Dwamena was diagnosed with a ventricular arrhythmia in 2017. In January 2020, while at Levante UD he had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implanted through surgery, which enabled his club to monitor his heart during matches. In October 2020, the ICD showed values which were considered too high, and his club at the time, Vejle Boldklub, withdrew him from team activities as a result.
In October 2021, in Austrian Cup match during the first half of Blau-Weiss Linz's game against Hartberg, Dwamena collapsed on pitch, was shocked by the ICD and stabilized quickly.
Death
On 11 November 2023, Dwamena collapsed into sudden cardiac arrest on the field in the 23rd minute of the first half of the round 13 match between Egnatia and Partizani in the Kategoria Superiore, and died on the way to Kavajë Hospital, aged 28. Afterward, all sports events in Albania were postponed or suspended. His cardiologist later disclosed that he had elected to remove his ICD a year prior.
So he had a heart condition, had to undergo serious surgery, was only saved by the ICD, and then decided to remove it and basically suicided. Dear lord. And he scored quite a bit and seems to have been a good player.
My Grandmother died due complications from cancer at 82. She was my best friend, whom I could depend on no matter what. We saw each other every day. She was there for me in birth as I was for her in death. I will never stop missing her, but will take solace in knowing she is no longer suffering.
I seriously dread the day my granny's going to buy the farm. I might be biased but she's as close to a living saint as i can imagine. My heart goes out to you.
I honestly expected him to go first, with his health issues and being in hospice care for months now. Politics aside (he was before my time, so that's irrelevant to me), they both seemed to be decent people who have done alot for charity after his time in office, and have been happy together for 70+ years. You can't ask for much more than that.

Mars Williams, saxophonist best known for his time with The Psychedelic Furs, has passed away at 68 following a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
Ah, we just lost a major name in Gen X Saturday morning entertainment, Montreal-born Marty Krofft has died at age 86. He and his older brother Sid were co-creators of many children's shows including H.R. PufnStuf. The Bugaloos, Land of the Lost, and The Krofft Supershow. They also did the costumes for the live-action segments of Hanna Barbera's The Banana Splits.
i was a few years too young to have caught the peak of their output in the 1970s but CBS re-run Land of the Lost at around noon on Saturdays for a while in the mid-1980s so I have seen that. I also remember watching their short-lived 1984 CBS Saturday morning series Pryor's Place with Richard Pryor.
They also had a failed indoor amusement park in Atlanta, The World of Sid and Marty Krofft, which was shut down after only 6 months due to poor attendance and the building was famously converted to CNN headquarters a few years later.
I don't think I've ever actually seen this show but I remember various grunge bands covering the theme song in the 1990s.
