My prediction is that the show will have one or two more seasons trying to keep itself afloat and move on from Justin but it just wont be the same for the fans that somehow were able to stick around. It will be an overall feeling of "its just not the same anymore". Then maybe they will try to have a big marketing thing for a "final season" but maybe leave it open for more seasons or a reboot (which would justify changing everyone involved in this series, maybe right down to the designs)
The problem is that A.S really has no more major hit shows left to milk on so they are in a tough spot because keeping the show around will make it seem like they are "ignoring the controversy" and being one of the bad words leftists love throwing around. Thats what you get when you leave The Venture Brothers, Metalocalypse and Aqua Teen in the dust over a reddit fuel show.
They put their eggs in one basket and now they tripped, the eggs that didnt burst open are all cracked, they hastly put them back on and pretend nothing is going on.
According to the statement from AS, they're going to recast them.
And how can they do that when he voices most of the fucking cast? I get that they can find impersonators but feels like its just putting band-aid on a gunshot wound.
The fatal hit has been dealt already, now its about what A.S intends to do with whatever time they have left.
I'm calling it now that the next Rick and Morty episode will have the two do surgery on their vocal cords and there will be a dumb meta joke about it.
Feels like the "Rick and Morty" thing to do, which I guess I can applaud them for not ignoring it but I doubt people will attach themselves to the new voices, especially if they sound too different.
Just because you adknowledged it, doesnt mean that the problem isnt there.
