Singer Oliver Tree has reportedly died in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro. Two helicopters collided in mid-air before crashing into an electric vehicle yard, killing six people

he used to make videos with cherdleys

Just another example of why you should never ride in a helicopter, or go to south America.

Rest in peace Oliver Tree. Loved his music and whole persona, not taking the role so seriously and having fun with it. He directed his own music videos, and as far as I am aware most if not all of them. He obviously enjoyed the artistic process the most, he blew up huge in 2016 when he came back to making music as Oliver Tree and posting videos of him doing scooter tricks,
And even making the worlds largest scooter
I recommend to anyone to give his first album a listen under the name Tree, Splitting Branches
Rest in peace shitty fucking way to go, only 32 and in Brazil (:_(

Bummer, didn't think much of his music the first time I heard it, but kept showing his music vids to friends and it grew on me. He had a lot more going on than just his goofy characters for sure, sucks to see talent like that go so young.

Before he died, Oliver Tree revealed that all his money would be going to charity upon his death instead of his family. He established a charity foundation to support artists with his remaining fortune, wanting every cent to go toward helping people create new things.

His ex Melanie Martinez just posted this. People like Oliver rarely make it big. That's part of the reason it's been brutal on everyone

Also Melaine Martinez's fans are gloating that Oliver died because they dated at a point and broke up. I don't fucking understand fans of pop artists who have this autistic parasocial relationship where they expect everyone to adore their senpai as much as them.

Sadly that's how it can be with some of these artists. It's the Ariana Grande Mac Miller shit all over again

They have one point of failure.
More accurately, they have "several separate single points of failure," any one of which can bring them right out of the sky.

Another air accident, this time 12 skydivers and a pilot die in a plane crash.
JFC imagine dying in a plane crash and you're wearing a perfectly good fucking parachute.

Helicopters are already dangerous

No, they aren't. No more dange than driving your car. They're safer than airplanes, too.

but to get on one piloted by a South American in a country known for bad driving

No, it isn't. Out of all the countries in South America, Brazil is near the bottom of the "bad drivers" list. L

is another thing. If they can't manage to safely drive on the ground what makes you think they can attempt to fly a much more complicated machine and have a good outcome is beyond me.

You'd shit your pants if you found out how much manufacturing and tech work is offshored to Brazil.

How many celebrities have been lost to helicopters accidents now?

Not that many.

Colin Mcrae, Kobe, Stevie Ray and many more

Are you really lumping some d-list YouTube singer in with Kobe and Colin McRae? McRae, one of the best WRC pilots ever, and Kobe, a dude so famous that you only need to put down his first name? Come on.

Back on your initial statement, here's an article on McRae's accident that focuses on the impact to fellow race car driver Dario Franchitti saying that helicopters are a safe form of travel. That's in an article about his friend dying in one.

My friend, you have the worst takes and it's okay not to comment on something just bec you get an urge to troll. Don't ever feel bad for not putting your one cent in; we won't mind.

Sorry about the off topic rant everyone, but please stop blindly "liking" comments like this without being critical of the content.
