RPD was a nothing burger. All nostalgia no fun.
Racoon city SUCKED. It was boring and I just wanted it done. The kendo wank was disgusting. Leon didn't know Keno and here he is slobbering all over him. WTF
No rocket launcher to kill gideon to end it? Got to hype up the new gun and shoot ammo I didn't have..
Gideon is under used and just reappears. Should have been left dead after the shitty bayonetta scene.
Last boss is stolen from Dead space. Wasn't fun. Gideon is the worst RE final boss I can remember. Super tyrant was a better fight.
Leons axe is super OP, it fucking wrecks everything.
Why are unique enemies only used twice ever? Sirens twice, flaming chainsaws twice, fat regenerators twice. They never used the dogs. The elite soldiers just vanish (I don't like these, didn't fit the game). Where is the variety? Lickers only appear at the end of the game.
Saving Emily was bullshit. She's a fucking monster now. If Eplis can stop any bio weapon why didn't leon just stab Gideon with one?
Why the fuck does Gideon set off the self destruct when he doesn't know where Grace is and could kill her?
Why does Grace swim in a pool of blood then a river of blood and has a clean t-shirt after? it has a few red marks on it and they're gone after you get control of her again.

Would I recommend this game? Well no, but yes. If you want a modern slop horror game and can get it cheap in a bundle, game pass or key shop then it's playable. But you have to know you're getting into slop and expect areas to out live their welcome. The story is Kojima's levels of retarded. Grace is annoying. Leon is out of character for 80% of the game. It lacks an identity and pulls in two widely different directions.

I'd give it a 6/10. Without the final area it would have been 3/4. It's functional. But that's just it. It's functional. There is no reason to like this game and not even a hint of love. It's a by the books shooter that pads areas out but has a short run time. Give it a few months and everyone will be saying how bland it is.

Mr X was a successful bio weapon but why was it in RPD? Who dropped it there? Why? It's just nostalgia bait. And leon being able to melee a super tyrant is insane. Unless the T virus was making him stronger he shouldn't be able to go toe to toe with a tyrant. And when we kill Mr X he doesn't even revive, he just dies to a shotgun.. Why? It's nostalgic wanking. Both Leon and Grace her rag dolled repeatedly in this game and never show any signs of damage from it. The girl slams Grace's spine into the wall and Grace barely flinches.

He knew of him, Kendo made him his gun which he used up to RE4, and obviously he ran into him and saw that he had to kill his daughter, which was pretty fucking memorable.

He literally never interacts with him outside of 1 cut scene. Either "Who are ya, what are ya doing here?" or the daughter scene. And considering all the shit Leon went through so far, Kendo is no where near the top of the list. It's just fan service wanking off Kendo.
