I'm re-watching his review right now and Bobbyboi has clearly already made up his mind in the first minute and a half. It takes him 2 and a half minutes to get into the actual review after all his smug bloviating. He describes the issues Marvin had as "expensive but one would imagine most would consider manageable, non-apocalyptic disagreement (JUMP CUT) with other local builders over zoning regulations, building codes, and septic line disputes, it's that kind of small town" and not that they made it impossible for Marvin to operate his business and then fined him for it. I turned it off after that. Bob has no idea what owning a business is. I cannot even find anywhere where he flied an LLC for his Moviebob Productions. He moved back in with his mom for reasons that we can only speculate on. He's been fired from the same place twice and currently does some kind of research for MatPat. His next big thing is making a shit movie with his midlife crisis lesser brother that no one but us will ever see, assuming it ever gets finished.

Particularly how Hawkman and Dr. Fate (Nabu) were linked to Black Adam's history in JSA, but nope. Bob is as fake a fan as it gets.
And Atom Smasher develops a complex relationship with Adam, especially when Adam takes over his home country of Khandaq which leads to the climatic event of 52, one of DC's greatest all-time events. It's hard not to expect something there because why else would you put somebody like Atom Smasher in a blockbuster film!
I love that whole JSA run. 52 is actually one of the comics that I still have (well the trades) and I love that the chapter where Black Adam solo, fighting pretty much literally everyone titled "World War 3". Black Adam doesn't fuck around. I can't imagine this film will capture any of that.
It's certainly a very very high bar to meet, but honestly if you told me that the first Black Adam movie, after the Shazam movie we got (which I'm not saying is poor just saying stylistically), was going to start mining that kind of stuff the way this looks to be. Like, no way they'd do that, nobody at Warner Bros has seen or remembers JSA or 52, I'd tell you. Until they started showing the footage I thought there was no way this movie was going to have so much Justice Society in it. Even after what's been on the CW shows, I figured the only way the Justice Society ever appeared in a film was like a photo of the team or something. Now they're saying stuff like "ya know, if this does well, maybe we do a streaming series or something, maybe they show up in more films" and it feels like somebody snuck one past. Maybe Geoff Johns remembered they gave him a big important title and hoodwinked AT&T when they came in, I dunno, the guy wrote on both JSA and 52 after all. Just the potential that they're looking at stuff like that for Adam seems fun for the future when they're getting it out there early. After everything that's gone wrong for these DC films maybe they didn't fuck one up.
I don't have a lot of faith in it, but if they pull it off, it'll be the first capeshit movie I go to in quite a while.
