My recollection is dim but that reminds me of something... some post-WW2 intellectual writing up a list of "traits of fascism" to make a nice little score-based warning system for use should any new Nazis crop up. Some years later he found that the leftist students at his university were - by his own metric - irredeemably fascist. I kinda-sorta remember this infamous Pictoline graph detailing a "how to spot a fascist" bucket list and it was supposedly done by him.
