Just took a look at Chris' timeline and it seems like he didn't do anything for Bob's birthday, just one tweet responding to someone where he mentioned it, but there's also a memorial for his father who apparently shared a birthday with his eldest son.

This is pure speculation, but I can absolutely see 13-year-old Bob being pissed at his father over everyone caring about him turning 40, especially since teen years is when people stop making such a fuss for the kids. That'd also be around the time when Papa Chipman realised his son was definitely going to grow up and instead stay a child for as long as he could.

yeah the shitta i see that same smile in the tweakers down by the street

Bob's biggest problem, and this may be the arch problem of all true lolcows: he is completely lacking in even the slightest bit of self-awareness. He doesn't realize how bad he looks when he shits on poor people from the midwest, how terrible it is that he calls people "things" and "obsolete" and how saying that Germany should invade Poland again isn't going to go over well even as a joke. Because he doesn't have the ability to see himself the way we see him, he has a blind spot. This is also why he does a lot embarrassing stuff on videos, why he says ridiculous things, why the production quality of his videos is so low, etc. Its all because he doesn't understand how bad it all makes him look.

But now that I've broken that dam I wanna ask how does RLM get away with mocking their audience and movie goers and Bob doesn't or maybe why does it seem that way?
Watch any of the Plinkett Star Wars reviews, and than watch the opening spiel of his long form review of Batman V Superman. The entire reason that the character of Mr. Plinkett was created is because the only way to create highly critical long form content about pop culture entertaining and not insufferable is to be able to poke fun at the whole thing. Moviebob is everything that RLM didn't want to be, or didn't want to come across as when they went about their Star Wars prequel reviews. I don't think the careers line-up so I doubt it's a direct parody of CinemaRobert, but the parallels between him and Plinkett are pretty striking.

- Both are fat and diabetic
- Both eat like shit
- Both have unhealthy relationships with pop culture ephemera
- Both repulse women and have to resort to extreme measures for their attention
- Both will seamlessly shift between saying inane stupid bullshit, creepy rants, and insightful critique and commentary on films that don't matter
- Despite their expertise in pop culture baby movies, they have very little in the way of credentials to be doing so

Would Bob still advocate for space travel as part of his Superior Future if he were to know that the technology to do so was in part developed by former Nazi scientists (courtesy of Operation Paperclip)? Or would he try to handwave this realization through more incoherent ramblings?
Incoherent ramblings.

Always incoherent ramblings.

I imagine it would be fairly easy for him to handwave it as bad people achieving technology while the science itself dindu nuffin. It could be his broken clock being right moment for the month, at least in part. He'd find a way to ruin it.

There is also the fact that scientists throughout history have been forced into these kinds of situations where they are forced to work the crafts of monsters at penalty of death. Most people, especially ones who are autistically enthused with applying deep knowledge, are not psychologically capable of making a moral stand against their entire society at pain of death for them and their whole families. But this is a more complicated and empathetic line of thinking than Blob is probably capable of. He would probably never consider than Nazi Germans could be human in any circumstance.

Edit: Rune arrangement

I don't wish anything on Bob. No more misery than what he already goes through by his own design, and no joy because he won't make use of it.
And wishing better discernment from him is a waste of time, so not even bothering with that one either.
I personally wish him a long life. I want him to watch the world move on without him. He'll never understand that he's obsolete and will spend the rest of his miserable life trying to recapture the popularity he once had. Bob doesn't realize it yet, but his best days are behind him now, and he spent them all fat and angry. He has wasted his life. I wish him a long life so he can waste what time he has left, and become a living lesson for everyone- a bloated, angry morality tale on how not to live your life.

He dry humps NASA constantly, doesn't he? How many rockets of theirs would have gotten off the ground if it wasn't for Paperclip?

Yeah, I don't get why Bob doesn't like the Future President of Space either. Maybe because Bob thinks he would be a better President of Space?

mr plinkett is more likeable than bobbo boebert, just think about it
Hey - Bob has never offered anyone free pizza rolls.

The difference being that Plinkett is a fictional character. What we get from Bob's reviews and twitter feeds is the real, unvarnished Bob.

In his mind the nazis are probably what prevented NASA from discovering light speed travel back in the 70s when it was obviously supposed to happen. Just look at Tomorrowland at Disney, they obviously had expert scientists designing that and not sci-fi writers*

*Disclaimer: This is what Moviebob believes.

Bob believing that Moon Wheat is not only desirable, but practical, will never not be funny.

Given what he's said about Poland I think he'd probably have no problem with it.
