Nato has been quietly slipping foreign troops without identification into the war for some time. Troops who when captured have no protection or value to the Russians so they are simply shot and thrown in a ditch (check the war threads, about 3/4 in).

Guarantee draft is to replenish those lost forces, especially since we have also seen foreign legions thrown in the ring as well. Aka conscripts that will be simply discarded during or once the war is over.

That's the thing, NATO is funnelling their soldiers and veterans to join the Ukrop army or otherwise act as mercenaries. There's tens of thousands of them present already, mostly from Poland/Butthurt Belt and the US/Canada. Nobody knows just how voluntary this process is.

They are American/British soldiers, who were poached from active units or had recently left. Technically mercenaries, but the kind of mercenary who was in the Marines two weeks prior and is on "leave"

They're probably more concerned about the CIA or whoever hired them. The Russians might kill them, but will not burn their house down and kill their family - the guys who sent them, probably would. You don't live in the "free society" that you think you do.

Back when the war started, some of my mates who aren't disabled were active UKSF. From what I could glean, they were getting offers of up to £10,000 pm to take some time off - like, a few months - to go to Ukraine. It was clearly accommodated somehow, and this immediately followed a "soft purge" for people who refused the vaccine, or who were somewhere "in the system" of joining the more famous regiments.

So, unfortunately, a fair few of these guys would be the unvaxxed guys, siphoned away from selection for SAS - the British ones, atleast. Those aren't "random guys" - they're some of the best guys in the Western hemisphere. People who weren't solidly in the groups, but were in the process of joining.

With natural "decay" - groups like the Navy Seals, SAS, the actual front line fighters have had a few years with practically no replacements. Rather than a steady stream of new blood, that new blood was diverted some some private enterprises.

In other news, you can do whatever the fuck you want - if you're tougher than the average cop, there's nobody "above that" coming. They're all dead, in Ukraine.

What's wild is the similarity between the progression of drone warfare - thinking mainly of Ukraine, here - and the development of aerial fighting in World War One. Balloons, and then planes, began as observation/reconnaissance platforms, initially unarmed, though they would attract fire from the ground. Then, pilots and crew began carrying weapons aloft in an improvised manner, and started taking potshots at each other, which led to specialised fighter planes, launched to attack the enemy spotter aircraft, which then tangled with the fighters deployed to protect those (and also shoot down the opposition's observers). And meanwhile, below, dedicated anti-aircraft guns started to appear. Shit, as they say, escalated quickly...

It will more likely be drawn into the mud. The mud consumes all. The drones become more sophisticated at fighting eachother, to the point that both sides can destroy them quicker than they can produce them.

I'm speculating a lot, but there's a type of technology which is likely "top secret" - but relatively easy to understand. There are radio telescopes used for deep-space, radio-guided missiles were invented over 80 years ago. They already can triangulate most drones, and mobile phones, via radar.

But it's much easier to just not carry a mobile phone than it is to build a triangulator.

Did any of you ever get those military recruiter faggots who liked to approach your lunch table and ask you to enlist back in high school? I remember the one at my high school would approach our table every week and we'd tell him to fuck off every time.

Yes. A lot of guys in my social circle ended up joining. I went to HS in a poor and dying old rustbelt mill town with not must else going on. I got as far as taking my asvab test but luckily a family member who was a 'nam vet who I respected alot set me strait. This was in the time after Desert Storm and right when the new adventures in the ME where getting ready to start. Everyone I knew who went came back completely fucked up mentally in one way or another. One commit suicide and the others are basically just existing in poverty in shit dead end jobs or on disability. I went on to live a very boring normal life and have a decent career.

There is nothing lower in our society then a military veteran. People pretend to care about you for 1 day a year then after that they go back to ignoring you and wishing you didn't exist.

You can just take off to another state. Head to some lawless shithole blue state and get a fake id. Unless you do something dumb and get arrested you'll be good.
I also think a forced draft will be the beginning of the end of the "United" part of the USA. There will be sanctuary states and the feds will be spread very thin trying to hold on to their collapsing power.

I think people are over estimating the power and reach of the US federal government. The USA is a very big place and the federal government is very dysfunctional. It not like the Ukraine where everyone is all bunched up in one area. Another big difference is here everyone has a gun. So press gangs will have to approach every "recruitment" as a full on swat operation.

The draft worked in the 1940s and 60s because the USA was still a cohesive society and a way of life worth fighting for. People still respected the government's authority. If Uncle Sam sent you a letter then you did what it said because that was the right thing to do. It was your responsibility as an American to defend it all. Most people just complied.

Today all that patriotism sense of civic duty is long fucking dead in millennials and it never even existed in zoomers. No one will comply.
