I'd point out that regardless of Stallone's politics, I don't think he gives much of a shit. He okayed an Expendables comic that was worked on by "Zack" of Diversity and Comics who got cancelled and sued a marvel writer for it, and Chuck Dixon, who has more or less been blacklisted for being a conservative who wrote some of the best Batman stories for like 15 years.

Not saying Stallone is some hard line conservative, but Chuck Dixon and him are friends, so at least he's not batshit.

Bob's Metroid ideas suck, much like his taste in Metroid games. Weird how that works.

Bob's reply to Greenwald is fucking disgusting. "It doesn't matter if he's guilty or innocent, Rittenhouse is TRUMP TRASH and SUBHUMAN and should go to prison anyway." The fact that the fat little freak can say awful shit like that is astonishing. I know I shouldn't be surprised by what a loathsome and stupid person Bob is, but I really am.
At least you can be thankful that he does not have the genes to have children

Jesus Christ, Bob's ideas for a Metroid movie are fucking horrible.
First off cutting off all the Chozo stuff would be a disaster. Samus' sole emotional through-line that actually works is her relationship to her adopted family of Bird people. Especially now that Dread came out and really built on to that. And double especially since Zebes (the setting of 1 and Super) is the planet Samus was raised on.
Second, you can't do Super Metroid without doing Metroid 1. Super Metroid has so many moments that build on that, and any explanation of what Metroid are, what the Infant is, who Mother Brain is, and any other supporting characters would be clunky as fuck.

But Bob doesn't play video games.

You are asking too much of Robert to know the very basic of what he can wiki about Metroid. I don't think he ever played a Metroid game start to finish.

First his idea of keeping the story minimal and just be a "atmospheric" movie comes from the argument that Metroid should be more like the first "Alien" and keep the plot to a minimum. That isn't even his take, every dipshit who made a video about Super Metroid already made this point, not to mention the "Ridley is Ripley, LOL" shit.

But keeping the plot to a minimum doesn't quite work for Metroid, as inspired as the game was by Alien, when comes to telling a story, it is apples and orangers. Alien can get away withou any major explanation because we can get the space truckers setting with just a few scenes. Now, try to do that with space bounty hunter fighting creatures that suck life force, being used as bioweapons by a giant brain and a sentient pterodactyl.

"but the games...", Metroid started out in the 8bits, you got you story in a couple of paragraphs in the manual. Same goes for a good chunk in the series, and really, the only time we see the Metroid Series to rely heavily on cutscenes and story was Other M really (and maybe the prime games, but I'm not familiar with those), so maybe just taking the games by themselves isn't the best idea to adapt the story into a movie.

Not saying we need to go full exposition on a Metroid movie, and even keep shit like the parasite X and the origin of the metroids for a sequel or whatever, but by just saying "just do aliens in a cave" is utter bullshit, we do need some context of who Samus is and why is she there, and that takes time and exposition that "Alien" never had to much of (till the tiwst at the end).

Or maybe just don't do a movie, Metroid is fine the way it is.

No woman wants to fuck you Bob not because you’re fat, but because you’re a arrogant, annoying, narcissistic, stupid, childish asshole who doesn’t know when to shut up or fuck off.
I'll never get over how perfectly that image goes with this song.

I don't personally support Rittenhouse but dear god Bob's being such a douchebag and is the type of guy who'd kick dogs for fun if it were to piss off "Mayo ghouls", like he seems so gleeful in him going to prison that I hope Rittenhouse goes free only for Bob to meltdown especially since he literally claims he can see the future.

Bob just shows once again how he's a vile human being.
That's the one positive Bob has: he is such a loathsome individual that people put aside their differences just to shit on him.

It's because they saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:

Just kidding. It's because Nerd Shit with a thick patina of Social Justice is the cool thing to be into right now, largely because of Social Media and the drive for nostalgia that comes from living in a culture that's too exhausted to produce anything new.
I always find it funny how when it comes to Scott Pilgrim, people who went nuts for it seem to have missed the point of the book. Like, from what I recall it actively made fun of the whole hipster culture and pretty much called out Scott's retarded view of Ramona, hell even the ending kinda implies this is dumb and won't go anywhere.

Also, gun opinions aside isn't Stallone a republican?
I'd say Sly is kinda a huge ass hypocrite really. The guy is outspoken against firearms, but in all his movies his characters solve shit with guns and via violence.

ackshually, Bob was getting mad at the internet about the full quote in the dude's profile: Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics - even if you win, you're still a r3tard. I haven't played Other M, but people really shit on it because it's horrible and the plot really dulls Samus character. The other game that relies in a lot of exposition was the game previous to Dread. Metroid Fusion starts with quite a lengthy cutscene explaining the situation.
Samus was tasked with hunting creatures with a bio research team in some planet and she was infected with an unknown parasite. This was the X, a parasite that infects any life form and it nearly killed Samus to the point that she nearly died crashin on an asteroid belt. When she was recovered, the X was too embedded in her body to be removed and scientists pretty much expected her to die until the metroid DNA vaccine was developed and administered. This healed her since metroids were the only predators of the X but the result of the infection and treatment altered her body to the point that some of her power suit parts had to be surgically removed. After all this, she is tasked with investigating an SOS on a research facility. And during the game there are also small cutscenes and some long exposition segments (for a metroid game) about things happening in the station, like power outages, the Sa-X (an X that originated from Samus' infected suit parts that imitates her at full power), the fact that the metroid vaccine makes you weak to cold, the Nightmare and the secret metroid breeding program created by the Federation.
In Metroid Dread we also have a lengthy intro cutscene explaining all that happened in Metroid Fusion and what it led to, as well as some small exposition tidbits like a Chozo prisioner explaining why he's on the planet and the goal of the bad guy or the final boss explaining that Samus is his adoptive daughter and that she was genetically engineered to be a super warrior. This was not done before and even with metroid prime, the games that people will say were the golden age of metroid, didn't do this since plot was more along the lines of "land on the planet, find a big threat, destroy it and leave". Only in Prime 2 and 3 they gave some minor exposition through cutscenes, but it was mostly lore that is also explained in much higher detail on read logs, but those cutscenes give the world a bit more life rather than the entire game just having Samus as the only character.

If a Metroid movie is ever mad, there will have to be some worldbuilding. Be it through exposition through characters or through enviromental images. In Dread this is done very well since in several industrial enviroments you see powersuits being built with obvious avian features, indicating that the place you are is probably a major Chozo settlement. The plot could be pretty simple since Metroid has usually boiled down to Samus having a simple task and eventually it becoming an enormous heroic undertaking that has little to do with her original goal. And it worked because it felt natural as you explore more and you find greater threats, like in Prime 1 suddenly stubling upon the Space Pirate base when you are exploring the ice region looking for a way to progress.

But like you say, Metroid is fine as it is and it's better to leave it be. If it's not broken, no point trying to fix it.

Also, i really hope Rittenhouse gets to walk free just to see Bob fume. I hope he doesn't fume too hard or he might have a heart attack and we want him to live a long, healthy and very miserable life.

If Rittenhouse is convicted then Bob needs to just turn in his totally real .357 revolver because I have no idea what passes for self defense at that point. Just call the cops exceptional individual, the federalized cops.

Bob, simping for the feds since 2014.
First of all, lol isn't the FBI largely recognised as one of the most worthless (financially and practically) organisations ever created, or am I thinking of the CIA?

Secondly, I know Bob never thinks about his positions beyond that initial burst of dopamine he gets for having the Right Opinions, but I'd love to hear him explain where he thinks we're gonna find this 'new generation' of super pozzed cops. Cops as an institution are mistrusted at best and violently despised at worst, so who in their right fucking mind is gonna wanna fill the positions left by the 'bad' cops except more high school dropout speds too stupid to do anything else?

If you're smart enough to fit the bill of Bobby's glorious new regime, you're smart enough to do literally anything other than being a cop.

I mean thats such a Bob ass level of ignorance. Sly has shown two things. One, when he writes his violent characters tend to be tragic, and the violence is perpetuating a vicious circle. Two, the man has never ever turned down a paycheck. So he ends up playing bastardizations of these characters. Or characters that are inspired by the stuff he made that missed the point. Which is still fair. Because Sly isn't militant about this shit either.

Writes characters to be tragic? Do wanna tell that to his character Cobra, his character from Expendables, or his character from Bullet to the head? Let's be real, Sly's only "tragic" character is Rambo and even he went out the window around Rambo 3 which he wrote.

Boy, this Moviebob guy sure does hate democracy, due process, and pretty much everything else that doesn't let people with his preferred views enact a totalitarian state, huh?
If your enemies can fight back*, it's not TRUE and HONEST democracy.

At all, regardless of whatever ROE has been put in place. We're talking they can't even return fire if fired upon levels of deliberate and enforced inequality of discussion and participation.

The Genius Without Portfolio waves off the idea of bellwether elections, trending politics, obvious and clear political movements if not actual realignment, and decrees we must go full speed ahead on all the strategies that manifestly failed. And I think you're right: he really does believe that at some point the filthy mayonnaise ghouls will be disenfranchised or outright eliminated.
He sees not organized resistance, let alone general discontent, in parents standing up to dismissive and autocratic school boards, or workers demanding fair wages before they'll get off unemployment and return to the job, or workers putting money where their mouths are and walking off jobs just like they said they would in response to vax mandates, or just generally PO'd average Americans who are seeing the costs of things slowly but surely double or triple due to inflation spontaneously starting anti-Biden chants.

Instead, he sees the obvious death throes of Mayo Street, USA.

The elections they just won? Eh, even the kamikaze managed to hit one or two ships, but they're just burning themselves out before our eyes, you'll see......

I only wonder if he's dumb enough to be unable to draw conclusions, or, this is just 98% pure copium being mainlined right into his arm by his own hands?

the quote tweet

If you're unaware of what's going on, someone mailed Ashley Biden's, President Joe Biden's daughter, personal diary to Project Veritas before the 2020 election, most likely in an attempt at an October surprise. O'Keefe is a bit of a kook and has this ancient, pagan belief in doing minimal journalism and never published the diary with Project Veritas because he had no way to authenticate it. PV tried to get the diary back to Ashley through her lawyers and the lawyers wisely treated the thing like it was radioactive and refused to take it. Had they accepted it they would've legitimized the diary AND it's contents. Flash forward to now and the FBI seemingly raided O'Keefe's residence on the 6th, a little less than a week ago, out of spite and inflict retribution on him. PV never published any of the diary that I'm aware of. Pages of the diary have already been published through other right wing sites. How they got those I do not know. Why would they go to so much trouble over a book no one was 100% sure was real? Probably because in the initial release of the few pages it alludes to Joe having molested Ashley as a child.
National File article
The rest of the diary does not get better
fully published diary

The dumbest thing about this, which I no longer have the capacity to be surprised by the idiocy and incompetence of the FBI or the feds in general, is that the FBI has confirmed that the diary is legitimate.
I don't think there's based feds wanting to dethrone Joe. I think it's actual incompetence.

Also, natch, no explanation about what makes O'Keefe "bad"

Just "he's bad and bad things deserve to happen to bad people"

While on a metaphysical level, that may be true, but when you can't even objectively lay out what the "bad" is, then you're just being a dime-store sociopath that's apparently wishing death upon others who've merely displeased your sensibilities.
