Resurgent Doubts Of Helen Keller’s Authenticity. - Are the zoomers on to something here?

I just learned through a rabbit hole of articles, videos, and comments that apparently quite a lot of Zoomers think Helen Keller was a fraud. I was somewhat further surprised to find out that the general reaction to this seems to be not dissimilar to how people react when you question details of The Holocaust in so far as you just straight up aren’t allowed to bring it up and if you do there will be no discourse or attempt to educate you on the the subject, instead you will be ridiculed and shunned.

This is all to say I had never really thought much about Helen Keller’s situation before. I knew I found it strange but never exactly hard to believe I suppose. It’s just one of those facts people seem to take for granted. However this new trend and more specifically the reaction to it has me more seriously doubting the frankly now that I look at them ridiculous claims of Helen’s many accomplishments. Never thought I’d be siding with Tick-Tockers but here we are.

What do you think about all this? Had you heard about it before now? I couldn’t find a thread on it so I figured this might be okay.

I'm not really inclined to care about whether or not zoomers have a point, seeing as how the bitch has been dead for over half a century and nothing about her story is really interesting.
They claim she flew a plane. I think that’s interesting considering she was supposedly 100% blind and deaf. I looked that up by the way. Wasn’t entirely sure she was which would have been a perfect way to explain the inconsistencies but no, everything I found claimed she was entirely blind and deaf, yet somehow flew a place across The Mediterranean.

I'll take "things that never happened" for $200, Alex.

I'm not really familiar with her story outside of vague details, but the first article I saw on it seems to suggest that she'd already been familiarized somewhat with planes and their controls due to the movie based on her life including a scene of her "flying" one, and the Mediterranean flight was her basically holding the controls steady for about twenty minutes from the co-pilot's chair after they'd already taken off.

Is there a specific claim regarding this being false? I'm curious now. It sounds mostly like people just assuming she did take-off, flying, and landing all solo. Or is this all just a meme?

This is cool and all, but I'm still baffled by the fact that nobody ever questions the facts surrounding the extinction of the passenger pigeon. Supposedly they would fly in flocks of literal billions and somehow people shooting at them with guns from the ground drove them to extinction in only a few decades.

My assumption has always been as you described, that if it happened it must have been her just sitting there while someone held the controls with her. However, it seems just from what I’ve skimmed off Google and YouTube the last several days that there are genuinely quite a lot of people who believe she somehow accomplished a real flight, and if you tell them that couldn’t happen they get hyper defensive about it.

Zoomers can't grasp how a woman with so much working against her was able to function as well as she did. A physically able zoomer has trouble chewing gum and walking at the same time without collapsing, so a blind and deaf woman who was able to do anything for herself is totally beyond their comprehension.

People jerkoff to this?
Yeah bruv. Everyone loves Pippa. It's not like she is a disgusting little gremlin who lives in filth and squalor.
