I would agree with Robert that debates are meaningless, at least the gladiatorial style of argumentation that got popular by william f buckley vs. Gore Vidal back in 60's, when the conversation isn't about reaching an understanding, but to just the other side look bad.

Of course this shit has "evolved" into the debate bro and blood sports scene, where people straight up make up shit to "own" others for the prize of super berries, so there is nothing to "gained" in that shit.

Said that, this is also a very convenient side to the hot taking machine Movie Robert here. For someone who sure likes to talk as if he has all the answers, and how everybody but him (and the troons that follow him) is a complete idiot, you would imagine he would be eager to show how much smarter he is huh? Oh! but perish the thought of challenging this transcendent intellect, "debates are a fraud, I'm smart and you are not".

And we all know what is up, we have seen Robert talking in public, a lot of stuttering and "ahms, ahs" vocal ticks, if he ever got in a antagonistic position where he has to defend his points, he would be made a fool, so no, i don't buy this from the guy who spends his whole day quote tweeting people hhe doesn't like for dunks.

Robert enjoys the aspect of "owning" someone on the internet as much as any other of those neurodivergent inamates that engage in Internet Debates, but he is terrified to death to be made a fool of, hence the quote tweets and closed replies.

Movie Robert is the ultimate internet tough guy, who talks big, but can't even say shit to another person in real time.
Debates are good for capturing soundbites that show candidates are lying, or just when they say things that are wildly unpopular. Biden is probably still haunted by that quote from his debate with Bernie Sanders, "Number one, no more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, no more drilling on federal lands, no more drilling, including offshore, no ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period, ends, number one. " This little clip from the debate is more important today than it was when he was trying to beat out Sanders for the Democratic Party nomination.

Bobby takes it surprisingly well at being trolled by someone whose avatar is a good looking girl. He even tries to find excuses for her.

Since when has Moviebob ever felt bad about supporting eugenics?

Correct answer: SINCE NEVER!!!

The useless debate over class vs identity rages on.

The "wisdom of crowd" hypothesis suggests that if each individual in a group is more likely to be smart than dumb, then the crowd itself can outsmart the smartest of them. Unfortunately the reverse is also true, and the Twitter crowd is filled with the like of Bobby.
I know! "A person is smart; people are not Moviebobs"!

New poll suggests that college students who identify as Democrats are more tribal than those who claim Republican allegiance.

Maybe one day the incredibly well-read Bobby will show us his large collection of books.
My question: How many books in Moviebob's collection aren't Dr. Seuss books? I'm guessing three.

"Intelligence is not genetic". Yes it is Bobby.
Oh, the irony, given Moviebob's perpetual support of eugenics.

Are people really "courted by MENSA"? What I heard is that you pay a fee, they give you a test, and you either get in and pay more fee or be turned down.
In Moviebob's case, I can imagine MENSA declining Moviebob's enrollment form simply because Moviebob's name is on the envelope.

You like eating, don't you, Bob? Then, yes, those food processing plants should be of concern.

MovieBob is not a "normie"; MovieBob is an elite.
Moviebob isn't just an elite. Moviebob is a coastal elite, the worst you can find.

And elites care about the plight of trannies.

The last time I checked, left-handedness is neither spread by peer pressure, no do southpaws molest children any more often than otherwise normal people.
Except left-handedness is, more often than not, a result of nature.

Luke takes another big shit. Something something Wizard Book Lady, WB, and Elon Musk.

Moviebob really needs to shut the fuck up on medical matters.

Meanwhile, under new management, the knives are sharpening in the offices of Twitter (Archive of Forbes article)

Elon Musk's bar for "exceptional employees"? Much higher IQ requirements that Moviebob could ever meet, apparently.

Uvalde and its "arbitrary borders"

Just like Moviebob's "apartment", which is composed of arbitrary borders.

Because Bobby walks a lot. On his diabetic feet.
The only walking Moviebob has done recently is walking back on Bob's most disgusting comments, oft claiming them to be "jokes".

Disney claims the degenerate content in Lightyear was just a lesbo kiss; turns out it is more deep-rooted.

Bob, you keep referring to "wokeness" as not being real. Maybe "wokeness" doesn't actually mean what you think it means, Bob.

I went and checked Bob's twitter as well...

So Shamus Young has passed.

And unlike Lundsay, he was an ACTUAL colleague of Bob's having worked for the Escapist too and even praising him a few times.

And Bob STILL hasn't offered the most minor condolences.

Come on, Bob. Prove you can have the tiniest shred of decency, man.

I will now present, "Debate-Bob" a play in 4 acts.

"It's not fun, and [nobody] deserves it."

To learn new things?

"Yes."

"I used to be that way too"

As a rebuttal to Bob's cynicism:

"There's something I believe wholeheartedly: Cynicism is the true refuge of the pseudo-intellectual .Cynicism is easy. Joy is an extremely advanced spiritual and intellectual tenet. " - Craig Ferguson

Oh he's at the same amount of miserable. Top Guns BO performance doesn't make anything worse for him, because he's always Miserable. And if the next the MCU movie makes more money than Top Gun it won't make him happier because he's always Miserable. Sure he'll be a lot more bragadocious on tweeter if Thor: Respect Wahman makes 50 Billion dollars, but he won't be happy, hes never happy. He's too stupid to make the necessary changes in his life to be happy, thus he's always Miserable.
To steal a line from Bob's favorite form of entertainment, "That's my secret, Cap. I'm always miserable"

Holy hell, the DM of the Rings guy died? Aww, I remember that and his Let's Plays. Hell, I think, other than Zero Punctuation, Shamus Plays was the only thing I ever went to the Escapist specifically for. Ah, Lulzy the hobbit, I miss ye.
:drink:
Yeah it hit me pretty hard too. Shamus was an awesome dude.

Bob is all the best things that make a cow except for schizophrenia.
Thinks he smarter than he is
Will never stfu
Will never learn from his mistakes

Watching him getting dunked on by stupid people will never get old. Don't change Bob.
It's like OPL, but, more lucid and less prone to spelling mistakes, really.

Or an even better example: those who have not decided.

The truly wise man remains agnostic on any topic he has not studied and if confronted on it, will seek out the arguments involved on both sides.

I think one of the worst features of the current day is this strange insistence that everyone MUST have an opinion on everything.

I have found not caring a very elegant solution to finding peace.
The truly wise man is the one who knows that he does not know.
