I've seen neo-nazi's, creationists and Tankies come out on top in debate, it is correct debate 'proves' nothing. What it does do is sway the masses and sharpen your own perspectives, the moment you disengage you lose and become dumber for it. Their's a reason why the movers and shakers in history tend to have good banter.
I had a bit of scan of the site and I can see why they consider their wisdom 'uncoventional' in the same sense that vaccines remain 'controversial'.
I do find it cute how all those people keep going on about getting informed when they havnt read a book since high school and rely on clickbait piece articles for info.

This so much. It seems in this day of internet culture that the goal of a debate is to win it as if it were some game of football when your idea is to get your ideas out in a way they people will be swayed by them and get tested against other schools of thought. Though it is saddening that you have folks like the ilk Bob follows that no platform as a way to declare victory while their ideas go unchallenged unless you agree to their bullshit rules.

B-but, they're right? Why should they have to debate about anything when their side is always right? This is definitely cultist thinking, where an attempt at honest debate is decried as either heresy or a lack of faith in the movement. To people like Bob, their truth is self-evident. As self-evident as "the sky is blue" and "things fall down." Anyone who questions it is either crazy or an enemy/saboteur.

The Virtual Console was a failure? I'd like to see some proof of that because Nintendo over charging for ROMs with no extra features that are tied to hardware so they can milk more money for nostalgic 30 somethings like Bob. Then there's the NES and SNES minis which sold out in seconds and were only available via scalpers (I don't know if that's still the case). SNK anniversary is 14 games for £35 with lots of extra features. That's about £2.50 per game. The Megadrive collection is 50 games for £30, that's less than £1 a game. If Nintendo is failing to turn a profit then they suck at business. Companies keep putting these out implying that either they are profitable, or that the companies care enough about these collections to do it right even if it's at a loss.
Again, I'd like to see the numbers, because Bob is the man who thought the best selling PC game of all time was a niche game nobody played. I wouldn't be surprised if he considered SNK 40th Anniversary a failure because it isn't outselling the latest Assassins Creed.
And again, still no mention of Nintendo trying to shut down every ROM site and archive that exists, and no mention of Nintendo shutting down the Wii e-shop despite all the games on that.
To me, this seems like Bob is stomping his non-existent feet because people are enjoying games that aren't the Nintendo games he grew up with. That to him, games being lost to history due to the lack of preservation is the same as kids today not knowing who Aero the AcroBat is, or thinking Rygar was an obscure PS2 game.
There are times where no platforming has a place. When you have people like flat earthers or creationists demanding debate after debate after debate, and parading around the debates they do have as a sign of legitimacy even if they lose, then telling those people "no" makes perfect sense. That's not what Bob and co. are doing though. Hell, it doesn't have to be a debate for them to no platform someone.

As someone who contributed to the RWhiteGoose thread, I'll fill you guys in on what Bob's talking about.
Ryan White is a Goldeneye speedrunner with a youtube channel. He tried to get some pedo kicked out of the rankings, so in turn that pedo shared screens of him going on autistic "the Jews run the porn industry" rants and that got him booted off GDQ. His very existence is to be pitied, but he's way more accomplished than Bob.

Well I'd like to say I'm glad I can definitively say Moviebob is a fucking idiot. I'm part of that autism that keeps these things archived. I just finally helped get a copy of a PC game that was completely lost. We just don't have big sites anymore because of lawsuits. If you're a friendly guy these things are easy to get a hold of still.

The Overthinker is back. Boy, does this take me back.
The Overthinker, the reason I've heard of Bob in the first place. Without the Overthinker, I can think of a whole blog/vlogosphere of people I would have never heard of, cared a lot less about, or perceived much differently. Without the Overthinker, I would have not gotten a front row seat to game journalists and later, vocal leftists spectacularly doing themselves in with Bob as the trobadour of their sentiments.
Without the Overthinker, I don't think I'd be here. I might not even be on Kiwi Farms in general.
So let's assess the return. It's pretty weak and inoffensive. Not alarmingly bad, like some of his final episodes in the original run, but not something I'm the least bit interested in seeing more of. The main focus of the video is the most agreeable, palatable "defiance" I've seen in a while. And of course he makes comparisons to real-world events exclusively by referring to groups of his personal political bogeymen. Whenever he mentions groups he likes, he gets even lazier and more intellectually cowardly- he just calls them "well meaning groups" without mentioning who they are or what they do, like he's hoping everyone in the audience will just project their favorite groups onto what he's talking about. Overall very insubstantial and lacking punch compared to some of his earlier episodes where he would make interesting, funny, non-political jokes and even say some very provocative (in a good way) things like "if you think you're awesome for being good at an FPS, go join a real army!" as well as teach younger audiences new things that would at the very least get them the leg up in school.
Welp, that's the movie reviews and the shows destroyed. Only going to be so long before I lose interest in his fascist Twitter rants.

Bob has become the person he described in Game Overthinker 33 (the first Moviebob video I ever watched back when it was the newest episode and the video that made me interested in him)- a boring person who knows one subject to the detriment of all others and little else. He is becoming straight up boring to talk about. His 15 minutes (or decade rather) are just about up. That Rehire James Gunn saga (which he still hasn't changed his twitter name from despite James being rehired months ago) was, for most people, the hill he died on. Perceptions about him haven't changed in hundreds of pages. He won't be getting nearly as much attention from now on as Yandere Dev, Brianna Wu, or even DSP. I might just return after Donald Trump inevitably wins the 2020 election to say something like "Moviebob... I pity you" but that's about it. He can rot with Spoony and the Irate Gamer in the depths of Internet Reviewer Has-Been-dom.

It's the "Building a Better Gamer" one. Some reference it as the one where Bob talks about how you should exercise while pointing a camera at himself and injecting irony by being fat. Otherwise, good video and leagues better than the content he makes today.
