No, you're not the only one. DE:MD is such a target for them for several reasons. First, it's a game tackling race and other sociopolitical issues through metaphor rather than shoving an explicit message down your throat, which cultural critics like Bob and McIntosh hate because it encourages introspection and allows the player to potentially come to a different conclusion than the game maker. Second, when they and the rest of games media threw a fit about it, instead of instantly backing down and kissing the ring, Eidos and Square Enix more or less told them to go jump in a lake. They are REALLY threatened by the fact that their power over developers is waning, and that games and other media that DO come out of their clique keep under-performing or outright failing.

It also tackles those issues in complicated ways where there isn't really right or wrong, and the last thing these SJWs want is a world of shades of gray. Just those ebil whiteys out to kill everyone.

The player always has a choice of turning off the game console and go outside, you diabetic fuck.

Bob is so full of shit. The term "RPG" was invented for games like Dungeons and Dragons, which are all about giving you as many choices as possible....including the choice to be really, really evil. You aren't "playing a role" unless you get to act according to what your character would do, so heavily scripted bioware games where you get to pick who to fuck and not much else really aren't RPGs in the classic sense.

Yes Bob, developers should listen to you, a person who thinks "having a big vocabulary" = "intelligence" and responds to any and all criticism with strawmanning and weak sarcasm a la Dobson. Tell these experts in their field how things should be done in 2016, you man whose tastes in games stopped somewhere around 1993.

Nope, still doesn't make sense.
Bob is a fine example of social media dynamics. If you have enough followers, you'll get validation for any random shit as long as it's trendy and controversial, so if you only care about said validation and don't try to maintain intellectual honesty, your feed quickly becomes a race to the bottom until you're just trading buzzwords for likes and retweets. He's not even attempting to really say anything, he's just a rat pushing a button to get some sugar water.

And now the guy gave Sausage Party a great review, stating it is an awesome take on religion within it.
... okay, if he thinks that the movie is having a "deep" anti religious stand (granted, jokes on religious aspects are there, deep ones) it is save to assume that he is what tvtropes would call a hollywood atheist.

He liked Sausage Party with it's blatant racist caricatures? I mean, when I read the leaked script I realized that animation as a media is dead and everyone praising it is just hastening us down this path to hell, but if the SJWs like this film, I don't know what to fucking say!

As for the message, I find it rather depressing and cynical. "The Universe is filled with hungry monsters, so fuck until you rot!"

According to several posters on /co/, the movie ends with them realizing they are in a cartoon, open a portal to the real world, and the final shot is them entering the portal.

I can't tell if that's a failed attempt at humor, of if he's being sincere.

Because either way, it's dumb.

SJWs can't make a joke because SJWism is antithetical to humor and fun.
Also, "words mean whatever I want them to mean" is a postmodern thing on which SJWism depends. Blob doesn't even know which side he is satirizing.

> calling a Seth Rogan stoner film deep
> expects to be taken seriously

Nice job Bob.

I get the feeling Bob doesn't know what anything actually means at this point.

It's an awful movie, the racism isn't some kind of "haha this is racist" or "haha racists believe this" it is just racism. White people are normal heroic types who solve everything and everyone else is an incompetent caricature.

There's only one joke in the entire film, the rest is just "they said fuck hahaha, mexicans are stupid!"

How it's possible for him to like this as a movie I can't understand.

How it's possible for him to like this with his crazy world view I really can't understand.

The only thing I can think is that he's trying to support Sony because of Ghostbusters... That's even a stretch.

With every movie Rogan is slowly turning into the new Sandler. I'm amazed Bob isn't taking the chance to relive his "this guy tore down pixels he's amazing!" days.

The fact that anyone was praising him for tearing down Pixels was kind of amazing in and of itself I mean, no one likes that movie. NO ONE. Nearly everyone ripped that movie a new one. So I still have no idea why Bob got so popular for it.

BEause he was lucky enough to shout it out the loudest earlier as many others.
Remember, that was the guy who wrote he was "almost" glad that Iwata died so he would not have to know this movie existed. "almost".
Personally, when he went on the Pixel tirade I knew for certain that Bob is just a cyst on the ass of this planet. Cause the level of vile he had for Adam Sandler in that, because of "ma videogames!" was so autistic, I am surprised he did not demand for Sandler to be shot in the streets

He got popular in the same way Star Wars Kid or that girl that sang "Friday" got popular. Only he thought he was popular for a good reason.
