The dude really should have gone into radio or books on tape. Take advantage of the natural gift of having that kind of voice.

I love how they called him, at the time of his arrest, "an international criminal" when it was literally just a punch of petty crimes. I find it amazing that he escaped prison, or bothered trying since he was in there for such petty crimes. Truly a bizarre story.

Addressing a crowd by saying "Gentlemen" these days would get you branded a bigot and a transphobe.

Not many people can look based while getting arrested. I love how he wasn't even doing anything to attack them, just passively resisting, while delivering eloquent rhetoric, and mocking their inability to restrain him when they had him so vastly outnumbered.

What an utterly embarrassing moment for Australian cops.

There was an interview of him apparently by one of the very people who had originally filmed his arrest:
The hilarious thing you will note is that behind him are numerous paintings he himself painted about his own arrest.

We should all have a succulent Chinese meal in memoriam tonight.

The timing of his death feels symbolic if not outright suspicious.

The fact that he was able to sell paintings of the act just makes it funnier. He's the kinda criminal many lolcows think they are when they're just retarded degenerates.

Kinda sucks Mr. Democracy Manifest died. He has a documentary in the works which will cover his life of petty crimes and fraud, and his few jail escapes.

Australians really do have a legitimate soft spot for these kinds of criminals / petty “victimless” crimes. Nearly every Aussie out there will applaud and respect these people who do these petty things with any kind of flair or charisma. Defrauded a business? Escaped Jail? Got one up on the cops? What a fuckin’ legend.

Just look at chopper read - A liar, murderer, drug taking, violent and unhinged sack of shit, yet everyone loved him because he never went after the common man, always other criminals, and had the charisma to back it all up even if most of his stories were embellishments at best, utter lies at worst.

Not saying Mr. Democracy is in any way on the same level of uncle chop-chop, but there will always be a soft spot in this country for these caliber of criminals, and a lot of people loved the old geezer. RIP indeed.
