How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

How does a guy named MOVIEbob not realize there is more to Warner Bros than capeshit?

:autism:

This is how dumb and tunnel visioned he is. Did it not occur to him that whatever damage Justice League might do to WB, it's probably going to be mitigated by, oh, I dunno, the next wave of Harry Potter movies? The first Fantastic Beasts made over eight hundred million dollars worldwide. I'm sure the new one will do comparable business.

This may represent WB finally bailing out of DCU movies, at least until they can find an artistic vision for them that works, but "the end of Warner Brothers" is stupidity writ large. Fuck, man, Looney Tunes alone could probably plug whatever holes DC has put in the good ship Warner Bros.

Does anything that isn't capeshit even exist for this irritable toad?

So how bad is that Dr. What idea? As bad as his trash?

The weekend is not even over and Bob is claiming victory? :\

I get that opening weekend is a big deal for blockbuster movies but he never taken into account the foreign market.

The way you hear Bob and his ilk slag off Fantastic Beasts just because of Johnny Depp (Which tbh, fuck that pretentious wife-beater.) means there's some cherrypicking going on.

Also if Warner Bros could survive 2015, a year that had such colossal failures as Jupiter Ascending, Pan, In the Heart of the Sea and Point Break, they'll probably survive this.

If it does really well worldwide, will we get an episode of In Bob We Trust where he tries to shame Chinamen?

I'll be surprised if Johnny Depp isn't recast before the third movie starts shooting, but I'm missing something here. Maybe the new HP movies do suck -- I wouldn't know, since I bailed on Harry Potter sometime around the fourth movie -- but you can't deny every single one of them has been a staggering financial success. Is he actually doing that?

HP was never turned into a 16bit platformer so he keeps forgetting about it.

Eh, if he was gonna do that he would have done it over the People's Republic signing the death warrant for Ghostbusters when they refused to show it because it offended their lingering superstitious ancestor worship.

Agree with @Mola Ram regarding Fembusters. Plus he would blame them for keeping Bayformers going.

And what a timeline to be in where Bob and Breitbart are both thrilled about the opening weekend performance of Justice League but for different reasons.

I think he's not so much doing that as much as he is downplaying WB's successes in order to highlight their failures. Remember how much tepid praise he gave Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049, while all but blowing The Post and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

It's all part of some weird guilt by association fallacy that drives his tastes. If he doesn't like something, he'll go above and beyond to hate everything even tangentially connected to it. Dudebros play shooters, ergo everyone who likes shooters is a dudebro. Some DC fans are exceptional, ergo you have him comparing them to Trump supporters, etc. Lest we forget his seemingly endless distaste for La La Land and all it represented last year?

You're starting to make me suspect he might be kind of a shitty film critic. The horror!

Speaking of Bob being unable to get over things that slight him:

He also downplayed the success of Wonder Woman and probably IT too given they were some of Warner Brothers' big moneymakers this year.

His hateboner for South Park never ceases to amuse me.

I dunno exactly why, but I think it's just the idea of something as willfully and unrepentantly stupid as South Park rustling his jimbos so badly that just makes me laugh.

Maybe he hates it because they made Trump jokes that were actually funny.
