It's worse than that. Bob, who thinks that all actual production and transportation of goods is automated or about to be, never even realized that with people no longer producing goods and services, there will be shortages of goods and services. You can't just import everything indefinitely either, because 1. that costs money that we are rapidly running out of, 2. other countries also aren't producing as much because of their own quarantine measures, and 3. many services and some goods can't be imported. Due to the shutdown, we're having predicted shortages of meat even with Trump exercising emergency powers to keep the meat industry running. When Bob can't get his tendies, it will be his own stupid fault and those of millions of people who believe the same things he does. But he's so blind and stupid, he'll never even realize and blame it on Trump.
I never really thought about that due to lumping it in with being laid off in general. Just one more reason to open up I guess.

Costco has stopped selling it's 5 dollar chickens because of the meat shortages.

Wendy's. Mcdonalds, and Burger king are considering a one patty per customer rule(no Dave's Triple, no Double Quarter Pounder)

Wafflehouse is considering an extended length limited menu for all locations until further notice

He also helped with the project that created the computer program to predict the numbers. To make the long story short, the program is spaghetti code that isn't consistent. You can put the same numbers on two different computers and get two different results.
In case you needed any reminder of how dangerous Bob's "blindly obey academics and scientists"* ideal is.
Based on how much our "experts" have fucked up expect public skepticism to reach an all-time high after all this is over and done.
*This being the creed of a Believer and not a Thinker ironically enough.

This isn't all bad. "Experts" are an obvious weak point for the corrupt to subvert for their own purposes. Look at the way Big Pharma has subverted doctors into a drug-centric paradigm, for example, or the way that the troon advocate industry has subverted psychiatry. We should exercise reasonable skepticism over their pronouncements. Technocracy without integrity brings catastrophe.

Not to mention that enthusiastic, intelligent amateurs have contributed and continue to contribute to science and often see things that people who have been thoroughly enculturated into the dominant practices in their field may miss. Also, overspecialization brings on tunnel vision, like the way that epidemiologists autistic focus on reducing direct deaths from COVID-19 has missed the thousands of indirect deaths from the effects of the quarantine. To bring this back to Bob, Bob has lamented that we don't have a technocracy, with "experts" making all decisions. But this pandemic has shown wonderfully how specialized experts have completely missed the big picture. Bob is wrong once again.

This pandemic should be a lesson for politicians to not alone experts run the show because they don't know basic economics.

For example, my state's governor, Steve Sisolak (Nevada), have relied on the lockdown based solely on the experts and during late last month would only start the phases on the basis of certain vague criteria the "experts" predicted. Now, Sisolak announced on Thursday is allowing restaurants, salons, and retails reopen with 50% capacity today, giving everyone a two day notice to get ready.

So yeah, Bob's "blindly obey academics and scientists" ideology has proven to be a devastating blow to not just the economy, but to science as well. And I agree with @BR55 one hundred percent that public skepticism and resentment towards scientific data will reach new highs after this is all over.

Again, Victor David Hanson making the exact same point. (like I said, I sometimes wonder if he reads Bob or this board)
VDH said:
Throughout this crisis, there has been a litany of arrogance and ignorance. The FDA early on made a hubristic and disastrous decision to monopolize testing. Neither the WHO nor the CDC could get their stories straight on the wisdom or folly of wearing masks.

There were so many expert lectures on how the virus was transmitted that many listeners shrugged and decided that researchers knew far less than those who cleaned and scrubbed for a living. It required neither a CIA analyst nor geneticist to conclude that China lied about the virus and kept lying about its lying.

So the public found little initial expertise from experts.
. . .
Science without humility and without the constant audit of experience, pragmatism, and common sense remains a parlor game. We should have known that from experience. We should have had experts who expressed modesty about what they did not know, while leaving the snark, the sneering, and the haughtiness to those who might have had some reason to express it. Competence can sometimes excuse the egotism of experts. But the combination of arrogance and ignorance is fatal to them.

See article above - no really, he brings in so many examples to prove your point.

I don’t want to beat this dead horse on how experts shouldn’t run politics, but I‘m sure Robert is realizes that going to a fast food joint will be different than it was a few months ago with the phased-reopening of the economy.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Bob will be fine regardless. The dipshit still makes 3k a month in neetbucks and rents from his family. He always throws out this "ermahgerd I'm so poor I gotta clip coupons just like you, fellow working man, so stop saying I'm not working class or I'm rolling in the dough" whenever anyone calls him out on it and if Bob is anything, he's a liar. He'll have money, that is if he's not giving it all out to other people in the weird Ponzi type scheme someone suggested a few weeks ago, and he'll continue to bitch about people demanding to get their income back because the faggot has never had to want on his life.

He does the same thing that boogie does where he goes from rich to poor and back, faster than his diabetic blood sugar spikes.

Bob has arrived at his own version of 9/11 truth and is very impressed with himself.

Oh, delve more into Al-Qaeda's convictions, and motivations Blobbo. Please, I need the entertainment.
Smug, stupid atheists are completely incapable of even conceiving that sincere religious conviction is a driving force of human behavior, despite literal millennia of history proving its existence.
