Been playing it since yesterday thanks to the fact they unlocked the game in a time zone that is ahead of mine. Having a lot of fun with it even though the zombies can be a pain in the ass. Only criticism I have is why couldn't Leon at least check the deputy he failed to save at the gas station for some extra ammo (shot all my bullets into that zombie. No regrets doing that.) and why not search Marvin's corpse for some ammo since Marvin did pull a gun out on Leon.

The Sewers is gonna be a real treat since it means dealing with a new enemy that will eat more of my magnum and shotgun ammo.

UUUUGH Mr. X. I'm standing on top of the stairs in the police department hall watching this fucker below walking around and searching for me.

You can hear his footsteps first but you don't know from where the sound is coming. When he sees you, run or he rapes ur ass (not literally of course).
Best part of my Mr. X experience was seeing him on the second floor of the main hall on the other side, going into a door to an area I never been too. Made me laugh internally since I thought he'd notice me on the bottom floor. Also the fact he can climb stairs makes him even more fearsome than Nemesis.

Sometimes he notices you. Recently I was on the third floor and watched him walking around on the second floor. Suddenly he turned his head, looked at me and walked into the library to get to the third floor.

I’ve already forgotten where the weapon keycard was. I want my shotgun.
They changed the location from the demo. Forgot where exactly but as a tip that can spoil, remember to walk in the area outside the locker room. Lickers will make it their home and the lickers can go fuck themselves.

Beat Leon A on standard, got a B grade. Glad survival was put back into survival horror.

Cool seeing the changes or how they reappropriated some scenes.

Rumor has it RE3 remake is already underway but I don't know how they can top Nemesis when Mr. X filled his shoes better than Nemesis ever did.

It's in the art storeroom on the 2nf floor, west wing next to the emporer statue.

mr x is fuckin spooking me out:stress:, i thought i would be safe if i heard his footsteps and walked slowly, but sometimes he just steps out of a corner to molest me

After thinking about it, I think I still prefer the original, not that the remake is bad but some of the story stuff is eh.

Leon and Claire barely interact in this. In the original, they crossed paths at least twice in the station and keep each other up to date over the radio.

In this, they see each other through a gate once at the station and have a painfully awkward conversation and then I kind of forgot all about Claire until Leon sees her on a monitor at the end in the labs.

Call it nitpicking but I liked the originals story because it was two halves to a bigger story where I guess this is arguably the same, I'm sure not feeling it, even on the second run. Feels more like RE1.

Having beaten the game on Leon's scenario, I'm now trying out Claire's scenario. Anyone that played the original where you meet the licker for the first time, it's back and with how lickers are, I'm saving up any flashbang I find. Fuck the lickers.

Capcom gave the Lickers anuses. Why the hell did I zoom in?

I guess they were so proud of their cool engine that they were like: Let's model dog balls and Licker buttholes. RE engine yeeeeah!1
Even worse: they actually modeled not just the balls of the dogs and anuses of the lickers, they even model areas where they're suppose to have dicks. Thanks Capcom, you did something even more horrifying than a zombie biting me from behind when I enter a new room.

I hope this sells a bajillion copies. Not only because it's a great game but because every copy sold gets further towards my dream of PS4 Parasite Eve 1 & 2 remakes.

Beat Leon A and Claire B, now doing a Leon B play. All standard difficulty. Really liked it, preferred Claires mode weirdly as I prefer Leon's usually. My biggest gripe and I don't know if I'm just being a baby but... The hitbox. One minute I can run past a zombie no sweat, the next I'm groped by one standing a good meter away. Maybe I'm just terrible at dodging.

I wouldn't hold out on that unless Squeenix wants to pay the author of the original book royalties again and 3rd Birthday was proof they wont.

First game heavily references the original novel with Maeda recapping it to the characters.

Notice how they erased any mention of mitochondria in the archives of that game and Aya just has nebulous magic powers?

Playing this with Dolby Atmos on creeped me the fuck out.
And as a personal challenge, I shot his hat off on both runs.

Hardcore mode is a shitshow and is ruining my first run fun. 10+ shots in the face and zombies are still getting back up. Tearing down a hall being chased by X, lickers and zombies all at once and they're literally falling over each other and me as well. 14 shotgun shells + 40 9mm + 2 grenades to make Willy B fuck off for a while. Dogs running into walls then vanishing behind you.

I wish they'd just let you choose between autosave or ink ribbons on normal.

Ok, I've played RE2 Original before the REMake and there are a lot of things I feel I need to say.

First of all the game is really good at creating atmosphere. Corpses always remain no matter how far you are into the story. I have returned from the sewers to the RPD to find the corpse of Elliot still in the watchman's room. Zombies are good at faking death only to get up later. I've had several times where a zombie I've walked past several times has suddenly attacked me, having faked its death. Nothing beats that fear of whether a zombie is actually dead. Plus the amount of corpses in the station makes it difficult to tell who's dead and who's waiting for you to turn your back.

Mr X is honestly the best part of the game. He relentlessly chases you throughout the precinct and is only identified of being close by the sound of his stomping, which doesn't tell you exactly where he is.

The best part was having found the jack in the confiscation room he will come through the door you just unlocked, wedging you between the door you can unlock, and the door you can't unlock. This room has a heart key door and a club key door, you can't get both in a single playthrough so he traps you, never before have I felt fucked from being in a small room with a 9 foot monster

There are a few problems I had with the game, the music is nonexistant except for a few places. You can purchase the original soundtrack which is great for the front hall but everywhere else feels off.

David Ford, the operations reporter from the original, is named dropped several times and even has some more backstory, heavily hinting that Chief Irons forced him to kill a fellow police officer. He is never seen either alive or dead, nor is it explained where he is even though Elliot assumes he's still alive and with Marvin. I wish they included him but hopefully we see him in 3 Remake.

Has anyone else noticed the references to Outbreak? They mention the Raccoon City Zoo and Rita from the Desperat measures scenario. I'm thinking they might bring it back for online play.
