I honestly don't think the starships he mentions are even very important to him, at least not as such. I mean, he doesn't go anywhere even now, and when he does he spends the whole time on Twitter. To (mis-)quote Kirk from Star Trek V, "What does Bob need with a starship?" They're just symbols of Bob's false god, Science, which he believes will deliver him from scarcity and work into a glorious future where all of his dreams will come true, and thus they are also symbols of a post-scarcity Singularity future. If you gave Bob a starship right now, but without any of the rest of the deal (unlimited idle luxury, VR Mario, sexbots, immortal godlike body, the suffering of those damn Obsolete Mayonnaise Ghouls, etc.) he'd probably have a meltdown. I mean, all those other planets out there are just barren wastelands, without a single city on any of them. And we know what Bob thinks of wastelands.

Now the robots, though, I think that the significance of those to Bob is much more varied. They're slaves so that Bob won't have to work. They're sexbots for Bob to fuck. They steal the Jerbs from the hated Obsolete Mayonnaise Ghouls, bringing a spark of cruel joy to Bob's black and withered atherosclerotic heart. Bob probably even is in love with the authoritarian wet dream of being able to literally just manufacture more people who agree with him--no need for indoctrination, they're just built automatically thinking the right things. Absolute, total, and unlimited slavery of the mind, even if no one calls it that.

it’s simple. Bob is one of those people with plans to actually start living their life after retirement/graduation/moving out of their parents house etc. the only difference is while rational people pick a realistic milestone, he wants a sci-fi future that definitely won’t happen in his diabetic lifetime

That’s the most delusional part of Bob’s beliefs. Even if society abolishes democracy, throws Republicans into camps, and makes Star Trek real, he’ll be in for a rude awakening if he thinks they’ll want his input on how things are run.

"If I call black people niggers and I'm WRONG... exactly what's the harm?"

See how that sounds, Bob? Do you get why calling people names is wrong, Tubbo?

Suddenly I feel like I'll never be clean...

But yes... do encourage more robots. We are your friends after all... kill all humans

Also the typo "eat the reach" is hilarious to me and I didn't even play that much halo.

The funnier part is that all those mayonnaise ghouls would probably actually be needed for the barren planets. We robots need an infrastructure to function (electricity, processed parts, repair stations, etc) where as humans are resilient and adaptable to settling wild lands. (It's probably part of the divide between the USA and Europe. Since it's still pretty fresh in America's history that they had to go out and tame a wild land which doesn't permit many liberal delusions - while Europe has been safe and tamed for many centuries now.) Can you just imagine Bob's face when starships get built, and it's all the red-states that get to board and go off to colonize a new world?

Actually.... Maybe that's Bob's aim. He wants space ships so all Republicans can be shipped off-world without him being called an asshole.

I think it’s appalling that some people don’t exactly know how racist Bob actually is. I mean, SJWs are always low key racist, but not Bob. Look at the way he praises black films. He wants more black women in film just to see their skin color more and have them entertain him off of it. That just shows what a racist he is.

It's the 21st century version of puritanism - everything must be done to their morals, coupled with a healthy dose of self-loathing for their original sin of having being born into the wrong gender and skin colour.

Most people who want space ships want them for 2 reasons.
  1. To explore and find new lands, something that's impossible in the age of satellites where the entire planet is mapped.
  2. To visit another planet and set up a colony far away from shitty people who don't like them. Kind of like what happened to America.
Bob wanted to buy a house boat and live in international waters.

But Bob runs into the Galt's Gulch problem where you have a land of entrepreneurs and no one to actually do the work. At least Galt took people of all levels of society and it's not unreasonable that an industrialist won't be afraid to do manual labour if he could profit from it. Bob would only take himself and the "elites", ie. it would be a planet of film reviewers with no films to review.

"I'm not a fascist who believes in eugenics, I just think the working class is revolting and want to replace them with robots that don't talk back"

he has to know what he's doing right?
He's some kind of bizarro anti Marxist that wants the elites and corrupt government officials to overthrow the working class, while still praising typical Marxist ideals.

Bob's entire political philosophy boils down to punishing the Chads who used to make fun of him in high school. The jerks who used to get all of the pretty girls. Bob wants to see them suffer and writhe under the twisting boot of a totalitarian machine. Whether that same machine delivers McNuggets and free Moon tours to him on a silver platter is not nearly as important to Bob as the punishment it dishes out to the subhuman scum who are the architects of his life's miseries.

I'm not really sure why Bobs things the total automisation of labour would eliminate the underclass when it would it would create a massive surge in its numbers.
We don't have the numbers of office jobs for eveyone to work and frankly I'm worried about those jobs are going to get whittled as we get better and better at automated systems.
Bobs superior future is stillborn since his methods will produce the problems he wishes to get rid off.

Well, the unspoken second half of Bob's dream of robotic labor would be the part where the replaced unemployed underclass is put in camps and killed. At least the white ones.

OT, but at some point soon I'm going to write a very long effortpost about just how stupid Bob is about farming and just how hard it is to do as a living, especially if you're a small farmer. It's a hard, hard job not only physically but mentally as well. Bob thinks he can replace farmers with robots but I can tell you that in 100 years farming will still be done by humans.

Bob thinks you could replace tracts of farmland with hydroponics gardens, too.

Bob’s entire ideology is heap of everything that he’s ever heard of, liked, and curried him some social capital online. It’s a buffet (fittingly) style pick and mix. The plate underneath it though is even more pathetic than that. Bob wasted his entire life on pitying himself. The vengefulness towards any dissent or differences in personal taste is all about justifying casting the blame for his own choices onto everyone he hated anyway for pettier reasons in his own fat skull. That’s the only way I see something so utterly incoherent could occupy one head.

I can't tell if Bob is too dumb to realize the massive social and economic ramifications of automating the service industry, which employs the majority of the American people, would have, or if he knows and just wants those people to wallow in poverty because they got Drumpf elected.

Maybe both.
