There's a couple of different videos on YouTube that explain the how and why of US farm subsidies. The TL;DR is that the margins on agriculture products are dogshit, relative to their harvesting cost, but the product is absolutely vital to the continued survival of the human race. I got curious about this subject when I was playing Farming Simulator, and it's pretty interesting.

You'd think with how fat Bob is, he'd appreciate food enough to actually do some research.
Thanks for the video!

To keep the thread on topic: fuck bob and I hope the fat in his brain gives him an aneurysm.

Thank you for your response. Scale economies was not something I was taking into consideration.

Regarding the EU, I feel like I'm going crazy but do you recall the Netherlands dumping milk into the ocean just to keep their prices up and not accempt any more imports? I just can't find the news articles anywhere.

I don't recall that specific incident, but in the 80's and 90's the EU's "Butter Mountain" and "Wine Lake" were common anti-EEC/EU talking points in the UK and elsewhere. Because of transport and bureaucratic inadequacies, EU-subsidised overproduction of food led to it being hoarded rather than sold or donated. Much of it went off and had to be destroyed (hence I can believe the Dutch milk-dumping). These days ironically it is immigration-fuelled population rises that have swallowed up much of the excess.

The EEC (the EU's predecessor) pretty much operated as a giant mechanism for corruptly funnelling taxpayer's money into the pockets of French farmers - not so much to preserve food supply, but more to appease the powerful political lobby (and tendency to riot) of the French farmers within internal French politics. Of course it's very different now - it also enriches Belgian farmers too.

There was something in Brussels that happened in 2012. Are you thinking of that, maybe?

It also happened in 2009

I guess I was raised differently than these people, the idea of begging random people for money is completely alien to me.
The fact he's having financial problems and immediately thinks "I should do what my idiot brother that's so poor he has to live for free in my basement for a living does!" is hilarious.

These are what I was looking for. First he EEC gave subsidies to lower the prices to make a single integrated european market and because they are a bunch of technocrats, they messed up and each country had to desctroy the sulprus which was not being sold because no one wanted to pay for the costs of transporting goods that would not be sold.
If the producers did not invest the subsidy to maintain production higher than the previous year then it would be revoked and if they didn't get the subsidy they could not compete.

I remember this ones but it was due to overproduction that the government had to intervene, it was not the producerss that did it. Still, thanks for the articles. That was a fun trip.

Is it the general consensus that MovieBob makes a show of his interest in Transformers because of Ms. Ellis, or are his tastes actually that unrefined?

Gotta give bob this, he sure bounces back from getting wrecked real fast.

Must be all the excess body fat...

It isn't like he is bouncing back, it is just he has nothing else on his life so he needs to crawl back to this delusion he has significance that twitter provides him.

Any person with any sort of self-respect would have deleted twitter, or kept it stricltly to his videos and patreon output. And no, "it's muh job" doesn't cut it Robert, he could just talk about hollywood drivel and pop culture minutia, you would do fine to just post about it.

But he doesn't, he uses Twitter to vent about his fuck up frustrations and hang ups in form of political sperging, while trying to chum with the "thinker elite".

And looks like Lindsay's fuck off wasn't enough, because just the other day Robert was re-tweetting Ellis' BFF Contrapoints.

Robert is enduring a barrage of online humiliation and having his image being distorted and destroyed in regular fashion the same way a meth-head is enduring living in a rat-infested crack den and losing their teeth.

Remember in his book when Bob claimed to be doing 3000 calorie burning gym routines while watching Transformers cartoons at the gym?
Bob legit just has shit taste. And his tastes in media peaked at age 8 and have stayed the same ever since.

Yeah. By all measures Bob seems to be a legit transformers fan. (Hmmm... autistic mind... maybe now we know why he's such a trans suck up.) It's part of why he hates Michael Bay so much.

Hilarious to see him going on about continuity when I thought his buddy Patrick Williams explained that we needed to stop worrying about plot holes with Robert's endorsement.

It's amazing this buffoon considers himself some kind of deep thinker when he has the tastes and opinions of a small child.

Does CinemaRobert actually think Transformers is good cinema? Does he not realize the whole concept is just to sell toys to children? Or that the movies are a prime example of the military-entertainment complex pushing war onto viewers under a veneer of robot-fighting action?

To think Transformers is entertaining as anything other than orgiastic violence is laughable, yet this guy seems to treat it seriously. What an absolute joke.

This is the guy who quite seriously compared the MCU to the Greek playwrights and mused on whether Shakespeare's plays comprised a "shared universe." Bob is very, very, very stupid, but thinks he's a God-brain.

We only have a small amount of surviving greek plays. There could have been thousands that burned that were complete dog shit, thereby making Bob correct.
