Have you noticed he hasn't said anything about the teaching degree in a long time? I'm willing to bet he stopped looking into it around the time Russ Pitts floated the new Escapist offer to him. He really thinks this is his springboard to the big time. Just look at the teasing he did over having another YouTube spergfest: "big news for my career!" or whatever dumbshit thing he said. I don't know what would be funnier: The Escapist going tits up like so many people are predicting, or Bob just slowly realizing as he plods into his 40s that it's just never going to happen.

You're giving Bob too much credit. He likely gave up on his teaching degree pursuit because he realized it would be too much work. He would actually have to give up a decent chunk of the time he spends on Twitter and we know he can't do that.

To be hones Blobbo life could work as both the story of a horror film and backstory for a supervillain that would require a little artistic license (giving him feets, making him go outside without him being dragged by his brother or him going somewhere he's payed to go and him being not as addicted to Twitter)

Well, you might as well just write a completely different character at that point.

I've read enough of Tolkien's fiction, letters and academic work to know he didn't give that much of a shit about adaptations because he believed they'd be Disneyfied. He was like thanks for the money, do what you want.

I can also say Tolkien would have a dim view of a joyless technomaniac authoritarian like Bob.

"I see nothing wrong with this." - Russ Pitts, probably.

Tolkien's grandson wants Peter Jackson on a pike because of what he did in the film adaptation of The Hobbit.

If you have to state that you are superior to someone, then you probably aren't superior in the first place.

What did Peter Jacksonian do to earn that reaction? No i haven't seen them in long enough that i forgot anything bad besides the romantic triangle
I’ve seen literally no one, not to my surprise, saying the Kavanaugh circus cost democrats the senate. No one has the balls to come out and say it on the left.
that implies they have balls in the first place

Another reason why he's like this is because he doesn't actually do anything. He spends all day sitting on his ass while he does nothing productive. He has all the time in the world to think and get angry over everything that's happened to him in his life. He can never take his mind off being bullied as a kid because he doesn't have anything else to focus his thoughts on.

And yet he hates Jordan Peterson, who's message is about getting out of that rut and making your life better as a result.

Is there some context I'm missing with the Doom Imp and 8-bit Peach? Y'know, apart from Moviebob's arrested development.

I was going to ask that myself. Is Bob getting less and less coherent or am I missing something?

I think the Doom Imp is supposed to symbolize Trump and Peach is supposed to be Hillary, but your guess is as good as mine.

Trying to unravel Moviebob's political metaphores is like trying to make sense of the Voynich Manuscript with a 40 degree fever.

As Jonah Goldberg likes to say: "liberals go where the power is" and moviebob calls himself a pragmatist (which is stupid as it's impossible to tell "what works" without establishing what goal you're going for). With dems in control of the house, watch moviebob and fans discover that it exists and start praising how awesome the House of Reps is.

Oh right! I'm supposed to be checking his blogs....

Here I'll save you time.
  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
  • The Haunting (1963)
  • The Changeling
  • Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages
  • Night of the Living Dead
  • Suspiria
  • The Devil’s Backbone
  • Halloween (1978 )
  • The Uninvited
His thoughts on each one are about as deep as you'd expect. For example, this is the ENTIRE last entry:

Historically noteworthy as the first Hollywood feature of the sound era (and the prior history is somewhat debateable) to depict a ghost onscreen as a “real” phenomenon (as opposed to a hoax or hallucination), this 1940s paranormal chiller retains a surprisingly effective atmosphere despite being obviously dated and devoid of gore of extreme jumps.

That could have been copy-pasted from an Entertainment Weekly article. Quality journalism, there.

:late:, but being from Massachusetts, Bob should really understand that this isn't universally true. The Governor of Massachusetts has slightly more power than the parking guy at the State House. No serious politician wants the job, and one look at the former governors should make it fairly clear it is usually the last political office you will hold.

Bob would know all this if he remembered reading about Tom Finneran, gerrymandering his enemies out of jobs and facing the perp walk for his misdeeds. But then, Bob would have had to have paid attention to politics prior to 2016, so..

I’ve seen literally no one, not to my surprise, saying the Kavanaugh circus cost democrats the senate. No one has the balls to come out and say it on the left.

If they did that, they would first have to accept on personal level that their behavior might not be in the right and might have consequences to it. Which of course is both physically and mentally impossible for them.

By then admitting to it on a public forum, they are essentially showing the entire world that they aren't the best and brightest individuals around. Which is another physically impossible task for them to complete.
I was going to ask that myself. Is Bob getting less and less coherent or am I missing something?

Has he ever been coherent in the first place?

onus points: Haxan is a documentary, unless I'm misremembering.

Yeah, technically, but it's a documentary the way Reefer Madness was a documentary -- a scholarly excuse to show tits and the Devil (the difference being Haxan is something of a masterpiece while Reefer Madness is Reefer Madness). I don't really object to seeing it on this list; it's the sort of movie that frequently gets mentioned around Halloween and yeah, it's pretty creepy. I also sincerely doubt it's something Bob has ever watched more than once and was no doubt mentioned to give him some classic film credential.

But if he'd wanted to seriously impress people he'd have mentioned The Golem. Also, where's The Exorcist?
