I'm pretty sure he doesn't consume media like you or I do but instead has this filter in his head that warps everything he sees into something that'll please his ego. I don't even think its a conscious act on his part. Its just how he perceives things.
Reflexive olympic tier mental gymnastics if you will. Or he could just be a exceptional sperg who inserts his equally exceptional politics into everything. Take your pick.
TLDR Bob has :autism:.
I watch a lot of movies and tend to pay attention to the themes and message of the story the films display through the plot and characters.

Bob watches them to wrap around some ideological theory around his head and uses them to point out said ideology. Example: The Last Jedi.

EDIT: Another thing that Bob never notices about his beloved MCU is that they have a lot of conservative themes in it. Winter Soldier took pop shots at government spying and painted its Gillian as someone from the Obama regime. Hell, Captain America in the MCU is like a conservative.

:offtopic:I've heard MCU Captain America described as more Libertarian than anything else but I digress.
But I agree that Winter Soldier's criticisms of a vast and detached government bureaucracy doing whatever the hell it wants with the only justification being vague and nebulous appeals to freedom and democracy could be read as very Conservative.
But enough sperging.
TLDR Bob is an idiot and doesn't understand even the things he claims to love.

What the ever loving ACTUAL FUCK, Bob? Xmen has been a metaphor for oppressed minorities since its inception.

The mention of the Morlocks reminds me of their namesakes and their relation to the Eloi from the H.G. Wells novel. In the book, the Eloi are a childlike race who live a carefree and ignorant lifestyle that the Morlocks maintain with their machinery. It serves as an apt metaphor for Bob and his relation to those he disdains in flyover country. Whether he cares to admit it or not, the working class support his lifestyle whether it be growing the food he eats or build the technology he uses to play his games/watch movies/sperg out on Twitter. It is through the fruits of other people's labor that he can review movies and create content critiquing popular culture while maintaining a childlike and ignorant worldview.

Bob actually thinks that a superhero group that’s mostly white is a metaphor for oppressing minorities. Does he know that Jack Kirby actively spoke out against racism countless times? Like the films he reviews, he barley knows shit about the source material.

It would be easier to post what he does know, and a blank post sums it up nicely. Truly a backwards obsolete person.

They are hated because they're different, and some of them do bad things. It is an oppression metaphor meant to be understandable even by children. I guess it's still too subtle for the superior future ubermench though.

I sometimes wonder if he is just incapable of actually focusing on a movie, given how frequently he must look away from the screen to share what passes for his thoughts on the Twatter.

Now I'm imagining Bob as "that guy". The one that spends the first half of the movie on his phone, then the second half complaining that he doesn't know who the characters are, what the plot is, and that the film is stupid because it.

I sometimes wonder if he blames rural america for giving him the beetus.

"we can't win seats!"
"well how can we win seats"
"we could try to gain support with rural Americans"
"NO, those are obsolete, they should want to join us! Tell them to fuck off, we don't want them, call them racists and sexists if they don't agree with us already! Tell them that if they don't uproot their lives and live in our crime ridden, low educated, cities, we will punish them"
Election happens
"Why did we lose"
"We couldn't secure positions with rural voters"
"How dare they not vote for us, all we did was promise to end their livelyhoods! They must be EVIL!"

The US produces the second highest amount of food, with most of production in the Midwest. Needless to say, there are a lot of people in the world who would be totally fucked if America couldn't grow food anymore. (Especially that big gray blob in the middle of the screen which receives 12 billion in food aid from the US alone every year.) There's also the fact that we really wouldn't want to outsource our foodgrowing to states like China, who could pretty much hold us hostage if we ever did anything to piss them off politically. And if Bob thinks cities could grow as much as they needed hydroponically, then he has another think coming since the technology to do that is probably decades off. Like it or not, the Mayonnaise Ghouls are here to stay and they could make life very unpleasant for people in the cities if they ever felt the need to.

Rural people also vote in big numbers once they're motivated enough to do so. If Democrats want to win national elections, they must get rural people on board, since so many of them skew Republican - enough to make a big difference:

No matter what Bob thinks, getting rural people on board is crucial to winning elections. But he can't stand the thought of them even being alive. Bob is like those corporations/ movie franchises that have a large white/ male/ Conservative base deliberately choosing to shit on such and pander to SJWs just because they really really want a patron/fan base that shares their politics.

The fact that a man who refuses to get better at what he does is telling people who are successful in their lives to evolve is the pinnacle of comedy. Might want to look in the mirror first to see who needs to evolve.

If bob does actually evolve, it's going to be from a human being to a blob of sugar, diabeetus and half melted flesh. He will truely be movieblob chipman
