Surprised there isn‘t a thread on this yet.

Some time after September 10 2024 the infamous web 1.0 site, bodybuilding.com shut it doors. For those that don’t know bb.com birthed into this world Elliot Rodger, Zyzz, PUA, the “do you even lift” meme and was arguably even a good site for health and fitness. It really is a shame to lose another great website that was so pivotal to the original capital I Internet.

RIP king. F

There was actually some pretty good and informative discussions and information on there over the course of many years. Decades, even. Every now and then I'd find useful stuff there while doing web searches, as recently as a week or two ago. That's putting aside the Internet influence of the site in general, as you touched on.

Hate seeing this. The Internet should not be centralized and consolidated by big tech. Reddit is a lousy general replacement and the quality of discussion and information there is generally not up to par. Decades of quality discussions and information lost every time one of these forums goes down.

Nah, consolidation makes sure the internet is safe and has consistent standards of moderation. I've come to realize Reddit is one of the better sites online right now; it has the same trolling/raiding that 4cuck and the Sharty would call "gemmy" (fake AITA posts, etc), and it tries to keep subreddits on-topic and high-quality by clamping down on infighting and ensuring that all posts are informative and constructive.

Now we know why Elliot Rodger never got laid because he was only 5'9 and weighed 135 lbs :story:
Not really. He never once even approached a woman. The closest he got to making a pass at one was throwing a drink in her face because he saw a couple in public and tard raged. That's usually not a very effective pickup strategy.

Same with imdb forums. It was the best place to talk about movies, with discussions & threads that lasted years & then gone.

This is either politician-level retardation, or politician-level lying. In any case, please don't get anywhere near to public office
