His old political cartoons aren't helping his optics though.
Even so, I have to question just how truly racist he was. His political cartoons are just a reflection of what the times were back then, and with the Japanese caricatures especially, it was no different from how folks at Warner Bros. portrayed them in their "buy war bonds" cartoons. It was just that common of a stereotypical caricature, but I don't believe the artists were actually that racist deep down just because that's how their bosses wanted them to look.

His "Adolf the Wolf" one is pretty based, though.

Ironically you can still buy original wartime copies of Mein Kampf on eBay, but apparently not certain Dr. Seuss titles.
You can still get copies of Mein Kampf in high schools.
My youngest cheeselet brought it home a few years back, I was surprised as hell that a California school would even have that book on the premises, but we do live in the saner part of the state. Kid said it was boring as hell and didn't finish it.

I will never use eBay again, they apparently are vastly supportive of the actual Nazi Party, and oppose someone who actually literally fought Nazis.

It's true. In general, books written in prison are absolute snores. Pilgrim's Progress is another. Less genocidal but terribly dull.

All the classic Seuss stuff got bought up within a day or so by collectors. You can still get the reprints on Amazon which all became #1 best sellers within 12 hours.

I'm hoping this will lead to more traveling Seuss art exhibits of his personal stuff.

The one thing I hope it leads to is an appreciation of politically incorrect depictions of people, because they've got more personality behind them than modern day bean mouth designs.
