J. K. Rowling was something of a Leftist idol- not because of any special beliefs she held, but because she was a woman who wrote books about a boy wizard that they happened to like. Now that they're grown and Rowling has "fuck you" money, she can say things that go against the Leftist orthodoxy. The Leftists are pissed that the woman they idolized is denying their beliefs. They would very much like to #Cancel her, but again, she's rich enough that she can afford to say such things.

Leftists don't have the ability to continue liking something if the person behind it is problematic. Once somebody they liked becomes problematic, they become so angry at the fact that they liked something and want to continue to enjoy something from somebody who has what they deemed to be the wrong opinion.

It's the same reason why Orson Scott Card or Notch have received so much shit over the past several years. It's also the same reason why Dave Chappelle's last stand up special received so much controversy.

He's able to own a house and take care of a family so I'm assuming yes, tried searching this thread to see if it had been mentioned but didn't find anything. I Googled LinkedIn and found a Christopher Chipman profile from Boston who had worked at Blockbuster. If its his real actual profile then Chris definitely inherited all the smart genes in the family.

Chris definitely has intelligence. Earning a graduate degree puts him in a class above Bob (who received his "film studies" degree from a state college), which means he has considerable knowledge in math and science. His intellectual laziness manifests in his politics, which is the typical "orange man bad" bleating that is common in that part of the country. He basically absorbs the news he gets from CNN/MSNBC and repeats it without an ounce of skepticism, but at least does not display the vitriol for the red states Bob has. It's funny that for how much of doofus Chris is, he is light-years ahead of Bob because he is not an angry and bitter asshole.

I just noticed this old pic of their Pax east merchandise. What a terrible, low-effort design. Everything is lazy and half of it matches the shirt color.

I have a few thoughts about Bob's job at the Blockbuster Video. It's the only real job he ever worked, at least the only one where he had any contact with actual people. Running a cash register and performing the simple rote task of checking movies in and out, interacting with the public and his coworkers is the closest thing to a social life Bob has ever had. I doubt they liked him very much but he had at least some chance of being included in socializing. I think Bob would be a much happier person today if he'd continued to be a register jockey. At the very least he could tag along with his brother back then. As it is, these years of mostly solitary life and work have only made him more socially terrible both online and IRL. It's sad, if he'd been less successful at youtubing and had to keep some form of day job he would probably be in a much better place both emotionally and socially.
