Haven't really been following the fanart scene for REVillage. Has there been any verdict on Lady D now that the game is out?

She's only in the game for like thirty minutes, maybe an hour. She's not even hot, and if it weren't for the prerelease marketing I wouldn't have guessed she'd be a fan favorite. Her daughters are hot, and it would have been fun to see more of them, even if I can't tell any of them apart. And Lady D herself isn't a shit character by any means - just doesn't seem that special, or at least, seems under-utilized.

I've been seeing isolated reports of D fans who feel they were lied to, but how big is the backlash, really? Has the fandom been disillusioned by the game, or is D still Queen Bowsette II?

They can have her

Also it’s the section of the game where you literally have no way to defend yourself. All you can do is run and hide.
This is honestly why I'm a little afraid to get the game now because I might end up being too chicken to progress past that part. I don't do well in horror games where you can't defend yourself; I often get too nervous to play more than a few minutes. Doesn't help that this thing is way creepier than most horror game monsters.

Rose’s model is apparently rigged in such a way that doing this is piss easy. Chris just happens to be the obvious choice due to all the jokes about continuing the Redfield bloodline.
She hardly ever moves and has only the expressions eyes open and mouth open.

The ending cinematic can be set up that you can clearly see Who the man by the van in the time skip is even in photo mode in game without outside tools, so saying it's not intentional that it's Ethan is a wide stretch at this point.

Finally beat it. My problem last time was that I wasted too much of my first aid med.
I'll admit that Ethan grew on me; him dying was obvious but the ending was more emotional than I was expecting. Guess this guarantees Rose is gonna be the protagonist of the next game.
Overall I thought it was very good, solid 8/10. Here's hoping we get some DLC that delves more into the four lords.
Did anyone find that it was fun but kind of... not satisfying in terms of puzzle difficulty? Felt more about just finding the key than figuring out hte solution
Yeah the puzzles were insanely easy. Not a big deal but they could've put more thought into them.

Casuals HATE puzzles. I see this a lot in indie horror scene.
Imagine having SH2 level of puzzle difficulties today.

in a hypothetical case in which this wasnt plain asset recycling, im curious what sort of bullshit capcom would have to come up with to have this beloved npc still be alive

Overall I think this game had a lot of problems:

1. The story was extremely convoluted, especially compared to how the narratives unfolded in in 7, the Remake of 2, and the Remake of 3. It also relied too much on characters acting stupid (Chris) to propel it forward.

2. The setting wasn't very coherent - the Doll House & the Factory felt like they were ripped from 2 completely different games. And I liked them.

3. Too many villains - they should have focused on the Werewolves, the Vampires, and Mother Miranda as the Big Bad (maybe the Fishman could be included as well. Maybe). Bienviento and Heisenberg should have been set aside to be used in something else.

4. Mold = magic, basically. This also goes back to the coherency issue, too - none of the monsters that were actually made by the Mold felt very err...moldy. In fact, it would have made more sense to say they were all the products of something like the G-Virus or whatever instead.

5. Kind of minor, but all of the files read like they were written by a 5th grader. And, speaking of the files, the connection to Umbrella revealed therein was so weak they should have taken it entirely and left it a mystery.

It sucks too, because the game is fun. But I think all of the above really, really hold it back. Having said that, I do wonder how much Covid-19 interfered in the development, especially since Japan was one of the first countries to lockdown.

I also wouldn't be at all surprised if this game originally started out as a new IP before becoming a RE game.

Duke is best deathfat, the next step for game journos who called the game fatphobic because of him even though it puts him in a positive light will be to move the goalposts and complain that fat men are liked better than fat women.

I for one am excited over the possibility of a Rose Winters game #BlondeSupremacy, but I don't think she'll be the next protagonist, judging by this franchise' history. Maybe in Revelations 3.

I believe RE9 will be about Chris going after BSAA or whatever. I hope to see him retired with Jill already.
Jill...I got a revalation. I'm not getting younger, and i want to continue the redfield bloodline. Will you be my Jill sandwitch?
