And they say the slippery slope doesn't exist.

I've also found out Scott was formerly a devleloper for Rare and Eurocom. But not the cool 90s Rare. The sad, washed up 2010s Rare. Goldeneye 007 Reloaded was what gave him the idea for RetroAchievements. He's also a UK fag. Which honestly explains a lot. Can we get the website in the hands of an American?

The most interesting tidbit from the bahamutvoid files. If that's real and not made up by the "online anime girl", then even potential competitors will hit the wall at some point.

Dolphin accepted the premise of terrorists. There isn't going to be anything that's going to measure up to the all the purity tests anyway, let alone get to a point where they get in the good graces of Dolphin and Horizon.

By the way I talked to Scott myself. He has a victim mentality and a tendency to gaslight, possibly a severely narcissistic individual.

Immediately whenever I confronted him in dms he starts really playing the vulnerable game when in reality he has all the tools to fix the problem. He attempted to gaslight me telling me my account was not deleted, but my account was deleted, only the legacy page is still up.

It's clear that he thinks he is above the law, committing a clear breach of contract multiple times and then lying about it. He has broken his side of the User's Code of Conduct and for that depending on local laws it might be possible to sue if anyone is willing to go so far.

I advise anyone who has been banned and deleted from retroachivements to look through the User's Code of Conduct, as for non serious offenses you are supposed to be provided a warning. Also, while there is a section detailing that Retroachivements is not a "Bastion of free speech" Your rights have possibly been violated either way because earlier in the document it lists a bunch of reasons a administrator may punish you, but if you left simple respectful criticism and got banned, the administrator violated a legal contract. If you got banned and the administrator did not act "diplomatic" or leave a warning for a non-serious offense or pubished you for not breaking the User's Code of Conduct then they violated a legal contract. This contract is bound to the website's owners and you, the user the second you sign up.

What are the chances that most (if not all) emulators cut support towards RA? Would the drama alone make them start wondering if it's even worth it to not abandon a sinking ship by the looks of things?

Can you elaborate on this? I'm not fully in-the-know concerning this Dolphin drama.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm not fully in-the-know concerning this Dolphin drama.
Dolphin being open source and having a dev fork was the only reason why Gamecube games and soon Wii games are able to have sets. The Dolphin team was extremely difficult in working with and has been for years, from the words of a few different Developers. Essentially, much of the work was done on the RA side. This lack of cooperation was why it took a while to clean up complications from the GC rollout.

Right now, I can think of only one way to force emulators to drop RA: make supporting it a hustle that’s bigger than it’s worth. RetroAchievements community has a huge vulnerability stemming from its obsession with hardcore points (those earned with certain emulator features turned off). The site's team constantly bitches about cheats and emulator exploits. I don't know the inner workings, but it seems that when new exploits are discovered, RA reports them to emulator devs. As a result, users have to update their emulators from time to time to get updates that fix these exploits.

Thing is, RetroArch has had a major problem for years: when you disable your current audio output device, the emulator slows down, which is helpful for games that require quick reactions. This is a known issue, but it seems like RetroArch is too big and slow to fix it. Maybe they simply don't care. I'm sure other users are aware of more RetroArch quirks, these should be compiled into a nice looking list and distributed to destabilize the hardcore points economy and force RetroArch to fix them or discontinue the support\tell hardcore points junkies to fuck off (which is more likely).

I'm just wondering what the whole "Dolphin and Horizon threatening to pull support" stuff is about
Exactly what happened to RA in the first place. Why stop at RA, when you can go after anything that has RA integration? Either those teams ate the same threats by association, or a tranny on the inside pressured the rest to toe the line.

Longtime Developer ThatAmericanSlacker resigns from the site and developer role over conflicts with admins over Wii's launch.
Slacker here. I’ve seen devs come and go during the years I’ve been here and I knew one day I too would have to step away from being a developer. I just wish that now that my time has come, it was on better terms.

The Lead Up

My reasons for leaving didn’t come out of the blue. I’ve felt this way for a while but I just want to emphasize how unwelcome I’ve felt at times. Not just from players but from fellow devs. It’s one thing to get angry comments from randos and players for revising games they mastered. It’s another thing for now disgraced devs (Alfex, goto) to have issues with me. But when you get that from the admins and higher staff members, it starts to paint a clear picture that people never wanted me around. That they were just putting up with me rather than working with me. I’d make suggestions on things that can improve the site or the toolkit and just get shut down immediately… if i got a response at all. This is something I’ve experienced throughout not just devving but my life in general. It just made me feel like my voice not only didn’t matter but that what I was saying was stupid BECAUSE it came from me. There is one suggestion I made that snuck through though. I told drisc that it’d be cool if we had a separate notification for tickets. He made a mockup of it, and it was accepted. Thanks for hearing me out btw man.

The Pitch

I felt like things would finally change when they opened up positions for the rollout crew. I felt I was a perfect fit: I love messing with emulators, RA or not, I wanted to help bring new systems to the site, and I had a powerful rig that could handle anything. A few weeks later I was accepted. I won’t go into too much detail here since leaking things is the “official” reason I was removed off the team but I’ll get to that in a bit. I realized very quickly that the rollout crew was a lot of talk and not much doing. In fact, wes DM’d me saying how he didn’t want me discouraged since I was one of the few people actually doing things and testing things. Yet even here my enthusiasm was considered concerning and my later cautions were just handwaved. I never let it go that Gamecube released without the ability to load player states and every time I got the same response: “it was totally the Dolphin devs who pressured us just trust me bro!” No evidence presented of course, no DMs, no nothing. Once again, my voice not only didn’t matter, it was considered WORTHLESS. But it’s how I found out I was kicked off the team that was the last straw. Because despite being a valid reason, there’s no excuse for the lack of professionalism here.

Strikeout

So a little more leadup going into this. If there’s anything I’ve learned in the past week it’s that the admins are a “shoot first ask questions later” type. Within the span of literal hours it was decided that not only were we going to start preparing for Wii’s rollout but that the surveys were to start that very night. The “hype video” as Sting called it was made by me and I requested to post it since I was the one who made it. It’s pretty easy to confuse “dev news” and “devs chat” when they look similar in Discord. I just got my wires crossed. Rest of the week was figuring out stuff we should have figured out BEFORE announcing but hey what do I know, I was just the guy saying maybe we should have our ducks in a row before going balls into something. You know, the dentist is a pretty bad place for people to suddenly find out they’ve been kicked out of something. I know that part isn’t relevant but imagine my confusion when tapping on a post to go to it and suddenly realizing that chat is gone. I messaged Nepiki who came back from dinner just as confused as I was. Eventually they got told to tell me that I should contact the admins on the website. Nepiki themselves admitted this wasn’t a good look. Within minutes I got a response back that I was let go for “leaking sensitive information”. I’m not going to argue that part. I couldn’t keep my mouth shut enough. But the fact that this is what I had to do to know why I was let go is inexcusable. No message on Discord before this, no message on site before this, just “how long until he notices lol”. This isn’t a rage quit. It’s the last straw that made me realize how unwelcome I actually was here.

Even if I come back as a dev again I don’t think I’ll rejoin rollout crew. Or any of the teams for that matter. Especially if THIS is how they treat you. The message finally landed: nothing I ever did was good enough, and nothing I could do would ever be good enough. Not for the players, not for my fellow devs, not for the admins. I’m not even mad. I’m just disappointed in myself for not realizing this sooner.

One Last Story, or Why I Didn’t Get to Dev Sly 2

Since I’m heading out I figure I’d talk about the only dev I actually had something personal against. He’s no longer a dev fortunately but I think this story still ties into the overall theme of feeling unwelcome here.

So at one point I was going to work on Sly 2. Unfortunately multiple things piled up: I got distracted, DSi rollout, work, IRL stuff, ect and never got a chance to properly start on it. And then thegotoguy picked up Sly 3 “because someone told him to”. I told him maybe we should work together cause what one of us finds in one game could help with the other. What I got back was a passive aggressive “are you working on it.”. While there is a chance I might have interpreted this wrong at the start, the following interaction with him was all I needed. I’ll get to that in a sec but first what happened after I stopped “working on it.” I realized that thing at the time were getting too busy IRL and so I decided to drop a bunch of claims, Sly 2 included. Almost instantly, goto drops 3 and picks up 2. If that isn’t the definition of claim sniping I don’t know what is. He didn’t even DM me first. A couple weeks go by and I finally confront him about it. I go into DMs hoping this was all a misunderstanding and at first I thought it was….. And then he called me an asshole. And not in a joking way either. He then brought up, unprompted mind you, that I used to be a Code Reviewer (I had stepped down by this point). Why would he bring that up in the first place? Last thing he said was that I was the first person on the site who truly pissed him off. After that I pretty much tried avoiding him wherever I went, and he’s THE reason I can’t find it in myself to play Sly 2 or 3 for RA. Didn’t pay attention to what suspect did with 3 but at the very least that got touched by a competent dev.

The reason I didn't come forward about this when it happened was because goto had a golden boy reputation at the time, he was a code reviewer, and I felt that if I went to the higher ups about this they'd punish me instead. Given recent events, these fears were not unfounded.

This event is the reason I contacted devs who either previously claimed a game or even just left code notes on a game asking if they were fine with me taking it. I don’t like stepping on people’s toes and I personally know what it’s like for that basic courtesy to be ignored. I think it’s poetic that getting that exact treatment from site admins would be the final straw and the reason I would end up leaving.

What Would Have Been Next

In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m stepping out of Wii’s rollout. The game I picked was Sin and Punishment Star Successor. No idea who’s going to do that instead of me but whoever it is I wish you luck. There’s definitely pointers so good luck with those. I was also planning a subset for Mario Party 3. If you’re in DevComp you’re already aware of it: S Ranks on Super Hard in Story Mode. I also was developing plans for not one but two standalones. One would have been a technical collab with Souzooka though even if I said what game it was nobody would believe me. The one hint I’ll give for that is that it’s a modern game entirely coded in Lua which is why I sought Sou’s help in the first place. The other was The Movies. If you’ve never heard of it I can’t say I blame you. My main motivation behind giving it a set was to give people a reason to play it in the first place. Despite writing up a rough achievement plan I had no idea how integration would work so like the other one I would have had to find someone willing to help me out with that one. In terms of revisions the two games I had eyes on were Ape Escape 2 so I could finally fix the Monkey Climber cheevs and finally cover Dance Monkey Dance, and… Banjo Kazooie. Slash never responded to my DM asking to talk about it with him so that one might have been in the oven longer. But outside of that my main goal was to fix tickets on my own sets and beef up the sets I had already done. With the skills I accrued over the years I was bound to find new things to add or finally implement.

Where I’m Going Now

Some of you already know: Brainfreezerrr Studios. A Little startup I started because I couldn’t get a job, so I started my own company. We make comics, cartoons, and one day, video games. Not gonna shill anything from it here, but if you liked how I handled my sets you’ll enjoy what comes out of it. Even if I didn’t leave I’d be doing a lot less than I used to because of it. If you thought to yourself why I wasn’t churning out sets as often as I was in 2023, now you know why.

Will I Be Back?

To be honest, I don’t know. I loved being a dev, but right now being a part of this site is like being in a three way abusive relationship. I used to say it was like a second job but maybe that’s on me for not pacing myself properly. I’m not going to say “I’m never coming back!” but it’s still going to take more than an olive branch. I don’t even expect that since admins can’t be bothered to tell me I’m off a team unless I message them directly. I don’t expect anyone on this site to miss me that much. I think the comments on my profile show that better than anything else: half of it is just people making comments on how I was hacked last year. I’ve also noticed the bar for being a dev getting higher every year. When I graduated you weren’t expected to know how to use pointers. But this new breed of devs are far smarter than I can ever hope to be. Maybe I’m not skilled enough to be a dev anymore if this is the new standard.

Personal Shout Outs

I don’t want to end this on a sour note so I do want to say some things to people in case this is indeed goodbye. If your name’s not here, please don’t feel like you don’t matter. This site works because of everyone’s combined efforts and even if it’s just a little bit, what you do matters too.

Golla, you were always one of my favorite devs. Never had a bad moment with you. Hopefully when Xbox comes around you give Psychonauts a hell of a set (or Halo). Thanks for giving Okami and We Love Katamari sets, one day I’ll get the beaten badge for Okami. I just remembered when you were a CR looking at my RP for Mercury and being shocked at how big it was. It had to be: level ID was complicated!

Fridge, I’ll never forget that brief time we were both Jrs and you taught me how to ram dig proper. Seeing you’ve now done the official tutorials for devving makes me proud. Eventually I’ll get to Incredible Crisis, and I hope you dev more fishing games in the future.

Timenoe, you kill it on every set you’ve done. Sunshine is one of the best sets on the site and you’ve seriously tempted me to play Terraria. It takes a lot to do that. It would have been an honor to collab with you.

Gudra, jokes about getting your dev role taken away aside, you’re a great dev. Not everyone picks a game like Monster Hunter as a Jr, and I’m going through your Emerald revision now. I’m never gonna stop quoting you. Ever. I still believe you’re just a penguin with a keyboard.

TMO, you’re the best dev on the site, never forget that. One day I’ll get around to playing DQ8. Wish we could have collabed on something bigger. Would have loved to learn more off of you.

Wil, it was an honor collabing with you not once, but twice. I could only wish we could do it again and pull my own weight this time. Whenever something related to MGS pops up I can’t help but think of you. I Wil miss your dad jokes dearly. It’s been a pleasure working with you, Dr. Venkman.

Jordy, I hope the next Baldown is the best one ever. We need an exhibition match between Kiryu and Dante. Literal first time I met you was accidentally convincing you to reset your progress on a Dragonball game and hopefully that hasn’t happened again to you.

Pinguupinguu, I know you don’t have the highest opinion of me, but back when I was a CR I looked back at that chat and saw when you decided to promote me. Hopefully you don’t regret that decision. Thanks for giving me a chance.

suXin, Wipeout Pure’s set wouldn’t have been possible without you. If anyone should dev Pulse it’s you.

Tele, I remember a long time ago in DMs you said you appreciated the work I did. I don’t know if that’s still the case but figured I’d mention it. That stuck with me for a long time. I also remember you going “FINALLY” when I took Radiant Silvergun. I’m guessing people were afraid to touch it like Sin and Punishment.

Souzooka, you’re a wizard. Mercury is finally stable thanks to your help. I was definitely looking forward to working with you more, especially when it came to finally completing Ape Escape 2. That one standalone we were talking about is just gonna have to come from someone else now.

FBern, I know we definitely disagreed on removing the other hashes for the Spyros but thanks for letting me revise Crash 2. It’s one of my all time favorite games and being able to give it that last bit of oomph was an honor.

Delmaru, you’re another one of those devs that rarely misses. I always knew you would take Colosseum when GC rolled around. I was at work when you guys were deciding who was getting what with Persona 4 so if blended didn’t take the social stuff I would have done that. Wish I could have done more with that, but if you do Persona 5 I look forward to what you do with that.

Bryan, you were another of my fav devs. I hope you got Rhythm Heaven Fever. If you did you’re gonna do it justice.

Heiho, Kirby Air Ride was an amazing set. Glad I could help you figure some stuff out and hope you can one day top that.

Slash, I know the day you run out of N64 stuff to do is going to be a sad day for you. My only wish is that Witch Exterminator gets demoted. I wasn’t kidding about working on a revision to replace that but I guess that’s a what if now.

Lily, I still remember when you were first working on RADolphin. Seeing what it’s become now makes me proud. If you still want to do anything with Xenia, I’d still be interested in that. RA or not I still want to mess around with that.

Djlain, you were the true hero of the Sin and Punishment set. Thanks for also making me aware of the 60fps patch for Wipeout Pure. I still have that gorgeous strategy guide for the game we made challenges around. Hopefully whoever works on Star Successor gets the same advice you gave me.

Sines, my first memory of you is joking about how awful I was for revising Spyro and making it better. Competing with you to see who could get DQ15 was a pleasure even if you won in the end. Kinda sad the Baroque collab never panned out for us. One day we will know if I was a hero or a menace. And yes, I will keep that pic forever.

Bl4h, your passion for Saturn inspired me. At one point I debated trying to dev more Saturn games than you but I guess that’s another what if. Hopefully when DOS happens you’re able to do something for it.

Whithbrin, I will forever be grateful for your help on Wario World. Eventually I’ll get to the new stuff you added to Banjo Tooie. If it ever becomes possible to do a standalone set for the PC Sims games I hope you’re doing one of them.

Tomojin, the QA team is in very good hands with you on board. DOS is going to be amazing and it’ll be one of your finest moments.

Excess, the only thing holding you back is the games you choose to dev, lol. It was a pleasure working on Hero’s Tail with you and could only hope I could have done more. I mean, you did most of it while I was preparing my side lol.

Tybis, thanks for understanding when I was a Jr that couldn’t do much on his own to fix Daytona. Thanks for devving Echochrome, and I wish to see more of you.

KiwiTaco, some people have called you a clout chaser. I can’t disagree. But the difference between you and goto is that you’re actually a decent person. Just remember to give some hidden gems a shot. I know you can handle them.

Etron, you swiped Lumines from me nah I’m kidding. If anyone took that before me I’m glad it was you. Thanks for giving Rez a set, and for giving your blessing on me doing the PS2 port (even if it didn’t pan out). Wish you the best man.

TeddyWestside, thanks for teaching me that tip that made Burning Rangers’ set fully complete. Orb Aversion is something I’m dreading but hopefully I find a way to

Authorblues, i don’t know too much about you but I know the most important thing of all. If you didn’t get La Mulana I’m gonna be really upset.

stfN, people are still crediting me for your work on the Spyros and I correct them every time. It was an honor being the caretaker of the trilogy and I hope you and ChoccyMilk reunite to keep everyone’s experience of them golden. One day you’ll make another set that isn’t a hack lol.

SubliminalSiren, I still remember wanting to take Half Life, but let you have it because you also wanted to do it. I didn’t think it was fair for a CR to take a game away from a Jr who wanted to dev it. But also because I don’t like taking games away from people. My only gripe with you is that you made it harder to find a version of Doom to dev after that spree you went on. But that said, the 32XR version is a great port.

Xnaivx, even though you didn’t make the best first impression on me after Daytona, I can’t remember a bad memory since. The double team of praise from you and Etron on Space Harrier’s 32X set still holds a place in my heart. I remember back in the Jr program I mentioned how a different port of a game is a chance for a new dev to put their spin on it and I’m glad you agreed.

PsyHunter29, 1942 didn’t have a set for the longest time but thanks to you we finally gave it a set. While your name isn’t on the game page, I still consider you the co-author of the set. You did most of the code notes and badges after all. Your name should be beside mine but sadly the site doesn’t work that way.

Infernox, remember when Sly 1 was supposed to be a collab? No hard feelings for that btw, memory was super easy and if you still wanted to do that glitch subset you still have my blessing. I remember when Alundra was the most requested set for the longest time to the point it became a meme. Seeing that finally come out felt like the end of an era almost. People give you shit for the PS1 version of 102 Dalmatians but I loved it all the same. Actually, it’s because of that version I finally learned how to truly ram dig.

AfroRyan, you might not be a dev anymore but I was proud of you when you graduated with Sonic Pinball Party. Remember when I sucked at Pinball and had to leave the rest to you? Wherever you are now I hope that love of pinball still burns within you.

Shnick1980, loved working on Die Hard Trilogy with you and Pudpod. I just wish I was brought in under better circumstances but I want to keep things as positive as possible.

Searo, or as I should call you Based Goku, thanks for your hard work on the manual unlock team. Never had a bad memory with you and being there that one time I needed it. Phantasy Star 0 is on my to play list for sure.

Scott, not gonna lie, I’m gonna miss you a lot. Not just for founding the site but for those little moments that lift us all up. I remember the first time we were in the dev chat at the same time and your first reaction was being excited that I was working on International Track and Field. Even if it wasn’t for a dev quest I would have done that anyway cause why did it not have a set yet? Later you filed a ticket for Wipeout Pure and when we were working it out you said it was your favorite set on the entire site. Even if that’s no longer the case I don’t think I could imagine a higher honor than that. Hopefully you dev more sets one day.

abdalin, congrats on giving Dante’s Inferno a set. You did what I couldn’t as a Jr. Not sure how well you’re doing with Psychonauts: me, Fridge, and Golla collectively couldn’t figure it out so don’t beat yourself up too hard about it. We haven’t talked much but I see a little bit of myself in you. Keep on truckin.

Blaze, despite being a contrarian you definitely had a passion for racing games. Our set design philosophies differed a lot but I still wanted to collab with you at one point. Sadly it seems that will never happen.

Cobalt, you’re a cooler guy than “claims manager” makes you sound. It was nice talking to you every now and again. I still remember how me and you were the only set requests on Mercury. If it wasn’t AOTW at one point I would be asking more people to play it.

Falcus, you graduated right before me so I just want to say I’m glad at how far you’ve come.

Maddie, thanks for playing Pac N Roll. More people need to play that game.

Amir, I don’t think we’ve talked too much but I do know you did the LBs on Donkey Kong Colecovision so I just hope you’re doing well.

DanielARP, you not being a dev anymore makes me sad but I’m sure you have your reasons. Thanks for giving me your blessing on picking up Gradius V when your claim ran out even if Treasure decided to use scratchpad ram for everything. I’ll miss that Mr Bean pfp dearly.

Darky, I swear if you didn’t get Mario Kart Wii after all the work you put in i’m gonna burn the building down. I think I played Sonic DX Day 1 and despite how jank it is I’m gonna find a way to beat Sonic Heroes PS2. No matter what you dev, if I see your name on it I know it’s gonna be a good set at least.

Ghal, despite your troubles I can tell you’re a decent guy. Just make sure to test a bit more and whatever you get for Wii gets done in time. Don’t lose that passion you have.

Layton, you’ve never said it yourself but I’m sure your opinions on me are mixed. Thanks for giving the best Harvest Moon game a set, I’ll get to it eventually. If I were to keep going I would have offered to collab on What Did I Do To Deserve This My Lord 2. Thanks to your notes on the first one though I finally learned how the pointer notes thing worked. Hopefully you’re not disappointed by what I came up with.

Mogul, you’re a cool guy. I know you’ll like what I’m cooking at Brainfreezerrr so I doubt there won’t be more memories with you. If I end up coming back to RetroPals you’re the first person I’m pinging

Johan, thanks for your patience on Legend of Spyro. I’d give you a medal for going through all that if I could but I guess the mastery badge will have to do. I’d hug you if I could too but the internet doesn’t work that way.

S0uth, I hope you got Return to Dreamland. I know that was the one game you were gunning for. Mario Party 5 was also fun during the GC launch event so thanks for making the bar so low lol. Seriously though, keep going man.

Kinglink, I know getting tickets from you isn’t the best first impression but knowing you were an actual game dev gives me a new level of respect for you. If we ever get the other 7th gen systems I want to see your name on Saints Row 2. Promise me you’ll keep going until that at least man.

Sarconius, congrats on being the first one to master Burning Rangers! Hopefully my crappy code didn’t annoy you too much. I see you all the time on my Followed Users Ranking so clearly nothing’s stopping you man.

LadyNadia, I respect you highly as someone who mainly devs RPGs. Doing one was on my bucket list so maybe I should have asked to collab at one point. Again another what if.

VenHur, again, patience of a saint for my crappy code on Legend of Spyro. Keep on going, man.

Mendil, I remember reviewing your Dragon Ball: Origins set when you were a Jr. I’m glad to see you’re still a dev. Not sure what you’ve done lately but I hope you continue to hone your skills.

Wulden, I know you struggle sometimes but the fact you keep going inspires me. Keep polishing up your skills and don’t be afraid to ask for help. I was in the same place you were at one point. One day you might be able to learn pointer chains too!

Butternife, the second I saw your name I knew you were dev material. I still remember sheepishly telling you Ape Escape 2 was my rollout claim for PS2. I can definitely see the influence 2’s set design had on 3. If they ever announce a new Ape Escape game I’m gonna scream, and then I’ll think of you.

Zizom, you’re not a dev anymore, but wherever you are I hope you’re okay. Legend of Spyro wouldn’t have happened without you.

TheLooseGroose, every chat’s more fun with you in it. Even if you’re not a high ranking player I hope you’re having fun.

Clymax, don’t let the fact you got demoted to Jrs discourage you. You’re clearly passionate and just need to channel that a bit better. Also with a name like yours you should play Sexy Parodius if you haven’t yet. It’s a serious missed opportunity if you don’t.

Drisc, you’re a cool guy. Like I said above, thanks for hearing me out on the ticket icon. I think many people, myself included, have your thanks for putting that forward.

Suspect15, you graduated right after me so it’s kind of surreal how far you came compared to me. No hard feelings of course, maybe I should have been a bit more proactive.

Sutarion, while I don’t have any strong memories of you that doesn’t mean I didn’t notice you. You seem like a good guy. Keep it up.

Craze, congrats on finally getting that Sonic CD revision through! Man that think took forever didn’t it? But revisions to popular games aren’t easy, I know that feeling very well.

Sting, you can be a bit of a Karen sometimes so try to chill out every now and again. My literal first impression of you was finding out you got removed from staff for some comments you made? I don’t remember what. What I do remember is that in spite of that you still took the time to give me your thoughts on my set for Daytona. Thanks to you I found out the Jefry easter egg was in the Saturn version. You were also the one who brought up the idea of the Spyro trilogy being reauthored to me. I didn’t even think it’d happen but hopefully what I’ve done with the games have put them in a much stable place for years to come.

I think that’s it for now. Thanks for the memories guys. I don’t want to leave but I know I can’t stay. I’m a guy who likes solving problems, but when you’re the problem, sometimes the best solution is to leave. I don’t want any major drama to come out of this or for anyone to point fingers: this is not an issue with individuals but rather “the way things are done” as weird as that sounds. It’s a leadership issue, in short. When you take away the numbers and the stats, all that matters is people are having fun and having a good time. I hope we didn’t lose sight of that.

My final message: if there’s a dev you appreciate or enjoy seeing the work of, don’t hesitate to give them a compliment. It might be the only one they get that day. Even if it’s not me, a little appreciation for the little things people do around here can add up in a big way.

The slippery slope has begun. They will soon have troons pushing them to ban Harry Potter games, as well as any other game they can dream up outrage about.
Daaaamn. I called THE FUCK outta this. Unfortunately. It's always a uniquely shitty feeling to be right about horrible shit. The slippery is becoming a mudslide at this rate. It's a damn shame too, because those old HP games are comfy as fuck.

Absolutely hilarious considering how many of the supporters of this "new standard" called the idea that Harry Potter games might get banned "concern trolling".

I'm sure other users are aware of more RetroArch quirks, these should be compiled into a nice looking list and distributed to destabilize the hardcore points economy and force RetroArch to fix them or discontinue the support\tell hardcore points junkies to fuck off (which is more likely).
Good idea. My approach was to just modify the emulators themselves to remove hardcore restrictions, but that require recompilation (I've got retroarch, pcsx2, and dolphin all patched and working).

My other idea, assuming I'm not lazy, is just to make a custom client that can unlock whatever the hell you want. There's a client library that every emulator uses already to talk to the servers, but it's just a basic rest API that'd be trivial to knock out in python or go.
