They call Bob 'The Cooler' at the barcade. Even the other nerds fall silent and look away in annoyance when he comes lumbering in, palms and pits all sweaty. Time for another night of Bob spending eighty bucks to win a prize worth ten bucks. Watch with disgust as Bob slides greasy bar food down his throat as he orders way too much food, leaving a greasy residue on everything he touches.

Even setting aside his loathesome political views and his disgusting public creeping on women, he just comes across as such an arrogant condescending dick for no reason, all the time. It's this constant stream of rude asshole posts that show that he simply feels no need to correct anyone or share a piece of knowledge in any sort of humble, polite way, unless of course it's someone he's trying to suck up to or can't afford to offend because they outrank him on the progressive stack. He's just this blatantly two-faced barstool know-it-all that it will sooner or later grate on nearly everyone.

Conservatives aren't heartless, Bob and friends - they're realists (like Bob likes to brag about) and sometimes there are no perfect solutions, just the least bad one. Their entire group is arguing like, "The sun causes skin cancer! Therefore we can't let the kids go out into sunlight until there's a cure for skin cancer!"

I mean with you idiots in charge, it's no wonder every communist experiment ever has turned into a shithole with absolutely no food for its starving people.

Is that why I've been seeing Lindsay videos pop up on my youtube feed of late?

I mean once in awhile something kind of channel awesome related would pop up which I get from some of my viewings but other ones (like the PBS feature) are just baffling.

Also, I bet her book way outsells Brick by Brick.

It is amazing how far Bob would probably get if he could ever A) Admit once in awhile, "I don't know that, it's outside my specialty." and B) If he actually used citations like "here's what I know about this topic, if you'd like to be more informed, check out this person's video, or this guy's book [link]."

But of course he won't because it's all about him. You just get a sense of it from every single tweet. "Me me me." Even when he's trying to reach out to someone you'll see him bring himself back to it ("Oh I can't speak to that." "Beyond my right to speak." etc) Like even when he's pontificating about animals, he does it in such a way to bring attention back to himself.

No wonder he loves Hollywood. He has the narcissism tank of an actor (and I've heard it said before, the movie business is SO competitive, so harsh, you almost have to have an insane love of and confidence in yourself to make it) but none of the looks and charm (or talent or wit or...) to be one.

Since she got an actual publishing deal with St. Martin's Press and is being touted as a "Hugo finalist!" (barf) that seems like a safe bet. At least bookstores will have bought pallets of them; whether customers actually buy them is an open question. I have a feeling Lindsay's popularity, like that of many e-celebs, is something of a paper tiger in the real world.

Also, the previous paragraph just reminded me I have an appointment with a gin-and-lye cocktail. Adieu, my robot friend.

There actually is a reason he comes across as condescending. Bob, deep in his fat-clogged heart, knows he has botched his shot at life. He's pushing 40, if he hasn't reached it yet, and what does he have to show for it? A useless degree from a no-name university, a sputtering YouTube channel, a declining Patreon, 100+ extra pounds of fat, a job as the class clown at The Escapist, a couple of blue checkmarks on social media, and his virginity. His brother, at least, can prove he's had sex.
In the grand scheme of things, Bob has nothing. And he knows it. All he can do is present an illusion of superiority- it's why he looks on Wikipedia for little tidbits of information to pass on- not because he has a desire to inform, but because he wants to present a certain image to the world: the illusion of a svelte, intelligent Renaissance man (pay no attention to the fat, greasy man behind the curtain, ladies and gentlemen- that's not the real Bob Chipman!) This is why he comes across as condescending- he's trying to give the impression that he's so evolved he can look down on anyone without a blue checkmark. This is markedly true when dealing with people who lean towards the political right. In his mind, he's "superior" to those country hicks (which is likely why Bob frequently makes ridiculous claims- such as being able to survive in the wilderness with only a knife, or being able to bench 300lbs. He's claiming, ridiculous as it may sound, that he's so superior that he can beat the subhuman troglodytes at their own game.)
Bob will ignore and deny reality as long as he can. But he knows, deep down, he can't maintain the illusion forever.
