A stroll over to Box Office Mojo shows that, during this weekend, A Quiet Place climbed back into first place while Rampage fell to second place. Not that Bob actually does any research.

Whenever Moviebob or anyone mentions "people of color" I imagine the identity-less red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and orange crowds from Tokyo Mirage. Is that how he sees them?

More like identity-less brown crowds. All "PoC" are the same and unified by their oppression by the white man. You're adding way to many colors beyond an ambiguous shade of brown.

Every time Bob says he doesn't support eugenics, I remember the two or three posts where he asked, dead seriously, if there was some way to tell if some humans were actually a "seperate species".

He didn't come out and say it, but it was obvious he was looking for a way to call republicans Not Human and not immediately get slapped for it.

I would like to inform everyone (not just the Moviebob crowd, just EVERYONE) that the POC are not getting along as well as you would think. Among black people specifically, there is a huge gender war that's been going on for decades and has now gained attention from outside African Americans due to the proliferation of social media. It revolves around marital problems- infidelity, broken families creating single-parented children, abnormally high rates of domestic abuse (even homicide), addictions, poor discipline/education, you name it. And seeing it, I would actually have to side with the black women here- they seem to want problems to get fixed and everyone to get along while black men will keep attacking and degrading their own women and idolize interracial marriages (which is HUGELY stigmatized among AA). They are certainly not "all united against white people".

Whenever they talk about it, they have their own slang terms. Interracial relationships are "Swirling". Race traitors (which Moviebob is, to the human race) are "coons". Someone who is flighty and has commitment problems is "fast", to name a few.

I would also love the Moviebob crowd to know that the reason women don't like "nice guys" is because they know they're the sleaziest, worst men behind the facade- no woman (who doesn't have a dire mental condition) wants to be around people who mistreat her and they can tell who's faking. Moviebob has held some very unfavorable beliefs about women, particularly those who politically disagree with him (I remember his "Playboy or Penthouse" joke about Sarah Palin in an early Overthinker episode, which now takes on a new "harsher in hindsight" meaning in the "Trump Derangement Syndrome" era).

Arcade games didn't cost $20 to play all at once, and didn't require a story. Also, yes, thats how advertising works, get people to want to play a game as quick as possible with as little advertisement as possible. Thanks bob, clearly the people paid to think about advertisements and movie premises this will be stunned by your insight.

Does whatever a sperger does.

Man, he is still triggered that Sam Raimi quit making Spider Man, it wouldn't be funny if it weren't so pathetic. I can't wait for a spiderman movie to be really good and he's the only one hating on it because it was made by the wrong people.

His pitch for how he would've put Spider-Man in the MCU makes it even dumber. What he wanted was Tobey Maguire Peter Parker to be in Civil War as a hardcore brownshirt, die as a villain, and then Miles Morales takes his place as Spider-Man alongside a (younger?) clone of Peter using the Ben Reilly name.

A combo of the worst parts of Civil War and the Clone Saga mixed with a new diversity successor and what I assume would've been a resentful white rival.

Since when was Ben Reilly the worst part of The Clone Saga? I could name worse things, dammit i just want to like him and not remember how they made him evil

I don't disagree with you but realize the "Ben Reilly" in that pitch would probably be nothing like Ben Reilly just like his idea of Miles Morales will probably be nothing like that character. Chances are if Bob expanded on that idea, he probably would go down that route where his "Ben" is some resentful stand-in for fans who's angry that he's not in the spotlight and to show how much better "Miles" is.

And Miles... wlel lets face it: In Bob's head he will probably be more of a street nigger than an actual character with personality.

There some irony in Blobbo, a fat diabetic basement dwelling white man, complaining about white people who complain about diversity washing characters.

So, Ben Reily as Superboy Prime?

So Bob idea is a mix Bendis and Slott? (I didn't know who to name for the non-Miles so i named the latest i know messed Ben Reilly up)

Leave it to Blob to come up with a portrayal worse than "Black Teenage Peter Parker" Bendis keeps Miles in

Since Infinity War premieres tonight and the reviews will be out shortly afterwards, I'd like to draw attention to a problem I've noticed in this thread. This might come across as backseat modding, but it's actually intended as constructive criticism so feel free to ignore if you so choose.

I've noticed there seems to be a game going on (and I'm not the only one to point this out) where if Bob says something, and I mean anything, he's automatically wrong just by virtue of the fact he's a lolcow. The way this manifests in the thread is that when he says he likes a film, people will find any excuse to hate it and when he doesn't like a film, people will find any excuse to like it just so they don't have to (shock! horror!) agree with Bob on something.

This has lead to some hilarious mental gymnastics and people making statements that are just out of line with reality. Is Black Panther another average MCU film that got massively overhyped because of its majority black cast? Sure, you can happily make that argument. But to imply it's some kind of failure or signalling the downturn of the MCU? No. A film featuring a C-List comics character that's critically acclaimed and grosses over a billion dollars isn't a failure by any stretch, yet I've seen people imply this multiple times. It's perfectly okay to laugh at Bob for masturbating over the film as he has. It's also okay to not like the film. But to try to find any reason to put it down just to disagree with Bob is kind of pathetic.

I'm just saying this because when I see people going on paragraphs-long, borderline deranged rants about how Infinity War will rape and murder your family and moreover how you want it to rape and murder your family just so you can stick it to a fat basement dweller makes me question whether we're not seeing horseshoe theory in action. I know a lot of this can be chalked up to personal opinion, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the only MCU film that gets consistent positive press around here is Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is the only MCU film Bob doesn't like.

All I'm trying to say is that when Infinity War comes out, if you're going to talk about how you felt about it, please be honest. Don't be afraid of saying you liked it just because Bob did. If it's utter shite, don't worry, but don't go through a load of mental gymnastics to hate it just so you can still laugh at Bob, because you don't need to. Bob's MCU fanaticism is just one of his many foibles and it's not even close to the funniest. We can easily laugh at him wanking off over a capeshit film without having to relentlessly a-log the film itself. And you know he'll be back to ranting about eugenics in a day, so what's even the point?

I say all this because the last five pages have basically been a-logging the MCU and it's getting kind of tedious. I'm here to laugh at an obese internet critic who thinks he's part of a new generation of ubermensch. Liking capeshit films a little too much isn't a crime and I wish people would stop treating it like it is. At best, it's funny but I get the feeling some are getting a little too worked up over it.

Anyway, this is just a suggestion. I don't really want to wade through endless unncecessary MCU a-logging when Infinity War hits.

There's things to like in Homecoming, but I will admit I think Peter Parker is made a bit too... millennial. If it was more true to the comics, it would have piled on.

I think I'm stealing this from someone but I can't remember who, but for example: Pete gets trapped and misses his high school event because he's being Spider-man. He should get in major trouble in school & with his peers but he doesn't because the Washington Monument thing happens - putting it all in perspective for everybody. If it was true to the comic, seems like it would be something where the monument breaks before his classmates go inside. Spidey rescues the random strangers inside but then the superhero is blamed by the kids for shutting down the monument before they could visit it while Peter is still in trouble for his missing the event.

Of course if Bob was writing the movie, I'm sure he'd have some segment where a bunch of rednecks yelled and threw beer cans at Peter, maybe have one of them call his outfit "the devil" because the guy can't think about anything outside stereotypes.
