Funny thing about Robert talking about "cancel culture" and defending it, is that he doesn't really realize he got some sort of "shadow canceled" himself.

Of course, Robert doesn't seem to be suffering the usual online flagging people get when being "canceled" either because he isn't a popular figure, nor he warrants said flagging because he never steped into the dangerous lines against the cancel mob. But judging by the avoidance or outright refusal from his "peers" to have anything to do with the guy, and even the Escapist seems to be ignoring him, Robert seems to be under the effect of what is the very crux of the matter on this cancel culture bullshit, and that is ostracization.

We mock Robert a lot, but let's not forget that once he was quite popular. Seems wrong to call him a "big deal", but at the early 2010's, the Escapist was very popular because of yahtzee, and Moviebob got to be their second most popular content, even more than the other fatass, Jim Sterling, at least at the start.

By all accounts, Robert should have been in a much better place than he is right now, but looking from outside, he is just a less fucked up Spoony, a guy stuck in a dead end, unable to move on with a crippling addiction to twitter and forgoten by all the relevant people on his line of work.

Not just forgoten, but actively avoided. Shit, I'm still surprised Lindsay Ellis took her time to get back to a rando just so she could distance herself from "film Robert"
