I'm allergic to nickel, and I almost lost an ear from wearing nickel earrings when I was ten. Probably my fault since I had picked at my ear lobes and I just couldn't get used to earrings, but apparently I literally was close to losing an ear. Never wore earrings again and have no desire to get my ears re-pierced.

Didn't have the heart to throw them out, though, since they're flower-themed and I like how they look.
