Pull out all of those and Bob would be in the same situation as those he sneers at on an alarming basis.

And yet Bob and every other privileged liberal will still be utterly stunned in November when they find out once again that everyone despises them and their worldview.

Bob and others like him really don't see the problem with keeping the economy shut down for the next indeterminate period of months until a vaccine is developed. Seriously, you see this all the time pretty much anywhere online that leans even a little left. When a story comes up about people wanting to get back to work or businesses reopening, it's "BUH BUH DUH VIRUS." Yes, if the virus were the only thing we had to worry about and everyone had a good month's stockpile of food saved up and we could keep the lights on remotely and a bunch of other things, then sure, we could just have everyone stay home for a month and let the virus run its course. But that's not how reality works.

People are so laser-focused on the virus numbers, I think, because it's tangible and easy to understand. Number of cases, number of deaths, you don't want those numbers to go up. It's when you start factoring in every other aspect of society that's getting wracked by this and the associated repercussions that people have a hard time understanding. They want to do the right thing, especially when the "right thing" is to sit around their house all day. Slacktivism at its finest.

And furthermore, when the average age of those who die from the virus is in the 70s or 80s, depending on where you look, that would suggest that people of prime working age should be allowed to get back to work while we continue to shelter our most vulnerable. Printing more money for months or a year, or possibly longer, until a vaccine is developed is only going to make a bad situation worse. It's much easier to get people back to work so they can pay for what they need themselves.

Bob, meanwhile, continues to push the notion that it's nothing but modern slavedrivers who want to reopen the economy so they can crack their whips again. Considering he hasn't worked an honest day in his life in at least a decade, it's no surprise he doesn't understand the realities of the working world.

Bob, who thinks that all actual production and transportation of goods is automated or about to be, never even realized that with people no longer producing goods and services, there will be shortages of goods and services. You can't just import everything indefinitely either, because 1. that costs money that we are rapidly running out of, 2. other countries also aren't producing as much because of their own quarantine measures, and 3. many services and some goods can't be imported. Due to the shutdown, we're having predicted shortages of meat even with Trump exercising emergency powers to keep the meat industry running. When Bob can't get his tendies, it will be his own stupid fault and those of millions of people who believe the same things he does. But he's so blind and stupid, he'll never even realize and blame it on Trump.
