Rick and Morty

I liked the first episode but episode 2 seemed to be pretty poor in the modern Simpsons kind of way where they just lazily parody a movie or show and everyone seems like caricatures of themselves, Summer being an action hero seemed odd but I guess it goes along with the movie they were parodying.

Hearing they've added new writers made the sudden drop in quality make sense but hopefully future episodes are better since I think they did a good job with the first one.

I just have to say that I love how Morty and his freaky monster arm actually developed a sweet relationship. Like, Morty even named him ("Armethy" is genius, btw), and they had a touching farewell scene. I actually got the warm fuzzies when Armethy wiped away Morty's tears and then hugged him goodbye.

Rick and Morty is really good about adding some heart to situations you'd never expect to find heart in.

I agree that the last episode was not as great as the season opener, but frankly, I don't know if I would "blame" the new writers on that from the get go.
I mean, not every episode of season 2 was all that great either. At least Tiny Rick and Interdimensional TV 2 didn't as good in my opinion as other episodes of the show.

And hey, if last episode was the closest to a severe "dut" this show can get to, I take it.

Holy shit Morty's math teacher is a coprophage.

Pickle Rick was fucking awesome. I loved watching him slaughter all those rats.

Isn't weird that some adult cartoons does action scenes alot better than children action cartoons in general? Sure rick and morty isn't a action show by all means but the way they did the fight scenes is kinda fluid and badass on their own. Most cartoons when they do actions is usually laser coming out of their hands or magic because of the settings there in. (e.i urban fantasy).

Rick and Morty has always been good at improving on the idea of a film in some way(Inception, The Purge, etc).

I'm assuming Jaguar is going to only half be the new Bird Person.

Season 3 has been hit/miss so far, but

Episode 1 was on point, but episode 2 felt almost too much like the Micro-verse episode for some reason, there wasn't much going on.

Episode 3 last night was fantastic. It went by so quickly though, because of all the action and how engaging it was. My only complaint was that pickle rick was beaten into the ground as a meme before the episode even came out.
