Minor nitpick, but the PS3 came out in 2006. However, I really don't expect Bob to get any of his facts straight at this point.

This is part were I wonder how much of a true believer Bob is with the viewpoints he pushes today. He used to openly do this type of talk in many of his videos. It is almost like he has to go overboard with his feminist talk because he knows he could be next being called misogynistic.

Captain N and the whole gimmick of him entering his console into a world where video games are all real (at least in a form made by people who never looked at the games in question) is probably the most autistic story concept I've seen. Did people really watch this in the 80s/early 90s?

This might be a dumb question but why does it matter if the US deems something "illegal" or not? I mean in the sense that Bob thinks nations themselves are "obsolete" and borders should be done away with for a unified Superior world. If it's because he wants the US to be the lead in creating this Superior Future of his, why not just go in the opposite direction and annex everything as terrible of an idea that is?

It's the video game avengers - of COURSE it was popular.

I mean have you seen sales of Super Smash Bros and tournaments of it? Nerds are suckers for crossovers. (though I admit to being bewildered that Captain N has never actually showed up in SSB - I guess it's a bit of old shame for Nintendo)

I don't know, you'd think it'd be a massive turn off that Captain N's take on everything has little resemblance to what it's based on. It's like an out of touch parent's take on video games mixed with someone loser's self-insert fanfiction. Smash Bros at least has consistency (most of the time) with the IPs it pulls in.

Doing a quick look at google, I think Captain N is owned by DHX Media currently as they bought most of DiC's library after purchasing some other company that got them a few years earlier.

Yeah but back then you took what you could get, even if it wasn't the best it was better than nothing.

A Captain N reboot where the characters ARE faithful could be interesting.

Still, that Bob made CapN the godfigure in his little series mythos just... says it all, doesn't it? Maybe that's why he's so bad at understanding things now.
