Rick and Morty

Well, looks like one of the Alt Right's favorite fashwave artists made a tribute song for Evil Morty. It's actually pretty good.

Then I read the description. There might soon be some kind of Alt Right following for Evil Morty if this meme catches on.

I'll say this much to the fool who made that quote with the comparison about Rick & Evil Morty: It's just cartoons/anime, m8; calm the fuck down, please.

This was a great episode, and this season's been fantastic, but I'm honestly getting bothered by the constant cynicism and nihilism. Cynicism and nihilism have been present since episode 1, but there were still heartwarming moments mixed in. As much as a jackass as Rick is, in seasons 1 and 2, we still got the impression that he genuinely loves his family; he's just too broken and cynical to show it properly. Season 3 is going out of its way to make it seem like Rick just doesn't care about his family.

Idk, I'm just really not a fan of the "nothing matters, intelligence breeds misery, apathy is the best policy, pretend not to care about the people you care about" philosophy that the show is leaning on more and more heavily each episode.

Also, this review neatly summarizes how I feel about the recent episodes:

I recently finished marathoning BoJack Horseman and, to be honest, it makes Rick and Morty look like Friendship is Magic.

This is an unpopular opinion, I know, but I just can't really get into BoJack Horseman because of that relentless cynicism. I had to tap out after season 2. Maybe I'll give season 3 a try, but from what I've heard it's even darker so I'm not that interested.

I don't hate cynical things on principle, but like you said, BoJack Horseman is just relentlessly dark.

That's understandable. The latest season has more of an "upbeat" ending but it's still very bittersweet.

I enjoyed the episode. I can already tell people are gonna be mad that they didn't make fun of the right president, and even though it wasn't the end I was expecting, it was still a lot of fun and I'm glad we're not gonna be stuck on a massive cliffhanger for another few years.

President Trump or President Evil Morty?
Trump.
I'm pretty sure they already said that the second one wouldn't show up again until next season at the earliest. I was talking about the first one, but you raise a good point that people could get butthurt about both.

Based on what I saw in the live chat and on reddit a lot of people were expecting him to show up. A lot of fans are calling this the worst episode of the series. That's how butthurt they are.

Guess the creators thought they were getting a bit too cynical about things in the show too. I did love how Rick was just annoyed with how stupid everyone was being in this one.
