RIP Thread

Lucille Horn, who started her life in an incubator sideshow at Coney Island, died two weeks ago at the age of 96.

Lucille Horn, who started her life in an incubator sideshow at Coney Island, died two weeks ago at the age of 96.
I just looked her up and its a pretty incredible story. I had no idea that hospitals rejected incubators at that time and the doctor who advocated for them had to resort to side show attractions. It's also pretty amazing that she was expected to die shortly after her birth yet almost lived to be 100. R.I.P

RIP John Surtees.

Probably not that well known outside the UK, but Surtees won 7 moto gp championships in the late 50's, then decided to drive in Formula 1 and won the F1 world championship in 1964. The only man ever to have won on both two and four wheels.

All this in an era where there was a roughly one in three chance of being killed during an f1 season.
