The amount of pure unadulterated butthurt that meme created made me so happy.
The consoomer is immunized against all attacks: call him a fanboy, a manchild, a corporate drone, and it all runs off of him like water off a raincoat. But call him a consoomer and watch how he recoils, how injured he looks, as if he is saying "I have been found out!"

For me its not even the Mountain Dew.

Its the fact that he does it for nearly a week.

Most other acidic marinades you leave in for only a few hours or else it starts to toughen up and become rubbery. I almost want to try it just to see how gross it really gets, but I am a not having food poisoning enjoyer as well.

As if "left wing" and "right wing" were intrinsic attributes to a product. A carrot grown on a "right wing" farm is supposed to remain "right wing" when it is sold in an posh "organic" "atelier" store. And "affect-oriented"? Look no further than Bobby himself: If something makes him feels good, he declares it morally good.

Soon enough Bobby talks himself into a knot: you don't need to consume masculine things (like huge pick-up trucks) to show how manly you are; Trump demonstrates his (undoubtedly toxic) masculinity by his Versaillesque interior design.

So a carrot is inherently "right wing" by virtue of its origin, but a style may be left-wing/feminine or right-wing/masculine depends on who adopts it.

The answer is feminism. Be a bitch like Brie Larson. Forget conventional morality (which are patriarchal anyway) because you are better than men. I'm at a loss how MCU promotes "progressive globalism" but then as I freely admit I know next to nothing about MCU.

"Short version: In HOUSE OF M everyone is stuck in "The Matrix, But Happy." Think STAR TREK GENERATIONS"

In what world is this the "short version"?

And to sperg, this is not an accurate summary of House of M at all. Not everyone was "happy" in the reality, some people were aware that reality wasn't originally that way and rebelled, which makes up most of the plot. Kinda like The Matrix, yes, but without any of the Matrix's overarching "real plot/real world" to it. Which yes, makes it more like Generations where Picard knew it wasn't reality but could stay there forever. So you've screwed up three plotlines in two sentences, Robert!

House of M's relevance is the ending, not the story itself.

I guess Robert can always weasel his way out with the "I'm just being hypebolic champ", but the way the fatass likes to flex, i think he was for real talking about how he has read "Capital" (or Das kapital) on his high school years...

Mind you, Capital is a book with more pages than fucking War and Peace, writen in a very german academic way, the thing is a brick wall to penetrate and understand, with lenghty and meandering explanations that makes Hegel look accessible in comparison, not to mention, allusions to work relations that only made sense if you are a historical expert on Europes second industrial revolution.

College courses don't even use Marx's original texts anymore, but modern authors with approchable text over Marx theories.

But sure, 17 year old Robert was digging on his "Das kapital", while he was surviving on the woods, after his 300 pounds reps, just before he went to have sex with his girlfirend whose heart he wooed because of his Judy Blume knwoledge.

He never read House of M, but the wikipedia. Not everyone is happy under the house of M, there is a freaking human resistance goign on with hawkeye and Luke Caging leading it, peter only got to be "happy" under Wanda's Wolrd because in her world peter was perceived a mutant.

As far as "the matrix" comparisson, the whole "fake world" illusion goes away really fucken fast, a little girl just need to look at the heroes and they get all their memories back like that, very little is dwelt on the "fake world".

House of M is kinda shit, and like it was said, itis just the ending that matters, because Marvel wanted a solution for the mess that was to manage the X-men comics and whipping them out like this seemed a good choice...

Except it wasn't, and since then the X books haven't recovered. Last time the X-men were any good was way back in 2001, when Morrison was writing it, since then, all duds.

Interesting point. What exactly is the ethos of the MCU anyways? Teamwork? Unity? To do what? Punch bad people and sometimes each other. I can't say power corrupts seeing as how everyone in the MCU is superpowered in one form or another.

One of the core flaws of Endgame is that it doesn't actually refute Thanos's Malthusian argument when it actually could have. Stark has always been about using technology to overcome hard limits of biology and ecology. It should therefore follow that Stark's answer is ingenuity and imagination finds a way. As narratively unfocused and self-referential as the Time-heist was, it was a giant exercise in ingenuity and imagination beating out natural reality (the destruction of the prime universe's stones). What actually happens is they don't realize they've disproven Thanos's beliefs and simply punch him a lot.

Entertaining? Absolutely. Are these characters role models to be or not be? I guess I don't want to be Thanos because he's a raid boss now. I certainly didn't think Malthus was wrong because of this movie. Would I want to be Captain America? Because he gets a magic hammer now? If some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me and I declared myself a hero, they'd lock me away. Would I want to be Hawkeye? As that riot in Salt Lake City showed, I don't want to be the guy with a bow and arrow trying to stop a riot.
It's one of those things that made me laugh overthinking about it. Thanos said "all life" so that would mean plants, animals... all of it should have been cut in half. (sorry endangered species) How can whales be repopulating areas of Earth again when half of them were gone. Ok ok, lower life breeds faster so if humanity got hit, a lot of species might bounce back quick. Maybe Thanos just meant half of all sapient life.

Well what nobody wants to admit (and the films try and ignore) is that wiping out half of humanity at random would have a MUCH higher death toll than just half of us. For example... if it was purely random, how many air plane pilots would be taken? So even though several dozen folks on the plane may be left alive, they won't be much longer...

Never mind those working in production. Food, factories, etc. Randomization means some cluster of farmers had to be zapped somewhere. Sure there's less mouths to feed, but that doesn't solve a food production of 0. I kind of liked Endgame I'll admit, and it's a comic book movie so some part of your brain always has to not think, but the implication that "life went on" mostly normal in the world save for the psychological scars is just hilarious. If anything Tony Stark and professor Hulk should have been working overtime just to keep humanity functioning. Can you imagine how some nations would behave if there is a sudden chance their nuclear armed neighbors may not have guards at the silos and the leadership is missing?

Though I admit I can see Thanos not being bothered by any of this because he is a villain.

Now which do you think would be a worst fate for Bobby? Being one of the ones who vanished then returned? Or being one of the ones left behind?

peter only got to be "happy" under Wanda's Wolrd because in her world peter was perceived a mutant.
That actually reminds me of another clear point Robert missed (you're right, probably because it's not spelled out on Wikipedia), people aren't in THE Matrix "But Happy," they're specifically in Wanda's reality. Which is why it falls apart, one person's utopia is not everyone's. A lesson that might be good for Filmberto to learn someday.

Left behind as there's less media to consoom. Getting vanished is just the next tier of un-self awareness. What I would have liked to see in the first act of Endgame is the cult of Thanos, who have an obsessive need to divide everything into halves. Since the Infinity Gauntlet means that he's god, wouldn't it follow that people would try to find religion? And that literal god has stated one commandment to reduce all resource usage in half. So people interpret it to only eat 1.5 meals a day, wear half suits, build half skyscrapers, and only raise one twin so as to stretch resources as much as possible even after there should theoretically be plenty for everyone. Naturally, our heroes are opposed to such obvious lunacy.

Also, Robot Chicken addressed that exact point.

Not only this but the other half is presumed permanently gone for five years and then *poof* they're back (to where they left apparently? so those pilots are reappearing 30,000 feet in the air?). Totally unchanged from five years ago, expecting life to be the same as the very exact second prior, while everyone else lived through a literal holocaust and societal collapse lol

Bob: Everyone in those evil, evil flyover states oughta be gassed for being white, poor, stoopid, and for stealing my superior fyoocha that I earned!

Also Bob: How dare you tell someone to get a personality other than being a troon!
Bob enjoys trashing the white working class.

Socialism, in theory, is about listening to the working class, be it black, white or green with polka dots on. It's pretty obvious that real socialists don't like people who are literally the definition of bourgeois insulting their voter base, and I'll be doing shots when a socialist bluecheck calls him out for that.

1) I speak pretty good French. Bourgeois is a masculine adjective. If it was describing a woman it would be bourgeoise.
2) I've met right wingers who shop at expensive grocery stores and lefties who go the corner shop. Stop trying to politicise food.
3) the reason Bobby hates any discussion of brunch Democrats and tries to come up with weird justifications of why brunch is a form of praxis or whatever is pretty simple.
• Roberto likes brunch.
• Roberto also wants to shag AOC.
• AOC has criticised brunch Democrats because, in her mind, the Democrats would have swept the House and Senate if they'd adopted socialist policies and not worried about appealing to upper-class white moderates.
• therefore, Roberto must find sone way of justifying his love for brunch in the eyes of his crush, which he chooses to do by taking feminist arguments and beating them until they tell him that criticising brunch Democrats is doubleplusungood.
4) is this man seriously implying that the FBI should entrap activists? J. Edgar Hoover called, he wants his policies back.
5) ah yes, dressing up in fur pelts and threatening to hit people with a medicine stick is the same as a religion that has endured, despite the persecutions of Film Robert and his comrades, for over 2000 years.
Be careful you don't cut yourself on that edge!
6) a film company should not be a moral arbiter and we should not all become progressives because Mickey Mouse says so.
7) we aren't saying the quiet part out loud because we've always said that capeshit is for kids and if you're an adult you have no business watching it. If you want to use phrases you steal from pop culture, make sure to use them right.
8) ”it starts with 'reasonable concerns' but ends with denying [puberty blockers] and giving [therapy to people with self-proclaimed dysphoria] a chance.”
aaf.png

9) he was willing to compare the console wars to Vietnam so I'd be unsurprised.

Interesting point. What exactly is the ethos of the MCU anyways? Teamwork? Unity? To do what? Punch bad people and sometimes each other. I can't say power corrupts seeing as how everyone in the MCU is superpowered in one form or another.
And since it’s a family franchise, shouldn’t the MCU, and all superhero films, teach kids about the importance of doing what’s morally and ethically right, having honor and integrity, and the importance of teamwork? Because they’re not going to get anything if you just simply have them jump up and down like Mario whacking the mustache-twirling villain.

All this Disney sperging makes me argue that the only protesting Bob would do is if Disney were to get bought out.
I imagine that it'd be like everything else. Bob would keep his mouth shut until he was told what to think. If this buy out would somehow make him think he was winning his imaginary cultural war with the obsoletes then he'd be all over that like a passing futa with an onlyfans.

It's not the job of a big corporation to teach your kid morality in your place.

Well, Spiderman does have that lesson about power and responsibility. Batman also kind of addresses how the extreme pursuit of good can turn you into somewhat of a villain. I'm sure there are other classic lessons in superhero stories (I wonder what Bob thinks of the original Watchmen? I have no doubt he's a simp for the HBO sequel which generally fell flat, but I bet he's ranted multiple times over the years about Rorschach fanboys as alt-right...)

But, yeah, the blockbuster MCU movies are morally vacuous corporate enterprises. Viewing them as having any deeper meaning to teach viewers is retarded. At best, they're fun and have impressive cinematography—though I generally think CGI is not worth praising.
