Bobs naturally hot blooded but doesnt want to take this flaw into account so will resist reality anger might be righteous but his isnt-it's seething, corrosive, toxic and he is dominated by it.

Weirdly I can kind of understand his mindset since I'm pretty hot blooded irl. I think the break point with Bob is im aware how destructive it can and while exerting control can be frustrating and difficult the alternative is a red abyss were the few terrible moments when you're not angry you realize how empty and tired you are.

This last part is Bob to a T. I think he knows the only thing he has left in his life that can be considered a motivation is the wishful thinking the people he hates will get to suffer something akin to the Gulag. Hence why the anger has to keep going otherwise he might begin pondering that depressing thought and it could lead to heartbreak.

At this rate, Bob is on borrowed time to come to that realization. And deep down he knows it but it will be a cold day in hell before the Bobert accepts defeat and let other see him truly miserable.

As said before. Anger will come to a end eventually. And when it does. That will quite a game changing day.

He likes to see himself as an intelligent, moral, rational person. The problem is, by traditional standards, he's none of those things. But tradition is a thing that republicans believe in, so he believes that he can redefine those areas in a way that makes his personal flaws into laudable traits so that he does, in fact, fit that idea of himself, and anyone who disagrees is just an idiot.

Being a film critic is not about taking into account things like story, characters, and direction, because he doesn't have the attention span to focus enough to analyze those. Instead, it's about themes and spectacle, which are things he can catch onto or bullshit about. Science is not discovering how the world works, it's making a futuristic utopia in space. Morality is not extending the olive branch and making the world a better place for all, it's vengeance and making sure only the few can live in peace, because the rest can be easily dismissed as villains. Rationality is not judging things on their own merits and making logical decisions, it's understanding that anger is righteous and can get the job done.

But Bob is too dumb to understand that only he believes in these new definitions. The rest of the world has no interest in a man like him. Volatile, spiteful, bitter and with no good qualities to back it up.

Oh perhaps it was me who got them mixed up because, as you said, Bobby mentions Snowden much more often.

It's doubly confusing because Bob says whistleblower and Assange isn't a whistleblower. He's just a journalist that published leaked documents but he is the one facing extradition for sex crimes. Regardless, I think it's safe to go with Ockham's razor and say that Bob is just dumb.

Welcome to day 2 of our MovieBob retrospective as we take a gander at Game Overthinker episode 2: Super Mario and the Sacred Feminine

no there's nothing wrong with your computer that's just bob's mic peaking in the background.

Honestly I don't have much to say about this one because for Bob this episode makes his ideas pretty clear cut:

Peach is a NOT a damsel-in-distress
Bowser a Satanic figure
Super Mario isn't sexist Feminists SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP *inhales industrial-grade copium*

Bob's video starts out simple enough, Bob give the snarkiest retelling of the story of Adam and Eve and after that he summaries the history of women and how they've been treated. This all culminates into Bob declaring that Feminism once was a necessary tool for equality has become a reckless, argumentative cudgel against the modern world.

"In the same way that Dr. King's noble struggle against genuine evil of racism, tragically morphed into the trivial, opportunistic racebaiting of Al Sharpton, the modern feminist movement is still spoiling for a fight but now has no more dragons to slay." -MoobieBob

How does this tie-in to Mario? Simple, the feminists attacked his beloved bing bing wahoo games for playing into outdated female stereotypes and dynamics. Likewise, Bob took it to personally defend m'lady Peach's honor by bringing every point he could possibly make, Including adding a full-minute long segment of flashing JAPAN IS AWESOME right on the screen.

Such arguments bob made include:

-Muh cultural dissonance
-Peach isn't a damsel-in-distress she fights too sometimes
-It's not kidnapping it's a political power struggle between two warring kingdoms
-How can it be so sexist if there no sex?
-Peach gets kidnapped because the villains want her EXTRODINARY POWER, not her virginity like in old fairy tales.
-Peach is actually the REAL rival to Bowser

This all concludes with the final third of the video and the most ridiculous stretch of the imagination I've ever listened to, so hopefully you can follow this logic.

-Bowser (koopa) = Kappa
-Kappa + fire and brimstone + Horns = Bowser
-Bowser = Satan
Therefore that makes Peach = angelic in comparison in the most literal sense.

Bob absolutely does not follow up on this, unless you count mentioning Rosalina as further proof that Mario isn't sexist. I guess a motherly creation spirit character is the furthest you can get from being sexist in your games but that all doesn't apply to peach, which I think she was the whole point of the argument.

He quickly gets one last point in by the last minute by mentioning Women don't have to be strong by copying men, then shows the picrel down below.

In conclusion, Feminists attack Mario. Bob Gets buttmad. Tries to verbally fight imaginary Feminists. Next episode is about Kirby.



Edit: Also I forgot to mention, When Bob talks about ancient man overthrowing the divine matriarchy and becoming god themselves, he shows a gallery of male gods and sneaks in another picture of Miyamoto. I have no idea why he keeps doing this, Bob made his point in the first episode no one's gonna join the church of Miyamoto with him.

It was their becoming aware of each other which kicked off the conflict and THEN it was Spectre and Living Tribunal trying to hold them back from fighting so they wouldn't destroy both universes. They weren't held back before because they had no idea either existed.

This two characters were chosen because they're pretty much super-angels in their universes, the most powerful beings in them.

See, this is why the posters -- God love you, but Mola don't understand you -- who are saying Bob's earliest videos have a charm to them utterly puzzle me. His early videos are just as obnoxious as his later ones, although less infuriating than his twitterpuking. It's all there: the smugness, the superiority, the lame jokes (word "or" -- add a picture of an oar! oh my sides), the pretension to being an expert without portfolio while bloviating on the most basic of subjects ... he's always been a self-impressed asshole. Just at some point the hatred and bitterness got too much and just ate him alive.

Instead of writing shit down they relied on oral tradition and stories around the campfire, which as anyone who knows anything about that at all knows it's one huge game of telephone, and we're not sure which part is legit and which part is either made up completely, or so badly distorted from the original that the original got lost in the shuffle.

You're generally spot on (I mean if you're nomadic the last thing you want to do is lug a bunch of books around), but oral traditions are a bit more complicated than just "telephone game" and it does trigger my almonds to see someone essentially pull a bob-ism with them.

Bob does echo Chris in a few ways, but it's undeniable Chris is significantly crazier and more detached from reality. Bob is the sort of asshole you run into at school or work; Chris is the sort of person you can't believe isn't in an institution. Although I guess he is, now.

bob has always been a retard who think he is smart.
im pretty sure that he thinks he was being so clever being a smart ass to his teachers or therapists. the reality is that it was their job, they were getting paid even if the retard they were treating wanted to get better or not.

For me, most of the charm comes from his earnest, early-days insanity and the shamelessly cringy live-action skits. I wont lie, sometimes I want to watch a youtube video where Bob battles his brother in a ill-fitting ninja costume. Perhaps there's also some youtube nostalgia at play for more innocent, less sterilized times, perhaps I've developed an immunity to MovieBob's brand of poison, telling every everybody it's got a nice aftertaste to it, or maybe I've just gone insane and trying to justify watching the entire Game Overthinker playlist by recommending it to you guys.

Game Overthinker episode 3: A Kirby Confession

This is a really intriguing one, and if I were to recommend any GO video, it would be this one. A quick tip for the video would be to skip 1:35 to 3:45 though. and skip 5:15 to 6:20 but that should be it.

@Mola Ram , if you're there I promise you this one has reduced Bob fat and should be fairly tolerable. It only has like a tablespoon of consolefagging in it.

This video is simply 10 minutes of Bob flagellating himself over the Nintendo heresy of never playing a Kirby game until now. He continues with a little self-reflection as well citing the reason he didn't play Kirby because he was an stupid, insecure teenager at the time. And then concludes with the oldest quote: "never judge a book game by it's cover." While heartwarming there's still a little bit of hypocrisy, cuz it can be easily inferred that he doesn't play most shooters that he claims to hate, or at the least he hasn't played MGS or Half-Life.

Not much direct religious connotations as the previous videos but it's still there:

Little Bob facts:
-Bob has played Bioshock and loved it.
-Bob claims he met his best friend at age 19 and only lived 5 miles away from him.
-Bob doesn't like Zelda 2 or Metroid Prime Hunters
-Bob doesn't "get" Pokemon

Overall there's genuine pathos from bob here, I don't care if it's fake or whatever. When was the last time you remember that Bob appealed to emotion like this? Next episode is about the apocalypse.

Proving that Bob has never had an original thought in his head. To really make it on YouTube, you need a unique "brand," something that differentiates yourself from other YouTubers who do the same thing. Simply copying someone better than you doesn't work; otherwise, there'd be thousands of successful PewDiePie clones.

Some examples I subscribe to:

• Our boy Critical Drinker built his brand around being a profane, drunken Scotsman who dares to say what we're all thinking about movies and TV shows.
• Let's Game It Out is a YouTube "let's play" channel based around taking simulation games and pushing the software to its absolute limits, often with hilarious results.
• The Spiffing Brit is another "let's play" channel featuring a spiffing Brit who finds the most overpowered combinations to beat various video games.
• Just Some Guy is a black man from Chicago who does what Critical Drinker does, only he occasionally branches out to other aspects of nerd culture (such as comic books), instead of just focusing on movies and TV.

All of these channels are infinitely more successful and infinitely more pleasant to watch than Bob's channel.
