I think one question will be once the Escrow is setup for checks, etc. Since it's a lawyer could that information be subject to subpoena/discovery. I was unable to find out how that usually works.
A Legal Escrow account is a way to insure transparency, as well as tax accounting, as money put into the escrow does not count as general income.

For example, Null can't use the money in the Escrow account to but a new Server for the Kiwifarms. It exists solely for the purposes of paying legal expenses. The benefit for such restriction though is people can be confident the money donated will be used for the Stated purposes, and Null also won't have to claim it as general income when Lolcow LLC files its taxes.

Like why did they think this was a good idea. there's no way that they can argue honest belief or good faith here. the data to determine the images age is right next to the image...
No reasonable person would consider this CP...
How badly did they just shoot themselves in the foot?

Fear of legal retribution when you have nothing to back up your shit tends to lead to stupid mistakes

In the Byzantine tale of kiwifarms.net, we witness a Byzantine labyrinth of corporate malaise, where the denizens of the internet's underbelly collide with the capricious winds of domain registrars. Epik's haphazard governance, akin to a ship navigating stormy seas without a competent captain, raises questions not only about their commitment to the First Amendment but also their ability to steer a principled course.

The suspension, ostensibly based on violating terms of service without elucidation, echoes the authoritarian penchant for censorship without due process—a recurring theme in the annals of online discourse. The quagmire of Epik's internal strife and restructuring reflects a tale of hubris and subsequent chaos, reminiscent of empires in decline.

The ideological vacillations, from the pro-1A stance to a blanket ban on imageboards, expose the fragility of corporate promises in an industry marked by tumultuous shifts. Brian Royce's assurances, now null and void, underline the transient nature of fidelity in the digital realm.

Epik LLC's enigmatic ownership, shrouded in deliberate obscurity, casts shadows reminiscent of clandestine machinations. As kiwifarms.net faces domain seizures from various platforms, the narrative becomes a cautionary tale for those navigating the turbulent waters of online expression.

In conclusion, the saga of kiwifarms.net is a tapestry woven with the threads of internet freedom, corporate capriciousness, and the perennial struggle between authority and dissent. It beckons us to scrutinize not just the specific episode but the broader implications for the precarious landscape of digital discourse etc.
