You can sustain a severe amount of brain damage but stay "alive" if your brain stem is relatively unharmed. It's the most basal part of your brain, and runs your heart and lungs and circulation. That's where the term "brain dead" comes from. The grey, wet gooey stuff up top is gone, and with it your life and soul... but the tough bundle of nerves in base of what's left of your skull keeps your empty corpse breathing because it didn't get the memo. How?
In a way, it prolonged the suffering just a bit.He was wearing a bike helmet.
I know a girl who wears a rubber band on her wrist which is a sign that he organs are up for grabs if she dies. It's a bit odd.You can sustain a severe amount of brain damage but stay "alive" if your brain stem is relatively unharmed. This is the point where the ghouls start asking your spouse or parents if they can butcher you alive for spare parts.
That seems a bit more legally vague than just getting "Organ Donor" on your driver's license.I know a girl who wears a rubber band on her wrist which is a sign that he organs are up for grabs if she dies. It's a bit odd.
Not in the US. I think she may have signed some papers to make it legal. She has a law degree so I'd imagine she wouldn't settle on just a rubber band. That seems a bit more legally vague than just getting "Organ Donor" on your driver's license.
Edit: presuming we're talking USA here of course.
Something similar happened to one of my cats over a decade ago, his skull was run over but he didn’t die on the spot. Eventually though he just couldn’t recover and had to be put down. It must be a terrible way to die. I feel sad even talking about it, miss you little buddy. How?
That sucks. Condolences to his family and friends. I wonder if he was interviewed for the upcoming Dark Side Of The Ring episode
All the article said was he was crushed by the truck but not where. It most likely ran over his torso and the resulting crush injuries took a bit to end him. How?
Bikes: not even once.Georgios Smaragdis, aka synthwave musician Starcadian, was killed on May 1st while riding his E-bike to the recording studio in New York. He was doored by a parked van then the rear wheel of a box truck ran over his head after he was flung into traffic. Despite all that, he managed to live for about 30 minutes until pronounced dead at the hospital. 44 years old.
First sentence of the third paragraph from said article:All the article said was he was crushed by the truck but not where. It most likely ran over his torso and the resulting crush injuries took a bit to end him.
But here's another legitimate source to confirm the head injuries:The artist sustained severe head trauma and was ultimately pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
Dang, "Kramer vs Kramer" producer Jaffe died about two months ago, too.
Robert Benton, director of the movie Kramer Vs Kramer died at the age of 92.
