I don't even play the games but I love watching them; is Ethan Winters the most beat up protagonist in RE history? This motherfucker was sliced and diced to hell and back. Limbs chopped off, appendages chopped off, body parts feasted upon, legs and hands hooked. Jesus wept.

beat up? more like the most enduring character.
Like basically a zombie but with brain. Still.

It's so the Connections can keep tabs on her. Federal agents undergo extensive background checks, so there's no way her origin would be kept a secret from conspirators within the agency, unless she somehow had a really, really good false identity cooked up. The safest place to keep your human macguffin is at a boring desk job in a highly secure building full of law enforcement. When the time comes, you can arrange for her to "go missing" after being sent to investigate a crime scene alone.

He literally died in the beggining of the first game and kept on living as mold

Not sure if this is a glitch or if I just went the wrong ways but i have the following scenario: I killed the Chunk "boss" with Grace and then went upstairs to the Lead researcher's office with the safe. Couldn't open it because it was locked and I needed corrosives. Got those, went back and a cutscene played. After the cutscene I quit the game without saving (I am playing Modern standard so I had the autosave) . Played a day later and loaded an older savefile and I had all the documents I picked up in the office in my OLDER savefile. Now suddenly I could get the level 2 and 3 security bands which I am pretty sure are items I am not supposed to get before I actually had the cutscene in the office. You think this is a glitch or does Modern work like that?

No. The cutscene is actually entirely skippable. The cutscene plays when you get the acid and return to the office before finishing Grace's first segment. As soon as he leaves he goes into the room where Leon's next segment starts. The level 2 and 3 bands are tied to the level 1 band and the organs. The cutscene is tied to the acid.

I only just got to the ark but I have to agree with the Raccoon City portion being a little underwhelming. It does feel like a unholy mix of Silent Hill 2, The Last of us, and the first chapter of MGS4. Everything is just a grey dull sepia and something is off with the pacing. It just starts and suddenly you are fighting a giant spider. Then you are in a warehouse and zombies just start coming out of the ground. Very little build up pacing or tension. The zombies just spawn out of the ground and are just weird generic looking zombies that use tools now for some reason (maybe this is explained later).

Also it really drives home that we got 2 halves of potentially far better games. If Leon's portion is supposed to be like RE4 it really lacks all the nice fleshed out elements. Sidequests, secret treasure, sub plots, mystery etc. Even bizarre flourishes that made RE4 RE4 like the merchant are gone and we literally buy items from a generic box like its counter strike or something. I have to say its overused and maybe a bit harsh but it felt a bit on the "soulesss" side.

Game is not horrible but the Raccoon City portions are worth criticizing and do not feel like Resident Evil. I loved Grace's portion and what they do with the zombie enemies in that, but there again instead of getting fleshed out into an entire campaign it ends when it gets going and then we are back to generic dull zombies in leons section

I enjoyed the game, but I do agree with a lot of your criticisms. I think my biggest issue was with the pacing. The second that it felt like either character's story was going somewhere, it screeched to a halt to swap characters. I kind of wish that it was treated the campaigns as A/B scenarios, either you play the campaign as Leon or Grace. Then once you finished both campaigns, you could play a "chronological" campaign ala The Last of Us 2.

The Leon/Grace dynamic is an evolution of the Carlos and Steve sections from earlier games. Where you have a character with a preset amount of supplies independent of the main character so they can have more enemy dense sections about combat without testing your resource management. Revelations also used this concept and is about half action sections, half Jill sections, of course the Jill sections also become action sections half way through. You could also see it as being similar to Code Veronica but in that game the division was a bit more clear, you played a Claire section then a Chris section (aside from a short section toward the end as Claire again)

In the case of RE9 it accomplishes a few things, first off getting to play as Leon after Grace's imposed stealth gameplay is very relieving because Leon bullies enemies that Grace had to sneak past. Grace's sections also always have that more strategic resource managenent since Leon always comes in AFTER, they never reverse the order.

I also like Grace and Leon have different but equal resource systems and that actual effort was put in to make them play fundamentally different. The more centralized blood crafting system let's you have more freedom over what you craft since Grace has half as long to gather resources than usual. While leon's weapon system merges attatchments and upgrades removing that redundancy that 8 had with it's shop and the price change that selling/buying items refunds 100% of the value merges the item box and shop concepts. There's a lot of good ideas and the resource balancing for Grace is pretty good this time around. Crafting the injectors is basically always the correct choice though unless you get hit since it kills enemies in only a few shots and the game gives her plenty of handgun ammo without needing to craft it. I also like that we fight a lot of older enemies because it's always been assumed that the newer stuff was more dangerous because they're faster/more intelligent. But actually getting to kill a tyrant in a 1v1 without a rocket launcher or vat of acid or pushing it out of a plane is very satisfying it's one of the ways that the callbacks work very well when they're not sniffing their own farts.

new resident evil game idea. there's a bioterror attack in India and tofu has to get sent in to stop the jeets raping the B.O.W.s
No one would even notice a BOW attack in India, it's already a diseased chaotic hell zone.

It would result in a dramatic loss of Jeet life, which can only improve India, and the world, can it even called a terror attack?

Literally just RE 5 again except you get to kill everyone and steal their gold. Promote Josh as main and have the Persianist looking Indian women as his sidekick and that game would be meme heaven

you were almost a Jill rape victim.

let's hope this isn't Chris' diarrhea.

imagine Umbrella hired an Indian CEO and fired all the competent researchers/executives like Birkin, Marcus, Ashford etc. replaced them with other Indians and the whole raccoon city incident was averted because of their incompetence.
