I would say in cases where it isn't a Theocratic government, government worship can honestly be even more dangerous than fundamentalism in a religious sect. Though Bob doesn't worship American ideas of Democracy, states rights, or civic duty. He worships the Democrat party as in his mind they can do no wrong and that blind adherence to the party is what can allow corruption in both parties to continue as it only matters if your party wins in that mindset.

At the end of Red Son, Luther wins, and basically ushers in the Superior Future as Bob envisions it, until the Earth is being destroyed, and Luthor's descendant Jor-L sends his son Kal-L back to the 1930s hoping to avert the future, with him calling everyone "a cold, complacent lot."

So Bob hates Red Son because not only does it criticize the Superior Future as hollow and cold, it would mean having to think critically about the hill he chose to die on.

Or, y'know, Bob's like Dobson and just hates anything mature and DC-related on principle.

I don't know if Bobby has read Superman: Red Son, but I have. It is a great example of how Superman could be the ultimate big brother. In issue three, when Commie supes has take control over the entire world outside of USA, everyone is living pretty well. except for that they are always under watch from Superman.
