It bears repeating what
@Mola Ram said about Bob's ethos a couple pages back.
Bob's political "philosophy" is not so much a philosophy as it is a completely selfish desire for a post-scarcity society where his own wants are satisfied without actually having to work for it. He has completely deluded himself into thinking the neocons like Hilary and corporatists will create that society for him and the white working class is actively working to undermine those efforts. In the end, Bob is firmly in the "stupid" camp because he believes that scientists are going to invent faster-than-light travel and digitize human consciousness over a single presidential election.
BTW, Bob. FTL propulsion is only theoretical, at best, and if man is going to the stars it will likely on generation ships that will take years or decades to reach their destination because if said ships travelled at light speed, it would still take over four years to reach the closest star system (Proxima Centauri.) Similarly, we humans do not possess a complete understanding of how our brains work much less know how to download it onto a computer. Electing a Democrat into the White House and winning both houses of Congress in 2020 will not create the United Federation of Planets by 2050.
As much as Bob fancies himself a progressive, he is really a dimwitted man-child who fails to grasp politics, economics, and science. Progress isn't so much of a linear path as it is a branching river of possibility. He believes that he worked hard to earn his post-scarcity future. Fuck that. He is just an entitled crybaby who reviews films and provides commentary on pop culture ephemera, which I would hardly call an indispensable vocation. He is truly getting what he deserves with a Trump presidency. I hope he enjoys his growing irrelevance.
