As much as I'd love to see it happen, I doubt the Farms will win. They just have to find something that looks like CP while emphasizing that Kiwifarms is a suicide harassment murder forum where Nazis go to plan hate crimes ran by pedophile cyberterrorist Josh Moon (just like Wikipedia and the media says). Put that before a jury and they win. Put that before half the leftist judges in this country and guess who they'll side with. And that's before potential lawyer fucks up like Ty Beard or the lawyer in the Billy Mitchell lawsuit.

The justice system in this country is basically dead.

CP/CSAM is a defined legal term. There might be minorish differences depending on the US jurisdiction (for example I know in some places drawn CP/CSAM is a crime while in other places it is not, and I know in some places simply viewing CP/CSAM is a crime while in other places you have to download it) but that being said, it is 100% a defined legal term that can not be argued nor can you saw "owo my tranny fwends say it is" because that doesn't hold up in court (and if some lower court judge says it does I bet you a higher one disagrees).

For example if I wanted to call you a pedophile and not open myself up to a lawsuit I would have to have substantial proof that you are into or have wanted to or have fucked a child. My word means nothing in a court of law.

Hope that explains.

Let me reiterate. Im very retarded. How does one do a money order? Take my money jersh
If you’re in the US, you can pretty much go to any big grocery store (the customer service desk) and just say “hey, I need a money order for $100” and hand them the $100 plus whatever small fee they charge (like a dollar, maybe? I don’t remember) and they’ll print it out right then and you can send that bad boy over to our dear leader
E: You can also get ‘em at the post office

Has this ever happened ever that a lie was repeated so often that it was excusable for people to repeat it later down the line?
As I understand it, if the person repeating a lie thought it was true, it's a strong argument against defamation. I guess the idea is you have to sue the original liar, not people "innocently" parroting it.

What are the odds of a law-themed image of kiwis and the Slobbermutt appearing in a merch run for this? One of those where you list it at a normal price, but allow buyers to input any amount they want that goes above the asking price would be lovely.
I second this, if nothing else people might be able to donate small amount of money if they can get something tangible out of it. People who would be liable to donate larger chunks anyways can name their own price and donate it to you anyways.
You get more donations at a small cost it takes to print a patch or a shirt, there were enough sale drives done before that you would know if this is economically feasible or not.
I can already imagine some fun lawsuit themed designs

@Null Things are moving faster than I can keep up so sorry if this has been answered. Are you keeping crypto donations for the legal fund separate from site donations, or will they be co-mingled. I'm pledging a few hundred but wanted to hold off to see if you were setting up new wallets for that purpose. If not, I'm happy to donate to the site wallets.

My prefered form of giving money would be if Null does livestreams where he would play songs or videos for payment. And not small sums. Like 5 bucks per 30 seconds. I think it would attract whales who would pay 500 dollars to play a couple minutes of anime and be peak entertainment.
I actually agree with this, but moreso for random news things. I'd like a 30 minute segment where Josh watches 20 second clips of the current state of the Gay Homo Faggotry States of Muttmerica.

He's setting up an escrow for legal funds.
Has this ever happened ever that a lie was repeated so often that it was excusable for people to repeat it later down the line? Did the case fall through already due to lack of past suits over such claims? Surely the law wouldn't require you to sue every troon that breathes the same phrase that a larger corpo then says out in the open. Maybe I'm being optimistic here but I don't think you have to crack down on prior instances of defamatory statements to still be able to act on a new arrival. Right?
He said he's already talked with his lawyer, so presumably it's fine.

Because of my choice of escrow attorney and his membership with the Vermont state bar, which has banned crypto as a form of legal payment, I will be unable to accept crypto for the escrow.

I have one concern for the lawsuit that I'd rather post on a legal thread but guess I'll just dump here for now:

Wouldn't part of proving defamation be the knowledge that the statement was false? Sounds like a pretty good way to lose 75 grand if they can just drop the case by saying "my twanny frens say it aaaaaaall the twme, how cwould I know it wasn't twooo"?

Wikipedia says nothing about it as of today but I'm sure they can find a couple hundred tweets echoing the lie, a clip from Lucas' stream or even fabricate a page on some website tomorrow that they can use to claim they believed it was a true statement at the time they were writing it.

By all means let's fucking sue someone and do our part in taking back the Internet - but is trying to sue for notably hard to litigate defamation perhaps not the best use of our collective money? The CP claim is probably what most people see as the aggravating part of the statement but does it make a solid case?
Committing per se defamation (that's what this is) puts you in a much less defensible position. Saying "some anonymous troon said it was true" after the fact is not a good defense because it sounds either made up or like it was repeated with reckless disregard to the truth. They COULD have said "I've seen allegations that there was CSAM on 8 chan and kiwifarms" but that's not what they said- instead, it's presented as a matter of fact. And I think a neutral observer would read their statement as being one where they had specific knowledge of the offense, given the context.

It's about as defamatory as you can get.

I'm thinking the UK equivalent (postal order) wouldn't work and it'd have to be something like a Western Union transfer, which both leaves more of a paper trail (as you've got to use ID) and also I suspect the escrow attorney is not going to want to fuck around with cashing those.

If you have a paypal account and you don't care about privacy you can buy and transfer crypto on their website.
