Accusing somebody of hosting CSAM is defamation per se. You don't have to show damages in a defamation per se suit.
You have to eventually. The presumption of damages in defamation per se is relevant when facing a motion to dismiss. You don't have to prove damages at that point. You do eventually have to prove damages to collect. So, for instance, when Elon Musk called that caver a "pedo guy," this was presumed defamatory, but he ultimately won the case after it went to trial.

It's hard to tell what goes on in the mind of a jury without a specific questionnaire, but they either didn't believe anyone took it as a serious statement or that it actually caused him any real damages, either because it was obvious Musk was just being a dick or for whatever reason they didn't believe it.

Of course if you aren't Elon Musk with infinite money, just having to go to trial is a punishment of sorts.
It's not about the money, it's about sending a message.
It is always ultimately about money. Anyone who thinks courts are about justice is cruising for a bruising.

This site ls literally made to make fun of people who sue for that.
There's calling someone fat or a faggot, then there's accusing someone of something heinous, like being a purveyor of pedo porn.

Our lolcow of the year, Rekieta, is in hot water because he claimed Montegraph sucks little boy dicks.

Montegraph is a legit weirdo, but even weirdos don't deserve to be falsely accused of crimes against children.

If you can't understand this I don't know what to say.

Jackie joins in. They're sending stuff to namecheap.

You're right. it's just that all the discussion has been centered on damages and fucking with Epik themselves that the peripheral consequences that are the really important ones hadn't been discussed much in the thread.
Yes it has. Again, and again and again from many different angles.

Go sit in the fucking corner.

Jackie thinks this is a cybercrime forum. What a great cyber security expert.

Strike while the iron is hot Josh, blood is boiling right now seeing the site get so blatantly fucked with. The other shit is whatever, call this place toxic, transphobic, racist whatever but don't lie about hosting child pornography. Shit has to end now. I need to see on the Wikipedia page that Epik lost a court case accusing the Kiwifarms of hosting child porn so I can point to it whenever people start sperging about the site.

Hahahahahaha. Yea, that's never going to happen. Null could win a case at the Supreme Court and it wouldn't be mentioned in Wikipedia.

It's going to be very simple and basically just a payment mechanism.
Consider adding a progress counter too that you can update daily or weekly as needed. There's a reason why all crowd-funding sites do it. People will be more hesitant to donate (or donate their full intended amount) if they think the total won't be met and that their money will just be wasted instead.

There's plenty of other good reasons to do it too and should be simple enough to add and update manually.

It won't be wasted regardless. I've footed the bills for lawsuits out of merch money for years, there's ongoing litigation even if we don't sue, and there will be a perpetual need for a defense fund moving forward.

Just curious, how secure will the site be? I can already envision seething trannies trying to get card info and DDoS-ing the site.

Your browser serializes the form data, sends it directly to the payment network. The payment network returns to you a token. Your browser sends the token and the amount to the backend. The backend uses your token and the amount you want to pay, signs it with its private key, and sends it to the payment network. The payment network authorizes the charge. No FIN touches the backend.

I'm working on the site now. It's going to be very simple and basically just a payment mechanism.

i'm glad you're adding this i tried to buy bitcoin but i dont have a smartphone because the government and bill gates created 5G to kill my sperm and the last time i bought bitcoin the most popular method was to use an exchange site and give bank details in a private message and then go into a bank and put a cash deposit in their account then they would confirm the payment and send the bitcoin and then you send the bitcoin to a wallet on your live tails distro usb and then send it to silkroad and buy unreglulated research chemicals sandwiches but the exchange site i used isn't active anymore and it's been a long weekend in australia and i dont have a smartphone because the government and steve jobs created 5G to kill my sperm
