I didn't understand the true horror of life until I found out that "Disco-Tex & The Sex-O-Lettes" wasn't a joke band name Elvis Costello made up.

I did know their coolest song though:

RIP sex cowboy
Early Simpsons used them as cheesy joke band "Hooray for Everything" at least once:

I always thought that was just some goofy sound clip the show made up, but it was totally real:

Mikkey Dee is the last surviving member who is the longer tenured drummer besides Phil Taylor.
It was Phil Taylor who was "Philthy". My bad.

So that leaves us with Mikkey Dee, Wizzo, Zoom and...?

Brian Robertson, Mikkey Dee, Lucas Fox and Pete Gill are all who is left. Out of those 4, Mikkey Dee is the last of the longer-tenured members.

Wurzel died in 2011. Lemmy and 'Philthy' Phil Taylor both died in 2015. "Fast" Eddie Clarke died in 2018. Larry Wallis died in 2019. And now Phil Campbell in 2026.

the German philosopher and sociologist Jürgen Habermas died today, age 96
He was one of the most influential political philosophers of the last century, and his core idea was that legitimacy in society must ultimately come from open, rational discourse among equals (rather than tradition, coercion, or technocratic management). He shaped concepts like the public sphere and communicative rationality that still dominate political theory.

John Alford, actor known for staring in the British TV show London's Burning, died at the age of 54 in prison.

Billy Campbell and Billy McCullough, both Irish soccer players named Billy, died on the 13th of this month, at the ages of 81 and 90 respectively.

My dad died last night from stage four cancer after about half a month of hanging on and slowly getting worse.
He went from refusing to try weed for his pain, to asking for the strongest dose gummy the dispo could provide while curled up in the backseat.

The end could have been a lot worse and a lot more protracted than it was, but it still sucks we only had a couple of weeks after he woke up and was released from the icu.

-The last boomer in my life is gone and I'm sad about it, kiwifams.

My deepest condolences. I lost my dad four years ago and not a day doesn't go by...
