How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

I like how Bob uses the longevity of "Art and Media" to justify his own uselessness. 30 years down the road people may remember the MCU fondly, but nobody is going to care about Bob's shit reviews of it.

TGWTG have already been reduced to a bunch of lolcows, and it hasn't even been 10 years since their heyday.

What I got while guessing Bob's answers.

Bob is authoritarian in the sense the government should be the end-all to everything because many people are too stupid to know what's best for themselves. But despite our jokes he doesn't actually call for pogroms or mass-cullings of the normies. He just believes they are by nature obsolete and will starve to death if the government doesn't indulge them. He doesn't want the government to take over people's lives by force. He wants the people to hand over their freedom willingly and let everyone with the audacity of wanting self-determination die off.

I see Bob and his band of idiot fans still don't know how the Electoral College works:

Right now, I'm picturing Bob screaming "I'm a critic! And I deserve the respect accorded to that title!" :cans::cans::cans::cans::cans::

Bob calling someone else a conspiracy theorist. :story::

I don't know why, but I think I'll kick Bob's butt today:

EDIT: Just stop talking, Bob:

Okay, it still sounds like he's willing to leave his grieving family behind to put an AC in, so we're still at square one:

At this point, it's more likely it'll be remembered as a fad that caused an industry crash or maybe two if we get crazy. 30 years ago Bob would be one of the collectors buying the holographic covers for the first issues of "Deicide, the Executor" or "Bloodpouch: It's personal" thinking he'd make bank instead of contributing to a bad trend.

Is there really a difference at that point? If he believes everyone is too stupid to survive on their own and the government should stop helping them, it's still the state killing everyone who doesn't willingly give up their rights. It's like an adult leaving an autistic 5 year old in the jungle.

The MCU causing a crash? Nonsense! If/When the capeshit crash comes it will of course be the fault of those damn dirty uncultured Trumptards for having the audacity to not want to see the same fucking film 30 times over. Bob for one being the Superior Coastal Elite that he is knows the Truth. The MCU with it's mostly passable to sometimes pretty good action, bog standard plots and meh to cringeworthy snarky quips is a timeless classic.

I'd be legitimately impressed if we do get two industry crashes at once with how Hollywood is chasing that "Cinematic Universe" dollar. Doing that within a decade has got to be a world record. Not that it's likely to hit that scale.

Moviebob reminds me of those tankie fucks who don't get that they'd be strung up on day one of any communist uprising.

In his ruthless Superior Future, Bob would be woken up in the middle of the night by the Chads who beat him up in school, having now become the secret police thanks to their superior physical condition and drive. They will question him and slap him around, then present evidence of him saying un-PC things in the past to justify their search without a warrant. He'll mumble and then receive a rifle butt to the face. He'll wake up in a prison cell for the crime of having an Inferior in his family and sent to a lunar colony for 50 years of re-education through wheat farming.

Then on the way there, he'll die of Type 7 Diabetes.

Why do I get the feeling that this is largely Bob wanking over his nostalgia for the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies?

MCU will go on forever as long as the actors stay hot and relevant. my sister got into the universe and went from knowing nothing to superfan because chris evans or whoever is hot.

- condemns "materialistic garbage"

- spergs day and night about vapid superhero movies and shitty old video games

This fuckin' guy.
In context he's using it to justify why he's important and materialism is great. He's making history in his head. Full thing was a page or two ago.

Not completely true, you can get industries to crash if they're oversaturated with junk the market isn't able to support which will happen with everyone trying to make their own cinematic universe. Look at Atari or 90s Marvel.

Man, I didn't think it was possible to be this stupid before today...

It is true that there are aspects of pop culture that do end up becoming heritages.

However, on the other hand, Don Quixote is considered literature, while the pop-culture books it was parodying, including ones that are named in the book itself, are mostly forgotten or lost to time (This includes an actual fanfic sequel to Don Quixote someone made during the wait between Parts 1 and 2!). In the end, I'm pretty sure the MCU would be the latter, especially sine you can actually make the argument that if you replace knight with superhero, you can successfully update the book for modern readers.

Honestly I am A-logging at this point, but I hope an industry crash happens with all this Cinematic Universe shit can stop. Hopefully after the fire and smoke we can truly get some creative movies that will help inspire the next generation like the 80s genre movies did to our generation. Not to mention outside of the Guardian's movies, I don't think anyone will remember them since they are being the Call of Duty of movies with being formulaic and once audience fatigue sets in, the MCU is fucked. I don't think Bob will accept that reality though because he wants to sound like these movies have true heart and soul, but at the end of the day they are either fun movies or dumb popcorn flicks.

Don Quixote was very popular at the time, though, so it was as much popular culture as what it was parodying. It survived in the literary canon because it was a classic, not because it wasn't popular culture.

The Marvel films are popular culture, but so is something like Casablanca which has stood the test of time. People aren't going to remember the Marvel films much because they're generic action blockbusters, but the definition of popular culture doesn't intrinsically include being generic.
