Alright so am I crazy or did a ton of posts just disappear?

alright so apparently an entire day of data was lost, so I’m not crazy.

As I said before the posts got baleeted it's neat how RE0 is like a hodgepodge of many different elements of the series up that point, the training facility feels like a cross between the Spencer mansion and the RPD police station (complete with various bits of artwork laying around), the underground torture chamber is straight out of Code Veronica and you revisit a few of the factory areas directly from RE2 as well as similar areas nearby, the only thing it's missing is time spent on Racoon city streets, which I always wanted to see in that REmake/RE0 style but it was sadly not meant to be.

Since 0 was the last game made in the classic style it acts as a neat little send off to that era of the series.

Still haven't started REmake, got no time to play it properly, so for now I'm playing RE6. I know it's probably the worst of the series, but it's really grab-n-play and perfect for quick games.

Before the site interruption, we were talking about RE0, and whether it's underrated.

One thing I'll say for RE0 (and CV and RE2 classic); it makes way more sense the way it goes about the character-swap thing. With 2make, every character is in two places at once, the timeline is too crazy...and if you factor in Hunk and all the back-tracking (why am I developing photos when Sherry/Ada is stuck in a trash compactor?), there are even more reasons why it couldn't work.

The official word from the director is: the scenario you pick is canon. So essentially, in REmake and 2make, one character does all of the work, and the other cleans up after them.

As much as I love the RE2 remake we got, I do wish I could slip into an alternate universe where we got RE2 and RE3 remakes on the GameCube in the REmake style, it would have been cool as hell to see Racoon city in that hyperdetailed pre-rendered style.

I wonder if that had been Capcom's original plan but REmake and RE0 didn't sell well enough?

So apparently a leaker says Resident Evil Outrage is supposed to be shown at a Nintendo direct in September. Either way, it’ll likely be shown next month because of TGS and this “Nintendo direct.” Now, this isn’t Dusk Golem who’s saying this so the chances are higher just because of that, but I won’t hold my breath.

it’s this, and from a few weeks ago. https://mobile.twitter.com/SamusHunter2/status/1420121048507371522
This leaker however doesn’t seem well known in the industry, or maybe she is, so the credibility is questionable.

so after doing some “research” on her she doesn’t seem to be very reliable unfortunately. That doesn’t cross out TGS though.

she also apparently does the exact same shit as Dusk Golem so that’s a real shame.

I learned something that fucks with me.
In Original RE2, when you examine Jill's desk, it says that it has a picture of her boyfriend.
In the Remake, there's a picture of a dog.
I know it's nothing, but still I found that hilarious.

Hang on. Isn't she house-bound with PTSD from the mansion incident? You know, remember THIS?

Call it hindsight being 2020 the landscape of gaming has changed a lot since 1998, and I doubt Capcom would be as Open to suggesting a lady of gaming like Jill has a boyfriend in current year.

Okay, I'm finally starting REmake again
Chris or Jill?

So the resident evil Fanbase is collectively losing their minds because of this tweet.

Basically people are guessing that RE4 remake will be revealed at gamescom in 2-4 days. Honestly it’s probably just a trailer for the dlc, but if true, that’s very interesting.

Now this is confusing because outrage is supposed to release first, so if it’s any game it’s probably that. It’s very vague but a tweet like this next to a big event is interesting indeed.

Leon in the OG timeline was dealing with a pretty bad breakup...

I guess that's one positive thing that can be said for that character switching system.

I swear to christ 1/3 of my time spent in that game was inventory management/picking shit up from the floor. It does so much to ruin the replay experience. I would've preffered the old item boxes or a single character with more item slots (even tho that might've ended up being OP).

Code Veronica is a strange beast, at times it represents the series at it's best, the Ashford's are some of RE's best villains, but unfortunately it's got some real flaws.

My main issue is too much time is spent in generic industrial type environments that are sometimes reused in ways that reek of pure filler, it really needed more areas like the Ashford private residence.

It's definitely worth playing at least once though.
They would probably rework Alfred's troon tendencies and give Claire looser jeans. Both of which would make the game suffer IMO.

I should not be as thirsty over a video game character as CV Claire makes me.

Playng REmake with Jill, it's good and all as I remembered it... but I had forgot about the broken doorknob. I like Crimson Heads and all the triggers of backtracking, but that broken doorknob is just there to lenghten the first part of the game, come on

I finished Resident Evil Outbreak File 2, that final scenario is miserably difficult at times, in some ways easier than the final scenario in the first game because at least you can save midway through, but in some ways it's harder.

Like the first Outbreak I had never beaten the final scenario before, so it feels pretty good to finally finish these games after 17/16 years, it's also cool to finally see what life for my favorite character in the games, Cindy, is like after Raccoon City.

Now it's just a question of if I want to play RE5 next, twice I have tried but it's failed to hold my interest until I can finish it, but now having played all the others I am curious about the story, even if some aspects I don't like.

Indeed, Claire is really hot in the game and it'd be a travesty not to keep those tight jeans.

At point she even calls Alfred a "cross dressing freak" lmao, I feel like the plotline should still be allowed because it's a case of split personality ala Pyscho, it isn't that Alfred is literally supposed to be trans, can't expect SJWs to understand nuance though.

I mean heck, the fact that the ultimate villain of the game is female would probably piss SJWs off, especially since her goal to turn humanity into a hive mind under her control, which is what SJWs want to do.
